I'm enjoying seeing all the left liberals melting . Hopefully this is a start to embolden other countries to get back to common sense and kick all this woke , gender identity cr@p into the long grass . The tide is turning .

People can have different views but I find it abhorrent that people are fine seeing the rights of women stripped away before our very eyes. How on earth can anyone justify that?

Dollychopsporkchops · 06/11/2024 14:04

Trump is a necessary evil and I’m guessing that’s why people voted for him.

We’re seeing many government elected across the globe that have very right wing views and values.

And it’s because people are tired and liberals don’t seem to grasp that. People are tired of gender mania, immigration, abortion and everything else that comes from the left.

Yes there are milllions that are liberals but obviously there are millions more that aren’t.

Society is like a rubber band. You can keep stretching it by trying to get nonsense normalised. But eventually people will get sick of it and the band will snap back to general sense of normalcy.

Trump being elected is proof of society wanting to get back to a place of relative “normalcy”

@Deportationsensation , I know it’s tricky to understand but people are allowed to hold different views to you.

Yes, they're allowed to have different views...

...and we're allowed to think that they are morons.

Icanthinkformyselfthanks · 06/11/2024 14:05

smooththecat · 06/11/2024 13:59

Everybody see this? This is the strategy they use: patronise/sidestep the question.

  1. why would it be difficult to understand?
  2. why reduce and obscure the real question by making it about different views? That’s not the question. The question was something much more important that you’ve avoided. Harm to women. You support something that harms women.

@smooththecat , I don’t believe that a woman carrying a baby should have the right to abort that baby apart from in certain circumstances and then only as early as possible under those circumstances. If that is what you’re talking about. A baby is not merely part of a woman’s body in my opinion and is in fact a separate person despite its dependency on its mother. I am permitted not to be a sheep. I can disagree with you.

hattie43 · 06/11/2024 14:05

@ilovesooty

Well for a start the issue of our kids leaving school unable to read and write but being allowed to identify as a cat . It's abhorrent.

Hi all,
We're just popping on to remind everyone that not everyone will have the same political opinions on Mumsnet and that we think you would all agree it would be a bridge too far if an apolitical site such as ours took sides.

We are giving this poster the benefit of the doubt as they celebrate and would suggest that posters who do not wish to participate in the discussion hide the thread.

Thank you to all who reported and did not troll hunt or otherwise contravene our long-standing guidelines.

I feel very relieved that Donald Trump won. Harris is incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together let alone running a country. Her time in office showed her complete ineptitude.

Gimmeabreak2025 · 06/11/2024 13:46

setting a better example to our shit show of a government as to how to put the needs of your country and the ordinary people first rather than appease people with a woke politically correct agenda while most people just want to be able to afford to heat their homes and feed their families.

You really think that Trump is going to do any good for ordinary people?

Yes, women can have rights but no one should have the right to murder.

Don’t act surprised when people call it that. If it weren’t murder, it wouldn’t even be a heavily debated and contested thing.

Yawn. It is not murder. People who call it murder are ridiculous.

PoorlyBlah · 06/11/2024 14:09

He is a convicted rapist and sex offender.

He is considered by his former chief of staff, Mark Millet to be the "most dangerous person ever" and a "total fascist".

He severely abused his power by his relentless efforts to undermine the 2020 election and overturn legitimate results. He also spread disinformation about the voting process.

He invited a gathering of supporters to attack the US Capitol while electoral votes were being counted. He urged supporters to "fight like hell".

According to Michael Gerhardt, law professor at University of North Carolina, "Trump literally bullied people and spread disinformation on a scale never seen before".

He has normalised and spread extremism, hatred, racism and violence. He refuses to condemn white supremacists.

He has tried to manipulate the justice system to get off with felonies. He also attempted to undermine and obstruct the Mueller investigation.

He has been impeached for pressuring the Ukrainian government to help his re-election campaign.

... and don't forget his stories that immigrants were eating cats and dogs in Ohio 🤔

I could go on ....

And you are "pleased" he will now be president again? 🤷🥴

???

You haven't proved any point. I feel the need to hit back because I think people who force women to carry babies they don't want are abhorrent. Not because I think abortion is murder.

Icanthinkformyselfthanks · 06/11/2024 14:09

izimbra · 06/11/2024 14:00

You're right!

There will be loads of people who genuinely enjoy the thought of DACA recipients who've known no other home than the USA, being ripped from their US citizen partners and children and shoved into deportation concentration camps.

Because people are hateful cunts. Particularly when it comes to immigration.

@izimbra , oh dear it does seem democracy is difficult for some to take if it doesn’t go their way. Some people are getting very rattled today. 😂

You realise that the Republicans want to abolish even those "certain circumstances"?

Threat to the mother's life and no chance the foetus will be viable anyway? Well the mother will have to die, because she's not getting an abortion.

Child raped and impregnated? She'll have to carry the rapist's child to term then. Forced marriage will be next.

SerenityNowSerenityNow · 06/11/2024 14:11

Regardless of your politics I struggle to understand how anyone can celebrate Trump, as an individual, being elected.

He's clearly a dangerous person and shouldn't be in a position of power. His speeches border on incoherence, he lies, he's misogynistic, sexist and racist. Is this the sort of person we celebrate being in power?

I'm as GC as they come and really struggled with Kamala Harris' views on the Trans issues but if you think Trump is any better for biological women then you're deluded. He open admits to sexually assaulting them!

That is the most illogical argument. By the same "logic" if I say Kier Starmer is a rabbit, you pointing out that he isn't actually in fact a rabbit is the proof that he is a rabbit.

I saw a man on twitter/x say that if his teenage daughter was raped and became pregnant then he would want her to have the baby because it is "what jesus would want". Sickening

I'm really pleased about the trump victory. Why shouldn't we be allowed to celebrate. If Harris had won, I just wouldn't have commented on any celebration threads. It's not fair to always attack and try and silence trumps supporters.
