To think that this week, as court decides what the legal definition of a woman is, that the Scottish Government (and others) aren't fit for purpose?

The meaning of what a woman is, is supposedly being hammered out in court this week.
How many of you know we are being reclassified this week?

"If the Supreme Court rules that a man can become a woman because he declares it to be so - and vice versa - then the sex-based protections provided by the Equality Act will become meaningless.
After all, how does one protect - or even begin to consider - the rights of women if to be a woman is nothing more than a feeling?"

YANBU - To think that this week, as court decides what the legal definition of a woman is, that the Scottish Government aren't fit for purpose and neither is anyone else in senior positions who can't understand why biology is important.

YABU - Gender identity is more important than the sex based rights of women. Woman is an idea and anyone can identify as one.

It beggars belief that any woman would take a stance that removes her sex based rights and protections in law as well as those of lesbians.

Who is against it and why? What do you think they should do about it?

WandsOut · 26/11/2024 11:18

For a start, this woman is posting about it here hoping that other women will see what's happening to us because we are not being told the truth about what the ramifications are when we are being "kind" and saying that "transwomen are women."

We will lose everything.
We are losing everything.

This is a men's rights movement which will protect and enable male predators.

The only way to stop it is by a huge amount of public pressure. But unless women are told what is at stake, what can they do?

WandsOut · 26/11/2024 11:19

@OhNotNow

What are YOU going to do about it?

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 26/11/2024 11:29

I was listening this morning and they said about the transwoman placed in a woman's jail on suspicion of rape.

Just how?

Only men, males, can rape.

Only men/males have a penis - a biological requirement to be able to commit the crime of rape.

How the feckitty feck would anyone think putting them in a woman's prison was correct?

And no man should be allowed into a woman's prison after rape until they've had their dick chopped off - would solve more than 1 problem!

And why would a man who thinks they're a woman or identifies as a woman use their manhood as a weapon?

Just read this on the BBC news.

Taytoface · 26/11/2024 12:53

If these judges decree that a piece of paper actually changes someone's sex in the all for all intents and purposes, any man who professes to be a woman and shells out for the legal fiction of a gender recognition certificate can

Share any and all spaces with you and your daughters such as;
Changing rooms
Rape crisis support groups and centres
Prison cells
Bathrooms
Womens only events and trips
Provide intimate care if a health care worker

Apply for jobs ring fenced for women

Be on women only short lists

Demand they be referred to as women at all times

Take part in grass roots women's sports.

If in the police, strip search women.

It is mental.

@OhNotNow I donated a small sum to the crowd funder. Trivial, in the grand scheme of things, I know.
I do hope the SC apply common sense.

@Taytoface There's also the disturbing case of the male nurse who insists he's a woman, and insists on changing in the women's locker room. Apparently he has a girlfriend, he has had no surgery, nor does he plan any, he does not take hormones, nor does he plan to take any, he has no GRC, and does not plan to get one. But he does claim to be a woman, and the real women have to put up with him in their locker room. The law is an absolute ass right now.

Brefugee · 26/11/2024 13:55

Look at all those who said they would boycott marks and Spencer when they started allowing men into female changing rooms....only to continue shopping there, especially the ones on here.

You can't know that. I'm boycotting M&S (even though I'm not in UK often)
But women are in danger of losing their jobs etc - it's not as easy as "just speaking up"

We need men's voices. Lots of them

Taytoface · 26/11/2024 14:04

The tribunal tweets are well worth a read. The lawyer for for women Scotland making a really good case that if GRCs legally change sex then in a single sex say gynae ward, a bio female with a GRC would not be allowed in, but a bio male with a GRC would, despite not having ovaries and a vagina. He is doing a fab job of bringing the nonsense creates by this legal fiction to life.

@OhNotNow so….be quiet, don’t have an opinion online or in any forum that you wish, unless it’s an ‘approved’ one? Who makes this defined list so we know which ones are allowed??

YellowAsteroid · 26/11/2024 14:19

YANBU.

The thing that makes me very angry is the assumption that a man, or men,. think they can decide for themselves and change the fundamental definition of a woman is.

No man can ever be a woman, whether or not he likes to present himself as one (in usually an extremely superficial way).

Imagine if I told an indigenous Australian that I was identifying as Koori or Wadigal (or wherever), and that because I had this inner sense of being Koori, I really was ?

It would be seen as racist and rightly so.

Yet men can tell women what we are.

This is what really makes me angry - not all the lavatories, sports etc. This very very fundamental thing : the existence of biological girls and women.

But this has been tried, its now incredibly difficult for women to get together IRL, look at the physical violence at Posy Parker meetings, bomb threats at Womens Place meetings. I have attended both and many of us had to secretly meet up.

FOJN · 26/11/2024 14:51

Rachelfromaccounts · 26/11/2024 09:00

Seriously how has it come to this?

The women who raised the alarm were deplatformed, lost jobs and were threatened with violence from TRA's.

Mainstream media refused to cover it because they feared backlash from TRA's and loss of advertising revenue.

Ordinary women were banned from social media for attempting to discuss the issue or found themselves in court for stating facts about biology.

A politician claimed men could grow a cervix with the right combination of hormones, another suggested it wasn't right to say only women have a cervix, yet another claimed babies were born without a sex. They said they would expel anyone who didn't agree with them from the party.

On Mumsnet language was policed and any thread on a high traffic board was swiftly shunted of to the feminist section but not before anyone expressing concern about women's rights and safeguarding had been told they were a bigot by quite a number of other posters. TRA's would target and report posts by specific posters, they even bragged on twitter about getting a poster who happened to be very knowledgeable about safeguarding banned.

I could write a much longer list but these are just a few examples of how women have been silenced for trying to raise awareness about this issue over the last decade or more.

WandsOut · 26/11/2024 15:07

@OhNotNow so you came on here to berate women for talking on a thread about something they need to discuss and raise awareness of.

Then you say that you yourself aren't going to do anything unless everyone does something?

What are you, a sheep?

bombastix · 26/11/2024 15:11

The case is thoroughly mad and I hope the SC acknowledge biological reality as the meaning.

However, I would be quite worried if they decided to drop the ball and effectively say it was a political decision for Parliament. That is a possible outcome.

WandsOut · 26/11/2024 15:11

Grumbling online
😅😅😅😅

Shut up stupid women!

OP posts:
WandsOut · 26/11/2024 15:18

@OhNotNow you do realise that women are working dismantling this shitshow price by piece, policy by policy, behind the scenes in a myriad of different ways including raising awareness. You do realise that women across all industries are working in fear because they will lose their jobs and have to find ways of communicating with each other across the culture of silence that has sprung up around this. You do realise that some of the women here are supporting children whose mental health has been messed up by this and that women are working in a hundred different ways every single day to counter the threats of gender ideology on the safety of women and children.

How dare you accuse any woman here of not doing enough despite saying you won't lift a finger yourself.
How lazy, accusatory and quite frankly, disrespectful and ill informed of what goes on behind the scenes whilst you wait for some big fireworks.

If not now, when. If not you, who? Instead of grumbling about women talking on her you could have written a letter to Amnesty for example. Why didn't you?
