Could you be with a man who would have voted Trump?

Just that really.

My husband doesn't love Trump exactly but said tonight he would have voted for him and he hopes Trump will "dismantle the deep state".

Could you be with a Trump voter? Interested in people's views.

Hmm.
I'm all for differing political opinions, we're all entitled to our own.
When it comes to people like Trump though, with what happened on Jan 6th, riots etc, conspiracy theorists etc, and abortions being banned, and the way he treats women... I think there's more to it than just differing political opinions.
Depends how far down the rabbit hole I think he'd have gone.
If he started spouting shit like "they're eating the dogs and they're eating the cats" I'd be thinking he'd lost his mind and it'd be so far removed from what he's usually like, same if he was up for storming buildings as he'd been led to believe it was all a fix.
So, TLDR version, not necessarily but depends!

Well this thread seems on topic given the recent surge in interest in the feminist 4B movement since Trump won the election:

Absolutely not. That means he supports a fascist, rapist, mysoginist, racist (pick any bad "ist" really), so he clearly aligns in some way with that. A vote for Trump is saying I would prefer an incompetent criminal bc he has a dick over a qualified woman bc she doesn't.

👏👏 Well, and accurately said. If I knew someone was a Trumper I wouldn't speak to them let alone touch them.

I wouldn't have a friend or a partner that voted or admired Trump, or our own bigoted, misogynistic corrupt , lazy clown, Boris Johson.

I'm intrigued at the posters that are pro - Trump, and how they can ignore that he is a sex offending , Russia colluding felon...I mean the man is a disgrace of a human being..does that not count for anything?

Newbutoldfather · 09/11/2024 16:27

@AnotherChildFreeCatLady ,

The overwhelming issue this election turned out to be the economy/inflation.

KH offered the same again when many were looking for change, and Trump offered hope, even if a lot of the hope looks like snake oil.

Some people think personality/ ethics are more important than policies, some don’t. But I think it is important to undersTAnd where both sides are coming from.

It doesn't matter whatsoever what he says or does. He continuously lies and contradicts himself and people laugh and say it's 'baked in'. Apparently his outrageous behaviour makes him more human.

Littlemissgobby · 09/11/2024 16:30

Well you know how Turkey vote for Christmas already some are now regretting their vote over the tariff situation how it’s going to affect some businesses and I did warn I think quite a few pages ago on this post that apparently the average home is going to lose $4000 per individual a year because of the tariff that he wants to put on. I watched a video with a few people now realising but when you say it was the economy if you look on paper under Biden, it was doing a lot better.. the problem is there has been a lot of misinformation. However the fact is under Biden he made it so that insulin was $35 rather than $800 a month. I really think this is going to start biting some of the poor people that voted for Trump. I don’t think sometimes people read all what they’re voting for look at what happened in this country so I personally think it’s sorry but I think we’re surrounded by some people that are just idiots.

Words · 09/11/2024 16:45

No because he is clearly stupid.

PeloMom · 09/11/2024 16:47

You need to separate the politician and the person with Trump. The reality is the markets and economy were thriving, no wars started while he was in power and a lot of other positive stuff. Net net his politics were more positive than not 2016-2020.

Hatty65 · 09/11/2024 16:48

No.

And first post nails it.

Jumpingthruhoops · 09/11/2024 20:33

username7891 · 08/11/2024 01:44

But the sound bite “he hates women” is just a yawnfest these days and has no real meaning or evidence behind it.

No evidence except what he says and does.

Frankly, I've heard WAY worse from men in the pub on a Friday night!

Strumpetpumpet · 09/11/2024 20:38

No, he’s a convicted criminal and a proven rapist, people who have worked for him have likened him to a fascist. He buried his ex wife on a golf course to avoid tax, he thinks it’s fine to mock disabled people and he celebrated an attack on a political opponents elderly husband. I wouldn’t even waste my breath speaking to anyone who considers him suitable for public office, let alone stay married to them.

That doesn't surprise me, misogyny is rife though I'm surprised they brag about sexual assault.

GettingStuffed · 09/11/2024 20:43

I wonder if he'll ever take office. He's old, unfit and sounds like he has dementia. That means Vance will be president and that man is properly evil.

DH would never vote for someone like Trump as he has critical thinking skills.

Citizenpoor · 09/11/2024 20:49

Yes, as I would have voted for Trump too. Definitely would not be with someone who would vote for Harris.

Hoppinggreen · 09/11/2024 20:56

No I would not

Thanks for saving them. They'll have dodged a bullet.
Enjoy all the misery and suffering he'll cause.

Trumpz · 10/11/2024 08:33

Someone said it earlier - that my question would have been better posed as "could you be with someone with different values to your own?". Clearly the ppl saying they would voted trump themselves will be fine with it - though quite a few of those ppl said they wouldn't be with someone who voted Harris.

I can't forsee how a man can vote or support trump without being a misogynist. And sadly that goes for my husband too.

No, and I'm not sure I could be friends with anyone who would either.

And it's about far more than just having different values. It's about having a certain standard of behaviour and humanity.

SouthLondonMum22 · 22/01/2025 15:55

Not a chance.

Edited

I lost a friend in 2016 because she voted for Trump. There was no way I could maintain a friendship with someone who had such completely different values.

BringMeTea · 22/01/2025 16:30

No way no how.

Boomer55 · 22/01/2025 16:44

We’re in Britain. What Americans do is up to them. That’s democracy. 🤷‍♀️

Netcam · 22/01/2025 19:21

Under no circumstances. But it would never happen.
