If your Dh owned this coat, would you make it mysteriously ‘Disappear’

I hate it!

He has lots of lovely clothes, new coat this winter, but always pulls this horror out. A hillbilly, scruffy, donkey jacket.
I realise it’s up to him what he wants to wear and he’s a grown man and it would be wrong for it to mysteriously‘Disappear’

But…would you make this coat mysteriously disappear?

No.
It's fine.

StasisMom · 21/11/2024 17:56

I'd be more than tempted yes...

restingbitchface30 · 21/11/2024 17:59

My fiancée (30) dresses like an old man. Wears his dads old man jumpers and the most hideous coat ever. And no not in a ‘let’s wear this to make it cool’ way. But I’m not bothered. Since we had our twins we both leave the house looking like shit most days. Let him live his life!

Atsocta · 21/11/2024 18:04

Aww no … Don’t be a meany 🤨 or control freak 😳

toxic44 · 21/11/2024 18:04

No I wouldn't. The coat isn't yours to throw away. You don't dispose of stuff that doesn't belong to you. I'd raise hell if DH got rid of anything of mine.

Billydavey · 21/11/2024 18:05

DazedAndConfused321 · 21/11/2024 17:50

It's a joke...

Why is it funny?

Tink3rbell30 · 21/11/2024 18:09

No that's snakey and controlling.

Soberinthecity · 21/11/2024 18:09

Boing98 · 20/11/2024 15:47

No, because I'm not abusive or controlling.

This 👆🏻

Thulsas · 21/11/2024 18:10

Absolutely not. How would you like it if a clothing item you really like or maybe your makeup gets thrown out by him? My wife has quite a few clothing items I don't like. I raised my opinion about them and that's it. If she really likes them and I love her, I have to accept it. From time to time she likes to put on makeup. I really can't stand it as she is such a beautiful person and the makeup doesn't improve anything, it only hides her beauty. She knows I don't like makeup but she wants to do it for herself and who am I to think of forbidding it (and secretly making it disappear is in my eyes a way of forbidding it, just without saying it).
If you love him, get over yourself. It's a jacket, nothing else

Pinkdhalia · 21/11/2024 18:11

I'd get it cleaned professionally and let him wear it , it's his signature jacket? So No don't get rid of it!

CrazyAndSagittarius · 21/11/2024 18:14

Yes I would disappear the cost. I'd also tell him it was hideous beforehand to give hm lots of opportunity to correct his error first 😂

Mirabai · 21/11/2024 18:14

It doesn’t really bother me, it looks very warm. It does need a clean though.

I’d be much more concerned about a buzz cut or tattoos.

cornflakecrunchie · 21/11/2024 18:24

Aww, I bet he's cuddly in it, though!
For all those with no sense of humour & 'what if it was your clothes', I did used to like a Chanel type suit, I had a few & loved them.
DH used to call them my 'jam & Jerusalem' suits! :-0 How RUDE, lol!
(I got rid of them because he didn't like me in them!)

Jack80 · 21/11/2024 18:25

No its up to my husband how he dresses.

oldmoaner · 21/11/2024 18:32

Leave your DH alone he must like it and bet it's lovely and warm. Don't we all have our comfort clothes, shoes, boots, coats etc. How would you like it if he binned something of yours you loved?

fortheloveofgumball · 21/11/2024 18:36

Can I have it???😁

Freysimo · 21/11/2024 18:43

I often chuck out/ give to charity shop DH's clothes. He rarely notices. Get rid, it's awful.

Pixiedust88 · 21/11/2024 18:53

How would you feel if your husband threw some of your clothes because he hates them? My husband has loads of scruffy joggers for lazing around the house in which I absolutely hate but would never dream of chucking his stuff out

TamborineGal · 21/11/2024 18:55

When asked......
'Haven't seen it in ages'
Nuff said x

Are you sure your husband is not my husband? 😂😂
Mine has a similar one and I hate it sooooo much! Can’t make it disappear though as he would probably kill me. That is how much he loves it.

moaningmyrtle4 · 21/11/2024 19:14

Take it to the dry cleaner and “forget to pick it up” 😅😅😅

sabbii · 21/11/2024 19:26

Hard to work out from the photo but surely it can be cleaned and brushed or just send it to pro cleaners. You'll be amazed how things get a new lease of life

Daddydog · 21/11/2024 19:29

Nooooo.... let it be 😂 I had one of these jackets (loved it) before it ended up mysteriously disappearing when my partner moved in. My beloved trainer-sandals also vanished around the same time. I wonder if there was a connection ? 😂

DilemmaDelilah · 21/11/2024 19:31

I freely admit I have not RTFL, so somebody else may already have pointed this out.... but that's not a donkey jacket

Yes donkey jackets are black, often with a tartan lining ime, fashionable in the 80s.

I agree op, this needs to go so if you can't smuggle it out in a charity bag and deny all knowledge I'd accidentally spill something on it Grin.
