Apologies if there is already a thread on this?

See attached screenshots

Looks like people have really been waiting on his downfall 🤭🤭

(Obviously, I know it's a serious matter for those who've been victimised by the guy, not being dismissive of them)

Just seems like he's really pissed off his fellow celebs

Yeah the format is a bit weird 🤭

I like to watch it to get food inspo but like the recipes on my Pinterest, I've never made them

Although I did just get my ninja foodi 11 in 1 today so well so maybe I'll try to make some 🤭🤭

Does anyone know when celeb masterchef was due to be on TV?

Never.

Its a joke. Allegedly one he made 20 years ago. Besides, it was how the dish tasted not how it looked.

Jokes are supposed to be funny. Can you explain where the humour is in talking about a close female relative's genitals in public, in fact on camera, in this way, on what's supposed to be a TV show suitable for all the family?

Didn’t he say something tasted like his aunt’s cunt, not looked like it? Which is even worse!

bet he’s off her Xmas card list!

Unless he has the coprolalia form of Tourette Syndrome (i.e. involuntarily saying socially inappropriate things) that was such an off-the-scale remark 😐. I can imagine it left those who heard/filmed it utterly stunned and speechless.

Crossingabsolutelyeverything · 29/11/2024 19:29

@morleymoney 😳 Matt - of course! Thank You.

I think I’ve misspelled Mone’s name too.

Nick Hancock or Matt?

I haven't heard of Nick Hancock for years and was trying to work out what he had to do with lingerie. Now it's obvious it should have said Matt, thank you!

I would give money to have witnessed this.

Do you read the news or just start frothing?

It was a male collegue who alleges the aunts vagina joke, nothing mentioned about it being during the live show. Could have been a joke amongst workmates after filming was done.

Yes, TBF it inspires my DH to cook and we have some nice dishes for dinner as a result as DH likes the detail.

Ninja 11 in 1 sounds great I love our basic Air fryer but it's so limited due to one tiny basket😄

Correct and well put. His social filters may be completely different to the norm. He's been telling sexual jokes and had a sock on his cock didnt he?

Why are you defending this behaviour? There is nothing in a diagnosis of autism that signs off sexually predatory behaviour as OK.

ETA not that GW has a diagnosis of autism

LittleGreenDuck · 29/11/2024 19:48

I wasn't able to listen to the radio this morning, did Greg James address this on his breakfast show? They always seemed like such good mates and GW featured on the show a lot. I love Greg James and will be so disappointed if he doesn't drop GW.

Cos he told a few jokes? Its not the crime of the century. And maybe his ND meant he crossed the line with jokes. Theres plenty of wannabee comedians out there.

It's just jokes. There's no allegations of anything physical is there.

Hi Gregg! We were wondering when you would turn up!

I'm still waiting to have it explained to me what makes this remark a joke.

Exactly.

It's a condition to be managed so as to help people, it's not a get out of jail free card, an excuse to behave badly.

Greggg is my age. He grew up with a tv diet of men telling stupid offensive jokes, groping women, and thinking it was hilariously funny - see Compo in Last of the Summer Wine.

Hotflushesandchilblains · 29/11/2024 20:02

Pippy2022 · 29/11/2024 18:48

So why did no one tell him his comments were inappropriate AT THE TIME???

Its really hard. The culture of 'oh you know what so and so is like'. The fact it is an industry which is really hard to get into, which runs on personal connections and recommendations, and the fact the 'talent' were allowed to get away with murder as a matter of course.

I have been reading the comments about autism, and him having a child with it. Its possible he is on the spectrum. There is also research that says older fathers are more likely to have autistic children even when they are not autistic.

So, maybe he does not understand social norms due to ND. But I keep reflecting on the idea that it is not that men dont understand why women get upset about things - it is that they just dont care, because it is not important to them. And this whole thing smacks of that. He cant not have known. He just didnt give a shit and thought he could get away with it. Some guys even do this stuff to prove what they can get away with - its a way of propping up their egos.

No examples but many references to him telling near the knuckle jokes

I knew his 3rd wife through a friend, she hadn't long been married to her first husband when she "met" Gregg through Twitter, he'd replied to her tweet, or vice versa, but God knows how he managed to woo her - she was nearly 20 years younger, pretty, a teacher...I see they were only married 15 months, lucky escape for her I reckon!

Do you know the timeline as to when he took the kids and her alcoholism got her?

I'm not saying he has, but for me, this is the worst of his crimes if he's done so

Met some time after his first divorce in 1991
Son born around 1994
Daughter born around 1997
Married 1999
Divorced following his affair in 2004
Kids initially with her
She said he’d "never change" in explosive interview with People in 2009, warning his soon-to-be third wife not to settle down with him
He battled her for custody ‘as her alcoholism worsened’: no date
He won custody: no date
She died in 2017
[Sources: Express and Scum]

He also told Loose Women (2016) he was sexually abused aged 8 years.
And told Zoo magazine (2008) he was arrested for assault age 20, when he was a Millwall hooligan

Why do you think jokes about your aunt's genitals are more appropriate in front of colleagues than in front of contributors? Both are completely inappropriate, both have a terrible power imbalance in the presenter's favour.

Because you must live a sheltered life if you think all men are saints and never tell inappropriate jokes. Have you ever watched stand up like Jimmy Carr, Jim Jefffries etc, many jokes are sick but thats the point, and people often repeat them to friends and colleagues.

Erm, I was joking. But I feel much better for knowing he was joking about the taste of his aunt’s cunt and not its appearance, so thanks for putting me straight on that. 👍

He's not a comedian though.

I think it is really vulgar but that's not the same thing as being sheltered.

At risk of stating the obvious, we all say/do stuff with mates that’s totally inappropriate in the workplace.

The workplace is the workplace, whoever you’re talking to in it. He wasn’t employed as a ‘comedian’.
