Apologies if there is already a thread on this?

See attached screenshots

Looks like people have really been waiting on his downfall 🤭🤭

(Obviously, I know it's a serious matter for those who've been victimised by the guy, not being dismissive of them)

Just seems like he's really pissed off his fellow celebs

I’m just relieved that ‘gregging’ involves hats and not, as my twisted mind imagined, wanking using a sausage roll as a fleshlight

😄😄

So why did no one tell him his comments were inappropriate AT THE TIME???

They did. He got some kind of official warning in around 2018.

With or without his sock?! 🤔🤢

I'm sure he takes it off for her, loving husband that he is

@MumOfOneAllAlone Wrt Thieving Moan (one of Nick Hancock’s cronies, boy was Covid good to her). Years ago she wanted to promote her bras, so she employed Penny Lancaster to model them.

Then, she got Rachel Hunter, who was Rod’s ex wife, signed up. RH was considered a supermodel at the time, whereas Penny was not.

Once Thieving Moan had Rachel Hunter contracted, she dropped Penny, thus gaining herself lots of publicity. The tabloids loved it.

Rod didn’t spare his words. It must have been pretty humiliating for PL.

I think I’ve got that right, but stand to be corrected.

Harsh. He's actually quite nice. Tolerant.

Tolerant is definitely the word, working alongside greg

I hope this means the end of MC, it is so boring and just seems a waste of licence payers money. I mean it can't be that expensive to make.

Sorry to derail, but if you've never seen the footage of a half cut Sir Rod helping with the Scottish Cup draw then I urge you to do so now. It's comedy gold.

🤭🤭 don't be, sometimes you've got to find a bit of humour somewhere

I read an interview with Grace Dent who said the judges only eat one mouthful of each dish because they have so many of them to get through. Really hope the crew are getting the rest otherwise the thought of all that food waste is horrifying.

Did Philip Scofield say the same? I dont remember that

He didn't say he was autistic but he sat on the sofa with Holly and came out on a random Friday. She even looked so surprised

That was when I suspected something was afoot and lo and behold

He'd come out so that he couldn't be punished for his affair with the young guy

Controversial but I don't hate phil 😬 - i think he just had no mates left so lost his career. There's far worse in that industry

Yup, so many pearl clutchers on here who have no idea what they're talking about and claiming all autistic people are saints. The reality is they're just like anyone else. Ive spent a lot of time working with service users with autism and there were several with sexualised behaviours.

So then if people with autism are just like everyone else why are you using this condition to defend his behavior? Makes no sense.

PuffinCliffs · 29/11/2024 18:57

BigLugs · 29/11/2024 18:02

Bit of a stretch. Nobody is saying autistic people are sex pests, however some sex pests will of course have autism.

Hardly a stretch when you are saying people who call him scumbag specifically due to his behaviour as a sex pest are “belittling Gregory's condition”.

PinkArt · 29/11/2024 18:57

Pippy2022 · 29/11/2024 18:48

So why did no one tell him his comments were inappropriate AT THE TIME???

Because 99% of the people present for any of these incidents are freelancers, usually on a contract with a week's notice. If there is an issue between the presenter of a prime time show and a freelancer who could be replaced at a day's notice, who do you think would come out of that best?
Until the industry genuinely makes it safe for people to whistleblow, rather than paying lip service, people will need to protect themselves and their careers first.

EmotionalSupportPotato · 29/11/2024 19:00

DanielaDressen · 29/11/2024 18:02

I’m not so sure. My mum was autistic and while she wasn’t a sex pest as such (she did fling herself at married men actually so maybe she was) she had no filter at all. She was also extremely confident and full of herself.

Greg has an autistic child and there’s a lot of evidence that autism can run in families.

of course not everyone with autism will have no filter or make sexually incorrect jokes but some might.

Whether it’s true or not he’s probably going to be able to get a private diagnosis if he chooses to try and get one. Which is going to make things difficult for the bbc.

It's not going to make it difficult. Many of us live with autism and aren't sex pests..🙄

Pippy2022 · 29/11/2024 18:48

I do think nobody could tell him

Im giving it some thought now. With me, if someone sat me down and told me exactly how my behaviour was coming across I'd change it and be mortified. But if someone dropped subtle hints so they were protecting themselves but still 'saying something', I absolutely would not pick up on it, or would misunderstand

Not to defend this awful man, who, by the sounds of it, was not a bit inappropriate but actually causing harm

That video with Katy brand showed he knew exactly what he was doing

What a waste! Like you say, hopefully crew get the leftovers as yes, food waste completely unjustifiable in 2024.

My DH quite likes it as he loves cooking but when he puts it on it's like Groundhog day as it appears to be the 'semi-final' all of the time!

Oh wow! What a mess. Yeah the whole thing is embarrassing

I suppose if she's publically dropped penny and everyone speaking about it, rod has to act and defend her. If no-one knew, I wouldn't want him saying anything

He seems like a good husband to her at least although, like you, I stand to be corrected. I'm sure he's not squeaky clean

Yeah, I can never not see mone as the covid chancer, disgusting woman

Yeah, i feel the autism is irrelevant here

Whether he is autistic or not, (his mates aee saying he seems it ) he's a man with power who has abused it and caused the suffering of women and was generally going around pestering women and disturbing the peace

Plus, I'm trying to find out about this ex wife of his who died as I suspect there's more there

"Flashing" is only a criminal offence if the intention is to cause alarm or distress. A man taking all his clothes off and sprinting across the court at Wimbledon for example wouldn't count. A man jumping out from behind the bushes in the woods, or exposing himself to you when you're alone in a lift together would.

Barrowman's tedious jokes should be a sacking offence in the workplace, but wouldn't be criminal because the intention plausibly was just to make people laugh and think "oh, that John, he's such a character"/ or, less charitably, as an expression that he's the Alpha Male on set and doesn't have to play by the rules.

Really interesting points, which relate back to the video @HarrietBond‘s shared (thanks Harriet 🙂).

I’d add it might be worth consideration this may be a greater problem in certain sectors, such as the worlds of broadcasting, entertainment, the arts and fashion.

In those sectors, employment rights can be more shaky (e.g. lack of accountability in recruitment/induction practices, such as when casting ‘talent’) and people can be freelance and/or employed by contractors (e.g. production companies).

Plus, the notion of acceptable, professional behaviour/working culture can be very different than in other sectors, such as business or public services. Basically, in the creative industries, maybe it’s more likely discriminatory or abusive behaviour (such as sexualised talk and even shouting) is brushed off as how ‘creative types’ behave or due to the eccentricities of their ‘character’, e.g. cheeky working class chappie or outrageous luvvie.

Yeah the format is a bit weird 🤭

I like to watch it to get food inspo but like the recipes on my Pinterest, I've never made them

Although I did just get my ninja foodi 11 in 1 today so well so maybe I'll try to make some 🤭🤭

Does anyone know when celeb masterchef was due to be on TV?

This doesn’t surprise me but I’m mildly curious to know why/how he knows what his aunt’s vagina looks like. I wonder why his colleagues have never told him his “jokes” aren’t funny or appropriate.

Its a joke. Allegedly one he made 20 years ago. Besides, it was how the dish tasted not how it looked.
