Nikita had such terrible bruising, a paramedic hasn't seen such extensive bruising, she had to have a tampon removed from her cervix, she's had her house/car attacked, mum threatened, intruders broke into her home and tried to stab her bf/ threatening her and her bf he tried to pay her off in 2019 for a million, she said no I want justice.

Woman wins civil rape case against Conor McGregor

A civil action was taken by Nikita Hand who had accused McGregor of raping her in a Dublin hotel in 2018.

The description used in court was "athletic sex" which is forever going to tar that word for me now.

I'm so relieved that the jury believed her.

Fuck me. This is sickening.

Regarding the rights and wrongs of Dee Devlin standing by her man and remaining in a relationship with CMG, if she left for somewhere anonymous as suggested by pp, then surely the Hague Convention would apply regarding the children?

However, assuming she would be able to escape to a non Convention country, the chances of his organised criminal mates tracking her down are huge.

No win. On the other hand, there is a chance that the high life suits her despite everything. That would be my guess given the circles they move in. I could be wrong though, but that's what I suspect.

As for Nikita, I am so proud of her courage and grit in facing this thug down. The chances of her being targeted are high I'd say, but I hope her life is peaceful going forward. It's not the winning of the case here, great and all as that was, it is the personal price paid by her both now and in the future.

I suspect there's a bit of 'Madonna/ whore' complex with the scumbag and Dee. She's not like the rest of them she's his perfect girlfriend and cheerleader etc. She's basically his indulgent mammie ('boys will be boys' with their coke and cheating and raping other women) only he gets to have sex with her too. She gets to live a lifestyle she can only have with a wealthy man.

Lallydallydune · 23/11/2024 11:18

From talking to a lot of different people this week, no one thinks that dee looks good.

I do think it's easier for her to go alone with his multi millionaire lifestyle than leave him so she'll put up with anything.

Does anyone know how Nikita was able to bring a civil case given how beyond reach the expense must be? Did an organisation help her?

I am asking as maybe other raped women could get justice thus way.

There are solicitors that do

"no win no fee cases"

in Ireland and the UK.

For rape cases that the CPS has rejected?

mollyfolk · 23/11/2024 13:10

It's the DPP.

The burden of proof is lower in civil cases. Between her strong medical evidence and her credibility when she was on the stand, they may have thought she had a good shot.

Flux1 · 23/11/2024 13:31

A decision on legal osts has not been made yet. The court will decide on that next week. Cost is expected ro be over a million. Please God they will be charged ro CMcG

Edited

Why wouldn't they. Criminal and civil cases are very different.

You need a lower probability to win a civil case.

It wouldn't hurt them to do this one for no fee. But if she wins they will get paid.

PotatoLove · 23/11/2024 18:18

Wow. I hadn't heard of this. Absolutely awful.

AKA her boyfriend?

hihelenhi · 23/11/2024 18:33

So being beaten black and blue and a tampon having to removed from her cervix (with him claiming "rough sex" while the mother of his kids had to stand and listen to it) not enough evidence of rape for you?

The jury didn't agree.

You do know that kissing men doesn't mean you can't be raped, don't you?

Interesting to see if any other women come forward; there have been quite a few before from what I gather. Man thought he was untouchable, didn't he?

AKA her boyfriend?

No. Not her boyfriend. The CCTV footage of her next day is with James Lawrence, Conor's friend.

Indeed.

There are women that excuse these vile sick violent men.

Because it is a civil case, not a criminal one. She brought an action against him ie she sued him. So she gets damages. In a criminal case, the Crown prosecutes someone and if they are found guilty they are sentenced. That isn’t possible with a civil case.

We are talking about Ireland here. It’s not the Crown that brings prosecution, it’s the State.

And? It doesn’t change the point I was making. Get over yourself.

Raineys · 23/11/2024 19:09

He is utter scum, and so is his entire circle.

It is shameful that the Irish Department of Justice didn't go after him with the shocking medical evidence and testimony.

She is amazing and now everyone knows he is a rapist.

Danielle9891 · 23/11/2024 19:24

Vile man, unfortunately a lot of reports suddenly get taken down from the internet or people are scared to report or are getting paid off.

I've seen a few different videos of him grabbing different women at nightclubs, even in front of his partner. He fathered a child in Liverpool (supposedly) and paid the mother to keep quiet. It was all over the newspapers then suddenly stopped. He's that big headed he would have done a post if it was proven to be untrue. Also, seen photos of him sniffing what was reported as coke, only for all these reports to disappear. It looks like he pays people off.

Nikita did amazing. I would never have her strength or resilience to take someone like him to court. I would have just taken the 1 million that according to her evidence said he had apparently offered her. I wonder if he's paid others off as well.

Yes I was just clarifying who was on the footage. As one of the posters thought the CCTV the next day was of Nikita with her boyfriend.

Yes james lawrence was found to be not liable for any rape

What power does she have?

Serious question. If she wants to keep herself and her children safe, what power does she have?

So, you would ignore his behaviours. Those 4 kids will become adults soon. I find that more frightening.
