Of course you're unreasonable (says an atheist).

SausageRoll2020 · 17/11/2024 09:09

I'm going to take a gamble here and presume that the church was there before you moved in nearby...

YABU

OhshutupSimonyounobhead · 17/11/2024 09:09

Yabu. I used to live opposite a church and loved hearing them ring out. Folks are so miserable these days.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/11/2024 09:10

Did you not notice the church when you moved in?

Wakeywake · 17/11/2024 09:10

😂

roastiepotato · 17/11/2024 09:10

Is this a brand new church that has popped up since you've moved?

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 17/11/2024 09:11

Was the church already there when you moved into the house or was it built after you bought your home and if so, did you make the effort to object to the planning application of a new church bell tower?

Fireworknight · 17/11/2024 09:11

Yes! You are being unreasonable.

Nogaxeh · 17/11/2024 09:11

Bells are for ringing.

Bellringers need to practice and the church will naturally want to use its bells for services.

It would be sad if they all fell silent.

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 17/11/2024 09:12

Church bells ringing are literally the most Christian thing, given that they call Christians to worship 🤷🏻‍♀️

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/11/2024 09:12

did you not notice the huge church when you brought the house?

RubberyChicken · 17/11/2024 09:12

Maybe its a spin off from girls aloud

Isxmasoveryet · 17/11/2024 09:13

Due to circumstances didnt have a choice on location and was unaware they would ring for several hours at a time due to anxiety and stress it drives me mad and at times feels like torture last Sunday was 5'5 hours of it non stop it over 3 hours twice a week

Church bells are lovely YABU, perhaps become a church ringer so it doesn't annoy you so much 😀

UnimaginableWindBird · 17/11/2024 09:13

I'm enjoying the church bells ringing right now. I find the sound really comforting, knowing that it's something that has gone on regularly in the same place for 1000 years. There are many, many more annoying sounds.

Rhayader · 17/11/2024 09:13

The church has been there longer than you

Isxmasoveryet · 17/11/2024 09:13

Use ear defenders , turn your music up, find God. Plenty of options.

Singleandproud · 17/11/2024 09:14

Buy some noise cancelling headphones if it bothers you that much Anker Soundcore one on Amazon are great and regularly go down to £35

What times are we talking?

drspouse · 17/11/2024 09:14

Are you getting help for your anxiety?

Clawdy · 17/11/2024 09:15

I would love to hear church bells! Unless it was the middle of the night, which isn't very likely!

roastiepotato · 17/11/2024 09:15

Hopefully you won't be in the hostel long. I'm sorry you've found yourself in a difficult situation

Loop ear phones.

I love the sound of church bells, it's a nice way to wake up on a Sunday morning.
