TW death etc I think it’s a conspiracy theory but I’m afraid to google!

someone was telling me about embalmers having to pull ‘stuff’ out of the veins since Covid/vaxines.

My natural instinct is to declare it total guff. Generally I’d use snopes or similar. But I don’t want to read conspiracy nonsense!

Are we experiencing unusual deaths since Covid/vaccines? I have a relative with an unexpected, unusual heart condition.
Could anyone oblige with actual information rather than conspiracy theories? To be honest I think I am being v v unreasonable to ask but I’m mulling on it.

Blood clots? Seeing as Covid is now known to be a blood clotting disorder?

Notmoog · 07/11/2024 18:59

"One of the few things I said in response was "eh, no, most vaccines don't stop you from contracting something, they're supposed to stop you from dying or experiencing serious problems from it". This was news apparently."
It would be news to them if they missed the change in definition of vaccine in 2021.
Until then vaccines were defined as preventing the disease from actually taking hold so to speak, not just reduce ( possibly) the symptoms

Why are people so dumb about a bloody vaccine? If you’d rather have the disease then go for it 🙄

This!! People are happy to take all other vaccines and indeed treatment if they get ill, yet are fixated on the Covid vaccine being some big con/control/evil thing. Does my head in.

I heard similar from a maintenance man; also stated that the vaccines were supposed to stop us from getting COVID and didn't!

One of the few things I said in response was "eh, no, most vaccines don't stop you from contracting something, they're supposed to stop you from dying or experiencing serious problems from it". This was news apparently.

I think you need to go back and remember what we were told in the beginning. We were told it would stop us getting covid and there would be a very small chance of contracting it after getting the vaccine. They changed the narrative when they realised it wasn't effective to you will get it but it won't be that bad so he is right.

The 'red stuff' was most likely blood.
Probably avoided touching it as a matter of routine hygiene.

And starting anything with 'I swear this is true' tends to be as believable as a 14yr old boy launching a story about this model that met on holiday with his parents but she goes to another school so you wouldn't know her.

Have you not heard of wit and sarcasm FFS?

@VictoriaAlbert Conspiracy theorists are incredibly open minded. So much so, their brains generally fall out and roll under something too heavy to lift and all that’s left is ‘pigeons control 5g and vaccines allow you to hear the news through your fillings’ phrases.

What do you think of the conspiracy theorists who were insisting it was man made in a lab?

alottobedone · 07/11/2024 19:05

On a serious note, from memory, Covid19 was being researched in relation to being a disease of the blood, thinner veins were affected long term from memory, and there were a number of unusual and pretty awful symptoms and effects, and as pp has said many of the long term effects are still not well understood. It is quite possible that the increase in deaths, heart attacks, etc, is related to Covid19 itself.

I think that the situation is tragic enough without conspiracy theories, especially those pushed around by people who do no research at all about what good science says. At the time of the worst of Covid there were so many well informed altruistic posters trying to explain things and getting ignored. I am not against conspiracy theories, and indeed some conspiracy theories have historically held water, but in relation to Covid19 not so much.

Have you heard of humour? It highly contagious though so perhaps best avoided

Some people have, though, apparently had a very effective vaccine.

HippoCamping · 07/11/2024 19:09

Love to know what the stuff is and how they pull it out!
Embalmers can earn up to £35000 - and no A levels needed.

They drain the blood and replace with fluid, I don’t think they ‘pull’. And blood clots after death anyway.

I’m considering a career change…

TrickyD · 07/11/2024 19:09

Embalmer here.

No actually I’m not but if there is a MN embalmer around their contribution would be useful.

We weren't told this. We were told very clearly by good scientists that it was not a silver bullet, and that its aim was not to stop covid but to stop the worst symptoms which put people in hospital. This was before the roll out.

The virus is SARS-CoV-2, the disease is Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

So having the vaccine will prevent most people who contract the virus from going on to develop the disease.

No vaccine has ever been developed to stop you contracting the virus/pathogen, but they are developed to stop you developing a serious form of the disease.

Too many people spouting nonsense who have no idea about basic immunology and how vaccines work.

we were very much told the vaccines would stop transmission and it would prevent any covid symptoms. Why the threat of vaccine passports unless we had been told that?

LBFseBrom · 07/11/2024 19:11

What stuff did they pull out of veins?

I'm by no means an anti vaxxer - have had myself...but I did listen to the podcast about this and it was certainly good for thought! It's also got an interesting stance on fertility rates etc and anecdotally women have reported changes to their menstrual cycle since having the vaccine...it's hard not to believe there may be some truth in some of it!

My completely unplanned, surprise lockdown baby (now toddler) should have a listen. 😂

Death professional here.

I love these batshit crazy ThEOrIeS.

It’s guff.

Are we experiencing unusual deaths since Covid/vaccines?

Do you mean more unusual deaths. No. In fact I can confidently say that the most unusual deaths I’ve ever seen have had jack all to do with COVID/vaccines and a lot to do with human stupidity 😂

LuckyPeonies · 07/11/2024 19:18

Nope we were told it was 94% effective.

I know! My milkman's neighbour talked to a cremation attendent from Glasgow who said that their nurse's brother heard the same thing.

You have milkmen? I thought they were a myth?????
