Could you be with a man who would have voted Trump?

Trumpz · 06/11/2024 21:04

Just that really.

My husband doesn't love Trump exactly but said tonight he would have voted for him and he hopes Trump will "dismantle the deep state".

Could you be with a Trump voter? Interested in people's views.

I firmly believe that threads like these are exactly why Trump won. Anyone who even shows a vague glimmer in support of Trump is ruthlessly bullied by the liberal luvvies. In the US, anyone wearing a MAGA hat was spat at, vocally abused, and in many cases, physically assaulted, so most Trump supporters kept quiet, only emerging en masse to vote yesterday, much to the deep shock of the clueless liberals. It was you who got Trump voted in because of your unwillingness to listen and engage rationally. I hope you're happy.

Can someone explain what a "globalist world agenda" actually is? I told H it sounds like a conspiracy theory and he tried to explain it to me. Do other people understand it?

I'd assume he means the increasing takeover by global corporations, the offshoring of jobs to 'low cost' countries, the massive transfer of wealth to a small global elite etc.

Sounds like a euphemism for the New World Order conspiracy theory tbh

This is so common on MN.
People here were shocked when Brecit happened.
Because MN said no one nice was a Leaver and as only remainers commented, as the alternative was a dog pile it was believed that the majority irl were remainers.....

Same for every time the Tories got in

The reality is being loud is not the same as being right.

KimberleyClark · 06/11/2024 23:22

Absolutely not.

No. What is the point of a man with no ability to think critically and who hates women? You might as well be in a romantic relationship with a monitor lizard.

Harsh on monitor lizards! They’re ace and I’d much rather one than an ignorant man.

Could I ask why? What does he think Trump will bring that Harris will not? I ask that question in a non confrontational way, purely out of interest.
Again, how does he/they feel about the things Trump has said about women? I genuinely don't mean it to sound like I'm provoking an argument but when he said 'you can grab their pussy' 'when you're a star'. I'd be interested in how general pro-Trump voters respond to things like this

Definitely not a Trump supporter but I think I can answer this one fairly easily. It's largely because those voting for Trump know he likes to say inflammatory things to get a reaction. It works. Every time. With most people getting so worked up over every last bit of dribble that comes out of his mouth. Whereas his voters are more focused on what his administration can actually DO for the country. As someone else said upthread, his voters are able to separate out the person from the policies.

I do feel generally that people have become far too emotional when it comes to politics - and this is exactly WHAT is pushing people towards the likes of Trump.

All I've heard since the result are the same cries of 'racist', 'fascist', 'misogynistic', 'transphobe' and 'who are the 'idiots' voting for him'; sentiments voiced on this very thread. But the fact IS the majority of Americans - including women, people of colour and LGBTQ - DID vote for Trump.

Rather than just calling those people names, I'd be interested in finding out exactly why they voted for someone who they 'know' (apparently) hates them.

I see the wider view as @DavidBeckhamsrightfoot has explained - essentially echo chambers etc. But I don't see how people commenting on a British forum in any way actually influenced the way people in america voted!

It's not about being a 'clueless liberal,' or 'voting for him means agreeing with everything Trump says.' If you were, for example, a man voting for Trump you are actively voting for laws that mean your wife/daughter could literally bleed to death or die of sepsis if they were having a miscarriage because until the foetus isn't medically viable the life they needed would now be illegal (see Josseli Barnica for the most recent example). Even if I agreed with literally everything else Trump said, I still couldn't vote for someone who had policies like that, nor could I respect/love someone who did. I have friends and family who voted the opposite way to me in Brexit/our recent elections and that's fine, but there's got to be a line.

SassK · 06/11/2024 23:29

No way could I!
I only like super virtuous guys who trawl the internet looking for opinions to be mad at.

Littlemissgobby · 06/11/2024 23:29

No not at all i am not bullying anyone. I just think I could not be with anyone who thought a man saying that Liz chenney should be shot saying that kamala is mentally retarded , disgusting and the rest of the disgusting rhetoric he said is a great man to be president.
Like seriously the wannabe dictator nope I would seriously argue so much I would be so angry
I notice online dating people put if they are in the left or right

I would rather be with a man who voted Trump than one who voted for Keir!

Well not many people would have been voting in both the US and the UK would they, hardly a comparison.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/11/2024 23:43

Bixterret · 06/11/2024 21:30

I voted Farage too. I vote for those who say it as it is and don't bullshit everyone.

Ha, the irony! Grin

Littlemissgobby · 06/11/2024 23:47

@Bixterret farage is a bullshitter that is what he does he lies big time he's like his mate Donald who has been fact checked since 2016 has told over 30000 lies

I’ll be really interested to see how the world peace part of that goes…

Llhaaf · 07/11/2024 00:04

Both my husband and I would have voted Trump. I’m pleased he has won the election, it’s a great relief to me and I’m hopeful that he can balance politics which has been going too far left for my liking.

Nanny0gg · 07/11/2024 00:05

Rain11 · 06/11/2024 21:48

World peace
-Strong economy
-Low inflation
-Strong national defense, stronger military
-Energy independence
-Combatting the trans agenda and keeping men out of women's spaces and women's sports
-Securing borders
-Support for police
-Jobs
-No tax on tips
-Free Speech
-Protection of the second amendment
-Safer foods
-Infrastructure

-Election integrity via Voter ID.

  • Prosecution of all that have committed treason and silenced American voices by denying their rights.

-Overtime benefits for the nuclear-family include no tax on overtime pay.

-RFK Jr. leading the way to healthier public school meals for children.

-Homeless Veterans being provided an answer instead of questioning why they are left behind by the democrats.

-Welfare to Americans only, not illegals.

-Homeschooling families will receive $10,000 tax-free per year per child for their services to educate their own children.

-Lowering cost of energy and the bills associated with the use of electricity.

  • Returning essential medicines to the Americans that have been backlogged and in dire need of it to survive.
  • Death penalty held with no compromise for anyone engaged in human trafficking.

-Removing Marxism from public schools and banning mental illness from being taught to the American youth (trans agenda).

There are many more reasons to vote for Trump... no reasons to vote for Harris. She is a brainless puppet and a liar. Her policies are 💩.

This is my opinion, each to their own. I'm very happy Trump won.

I won't engage in a debate with anyone here, I'm just answering your question because you asked politely, and you seem genuinely curious about it.

Some people over here don't like to read different opinions and can get very belligerent and rude. I simply won't answer anyone who resorts to insults or tries to ridicule me or others simply because they don't agree with different ideas or ways of thinking.

We live in a free country, and in a democracy, people are entitled to have their own opinions.

Interesting to see if he delivers what's on your list.

How about him personally, which is what I reacted to - he treats women like pieces of meat and doesn't seem to have any functioning morals.

What's your view on that?

I'm genuinely curious how someone so apparently personally loathsome attracted so many women voters

Thatcastlethere · 07/11/2024 00:09

No.
Politics are important to me. I'm left wing and would want a partner who was left wing.
My husband and I don't always agree on things regarding politics.. we did not agree on who should win the labour leadership for example..
But to so far apart in our political views would be untenable for me.
Maybe I'd be friends with someone who voted trump depending on their reasoning and how they were as a person. But there's absolutely no way I'd have ever even entertained having a meaningful romantic relationship with anyone who wasn't left wing. Life's hard enough. Making a marriage work is hard enough.. even without having massively opposing political views that you will be arguing about till you die.

betterangels · 07/11/2024 00:12

Not for one moment. There is enough evidence of what he thinks of women and every other vulnerable group. I wouldn't want to look at a man who said he'd vote for that. Good luck to you.

Kidznurse · 07/11/2024 00:16

They voted for Trump because that’s their right. He hasn’t slept with him - move on

bumblebee1987 · 07/11/2024 00:25

I genuinely want to know, if you support Trump, would you also be happy to have a convicted rapist and felon as your boss, your child's teacher, your doctor?

Or is it only excusable when it's arguably the most powerful position on the planet?

Donald Trump's victory speech: Full transcript | CTV News
Here is the transcript of his victory speech.
I cannot fathom what he is actually planning to do in any concrete terms except stop illegals. Somehow. And Make America Great Again. I'm not sure what that means in concrete terms either.

The former U.S. president and now president-elect addressed a crowd of supporters at his campaign headquarters in West Palm Beach, Fla., shortly after 2:30 a.m. EST, Wednesday morning.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/11/2024 00:30

No. Neither would I be with a Tory or Farage supporter. I don't really know anyone like that, and I'd imagine they wouldn't be fond of me.
I've a couple of 'mates' who are a little on the right wing side. It's not appealing to me as a belief system which seems very self centred. It doesn't make everyone who has some of those leanings horrible necessarily of course. But it helps. Lol
So I wouldn't be in a romantic relationship with someone like that.
