My cat is missing

My cat has gone missing and I’m not coping . She’s honestly the most gorgeous and special animal you could imagine. She’s so loving and friendly and playful. She was born the same time as my latest DC and they’ve been growing up together.

She went out last night and didn’t come back. Partner and I were up every hour looking for her. This morning we’ve texted all the neighbours, posted in local WhatsApp and fbk groups, called the vet, reporting her missing on her microchip, put little and dirty clothes, food outside… we are going to print some leaflets and posters .. anything else?

our neighbour said he saw her last night when his dog chased her round the corner 😡.

Yes! Thank you so much for asking. I was meaning to update this thread. I found our darling cat Weds evening. It turned out she had been hit by a car Monday night and had crawled injured into a bush to hide. She was there for almost 48 hours before I found her 🥺. I wouldn’t necessarily have thought to look in that spot, except that someone responded to a post I made on fb saying that they had seen her there late Monday night and that was the last sighting of her. Vet says no broken bones/ internal bleeding, so the car must have just bumped/ grazed her, but the poor thing is in so much pain and struggling to mobilize. We are giving her so much love and everything she needs at home so hopefully she will make a full recovery. ❤️‍🩹 I am so beyond relieved and grateful that we found her.

Thank you all so much for your encouragement and support, it really kept me going and distracted me during those awful days when she was missing.

My top tips based on my experience for anyone who has lost a cat and may be reading this thread this in the future:

• post in all the local/ community fb / WhatsApp groups.
• Look in all the hedges/ bushes nearby your property and surrounding roads/ areas . I had assumed that my cat must have gone really far (or was trapped in somewhere) because she always comes if I call her, but I hadn’t considered that she might be hiding / unable to come because she was badly injured (until my neighbour’s horrible story!) She was actually found in a bush only about 200 metres from our home.
• Look in all directions around your house - even ones you wouldn’t think she would usually wander .

I have a tractive tacker for my cat, I’ll be honest it is expensive to run as you have to get a subscription, but it is worth it to me because I am such a worrier and my cat means so much to me, I’d be beside myself if she was lost. Sending you and puss much love.

So glad to read she's home, such a worry as they really are part of the family.

Ours went missing for 24 hours so we've now got a tractive tracker as well - highly recommend despite cost as you do know where they are and can set up zones for it to ping you when they go too far.

so happy you have found your cat! just to say that when my mother's cat vanished he was discovered locked in her bedroom wardrobe - he's not very vocal so it was completely by chance that he was found
