I'll kick it off with Fairy Liquid!
Has anyone else noticed this? I have a dishwasher but often wash certain things, eg my big frying pan, by hand. You'd certainly need a mighty big squeeze these days, for a proper foamy lather.
Anything else? If nobody mentions Cadbury's chocolate, I will eat the Oodie I'm currently wearing Grin

Anyone know where good quality T-shirts can still be bought? Paid £30 for one at Mint Velvet and after the first wash it was so thin it was virtually see through.

M&S
Matalan

Another vote for everything.

Nothing bloody lasts.

Deodorant is either crap or I've turned into a hormonal sweaty bitch. The only decent one is Dove and even that becomes ineffective once you are halfway through the can.

Spices don't have flavour anymore.

Womens clothing, but weirdly not mens. It's really see through and bobbly.

Food in general. Sweeteners in bloody everything, even food that isn't meant to be sweet.

I tend to buy t-shirts from surf shops now in the sale (if you don't mind motifs on them and that's your style). They are usually decent quality. Places like M and M Direct do some brands (not just teeny sportswear) that is quite cheap.

Not sure about plain ones for work/smart casual. I'm yet to find a good brand for this.

Shopping is a bit of a gamble online and frustrating in store because you have to sift through a ton of crap to find quality.

Arraminta · 18/11/2024 15:40

And another one. WTF have they done to Ribena? It used to be really thick and syrupy and kinda glooped out of the bottle.

Now it's really thin and runny, no different to buying Robinson's squash.

I want a proper, syrupy cordial to dilute with hot water. Where can I find one?

sweetsardineface · 18/11/2024 15:52

British Airways

sweetsardineface · 18/11/2024 15:53

M&S dishwashing liquid is excellent and cruelty free.

sweetsardineface · 18/11/2024 15:54

Sorry, on a roll now, but all wool jumpers and cardigans. No matter how much I pay, they all pill like crazy.

Yes. If anyone can give advice on where to get properly high quality, long lasting wool and cashmere, please tell me.

There is a time and a place for drinks like the old recipe ribena. If you’ve had a stomach bug and can’t keep any food down it can be really useful. The new ribena tastes of nothing but chemicals and contains no proper sugar so I never buy it. Surely they have just lost their entire market by changing the recipe to something undrinkable? Can’t we be trusted to drink it only occasionally?

Bottle Green cordials are lovely. I’ve also recently got into Teisseire Grenadine syrup from Waitrose.

It was also great hot if you had a cold and wanted a comforting hot drink with loads of Vitamin C. I used to make a flask full.

Kitchen appliances (our first dishwasher did 27 years, second didn’t make it through the Guarantee period of 2 years….never buy Smeg is now branded on my brain cells)

New build Houses….or as I think of them, thrown up dog kennels. Granted, £1million pound plus ones aren’t too bad.

All the old fashioned chocolate brands, Cadbury, Nestles, Fry’s, etc….. all now swallowed up by multi nationals that churn out inedible pap.

Cars……amorphous blobs lacking any kind of character, little choice on colour, and in the case of LR’s appalling reliability.

National Curriculum anyone?

Some terrible politicians, who seem to lack a personal moral code or even common sense.

Loads more I could list but it’s too depressing, so I say hurrah for the mobile phone and the internet, used wisely of course😁

I suspect with Fairy they've relabelled the old one to be Platinum and the normal one is a rubbish new one.

Yes, I thought this too. Obviously no way of testing this!

Defiantly toilet roll.
Cereal boxes...all flimsy
Mars Bars and After Eights..the choc is awful

@NonPlayerCharacter &Daughter are pricey but amazing quality wool and cashmere. Occasionally you find them on The Outnet but I usually buy in their sale.

Pitta breads - they are so small. Basically tiny brown flaps devoid of structural integrity.

Chocolate and chocolate flavoured things like cake. Basically sweaty, brown, hardened vegetable oil.

Cheese slices. No longer able to melt, and someone’s decided to take out all the salt/flavour

Crisp Crisis. Where have all the imitation skips gone from Morrisons and waitrose? Why has someone taken out all that lovely salt and replaced it with garlic power?

Try Mr Fitzpatrick's cordials.

You can order online so they're no longer restricted to Northerners (of which I'm one but now living 'darn sarf')

I'm addicted to the lemon and cucumber one (despite usually hating lemon drinks and indeed cucumber).

Thank you. I used to buy their Spiced Berry cordial every Winter but can't find it anywhere this year?

Arraminta · 18/11/2024 18:35

We should start a thread on products that are still really good quality and don't disappoint.

Exasperateddonut · 18/11/2024 22:00

I had a starbar earlier. Either I’ve got covid or they are really shit now and taste of nothing.

Looks likes Sainsbury’s does! https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/bottlegreen-winter-spiced-berry-cordial-500ml £3.30 Nectar price is pretty good, too.

Waitrose sells it too. Also Rocks Blackcurrant squash is nice too.

Arraminta · 19/11/2024 08:57

Thank you! Going to call in to Waitrose later now.
