She was at school the entire time she was abused (and she was abused from birth) apart from April- July 2022 and school holiday period.

Absolutely fucking disgusting. Schools running around ticking boxes reaching targets and failing basic human compassion and care.

Ytcsghisn · 14/11/2024 08:45

Where was the mother when all this going on?

Couple of posts up has some info. TL;Dr version - Sara was ordered to live with her mother, but her mother maintained full rights. She was able to see her kids regularly initially, but eventually they started telling her that they didn't want to see her anymore, with the step-mother telling her to stop calling, and the father stopped sending them.

No idea whether she tried to regain contact through the authorities, but given she wasn't native to the UK and had already been serially abused by Sara's father, it's possible she didn't know where to start or have the support to do that.

thecatfromjapan · 14/11/2024 08:55

The family courts, in their current iteration, just aren't fit for purpose, imho.
They still take too little account of what we know are patterns of abuse. They still model themselves too much on the model of ordinary courts & just don't take enough account of what we know about how abuse - domestic and child - is perpetrated & its effects & by whom.
It's madness.

Tbf, they raised the issues with SS, who said 'no action'.
Imm not surprised, Surrey SS have been inadequate for ages and just scraped into requires improvements.
Around time Sara's school was making referral, we had 3 made against us by SEN dept of same council. They do it to each parent who fights them. Can you imagine how many of these (from SEN dept) they get? And then they miss those big cases.
We home educate now but when my child was without school place for two years, not a single person from council checked on him. Different now we home ed.
Those that go on and on about HE checks have no idea that process and checks already exists for those that are at school and then EHE. It's just comes down to money and staffing again.

The school did report safeguarding concerns and bruises to social services

She was then removed from school.

GreyRockinRock · 14/11/2024 09:40

'Honour ' killings are not a thing imo.
What they are, are pre planned murders of women and girls, perpetrated by family members (and or others connected)
There is NOTHING honourable about that.
Can we just call it murder?

Another child dies, people did nothing.
Lessons will be learned after ££££ spent on an enquiry.... blah blah.
It's always they same. I've yet to see these lessons in practice.
Very difficult if money for services isn't there! Low moral and an ever changing staff turnover (I know one family who have had 4 different SW and 2 different HV in a year (because of staff resignation). The consistency needed in a case like Sara's surely cannot be met with the state of the services as they stand.
The fact custody was given to this waste of oxygen gives me no faith in family courts and any woman facing them should be afraid.

Peonies007 · 14/11/2024 09:41

Lots more came up yesterday, inc that father shared belt with his brother (and likely dna transfer that way) and how and when beatings happened. Warning, it's quite horrible.

Perhaps it's a combination of being older, spending time in schools and utter rage and sadness but I'm sick of hearing this nonsense.

Look at silly programmes like Call the Midwife. Made up and saccarine. But how the hell have we moved from sensible, empathic professionals ( usually women) keeping an eye to this beaurocratic empire.

I wonder if she was sexually abused although there aren’t any mentions of that. Her father is a monster and I wonder what was going through his head to order stuff on amazon and make a hood so to silence her screams ;(((

There were teeth marks on her inner thigh 😔The step mum refused to have a mold taken of her teeth 😔

It seems her being a drugged out abuser are true

Nikitaspearlearring · 14/11/2024 11:22

I wonder what her siblings saw or experienced? They must've known it was happening, at the very least. Those poor children.

It doesn't bear thinking about, I can't imagine how traumatised they would be

I wonder if any of the others (particularly the older brother) were removed from school at the same time? Presumably they weren't encouraged/allowed to have friends home

Slowgrowingelm · 14/11/2024 11:51

@CocoDC do you know that for sure? It seems there were allegations made under fairly dubious circumstances?

On the day she died a child from the home sent a text to a friend telling them that Sara is dead.

It is terrible. Hopefully the siblings can be protected and given the help they will undoubtedly need after living such traumatic lives.

GreyRockinRock · 14/11/2024 13:09

@Plastictrees they need to be bought back from Pakistan first. I think someone upthread said they were left with the paternal grandfather.

I have no idea if they are able to access mental health support where they are living atm but for sure those adults have damaged all of those children imo.

sre123 · 14/11/2024 13:47

The children are in a Pakistani children's home.

There's currently an application in the high court in Lahore to move them back to the UK.

The parents fled to Pakistan to evade justice.

The only reason why they came back was because the situation got too hot for them in Pakistan.

Pakistani police searched all the houses of their family in Pakistan and they were scared of being beaten to pulp by the police.

That's the only reason they came back, because they knew they would be treated better in the UK.

MidnightMeltdown · 14/11/2024 15:32

They took her out to home school her. School* reported bruises yes.*

This is the part I don't understand. How does this even happen? If the school reported bruises and then she's suddenly removed from school, then surely that's a big fat red flag staring social services in the face.

It's a total failing of the system.

And they will be. They’ll be given a few token years in prison and out on parole. Living off the taxpayer’s dime. Taking the piss.

Becuase ‘it’s youmun rights, innit’

Indu29 · 14/11/2024 15:43

I'm reading articles of sara. On one bbc article, it mentions how in 2022 she was playing with her baby brother on the bed. And her father slaps her on the face.
Sara is smiling
Her father slaps her 3 times until she shouts "Hey!"
This man does not deserve to be a father at all. Hes a manipulator and I am 100% sure he is the main perpetrator here.
I really hope they find him guilty of murder and manslaughter.
Poor sara did not stand a chance with either of her parents.

Investinmyself · 14/11/2024 17:05

I think the 5 siblings were initially in care in Pakistan but now in care of grandfather after he raised concerns re their care.

safeguarding concerns

makes me puke, the terminology.

Because abusers are believed if they cry 'false allegation' and 'parental alienation' and they frame the victim as the perpetrator.

I have just found out that he was an abuser who got custody, and came on here to see if anyone here knew more.

How could he have ended up with full custody?
