America seems such a crazy, backwards country on so many issues.

Abortion? That needs banning! Kids being killed by a gun-wielding maniac in their school on a weekly basis? Thoughts and prayers, but there's nothing we can do.

It's almost like in America, the country stops caring about your safety from the moment you're out the womb.

Such a bizarre country and people.

Dollychopsporkchops · 06/11/2024 14:06

Yes, women can have rights but no one should have the right to murder.

Don’t act surprised when people call it that. If it weren’t murder, it wouldn’t even be a heavily debated and contested thing.

Countries with no legal right to abortion don't have no abortions. They have women in dire straits doing it for themselves and dying as a result. This was the UK prior to the legalisation of abortion.

If you don't want an abortion, don't have one. Don't remove that right from others, particularly with no exceptions for rape and incest.

Also, tell me about Donald Trump's plans for improving maternity care/leave/pay and providing benefits for parents for all these children that they insist must be born. They don't care about children, just about punishing women.

I hate that men can do whatever they want there, and no one cares.

Trump is a convicted felon. Tick!
Trump has been found guilty of sexual assualt. Tick!

Instead of putting him in jail, let's make him president!

Trump is a necessary evil and I’m guessing that’s why people voted for him.

We’re seeing many government elected across the globe that have very right wing views and values.

And it’s because people are tired and liberals don’t seem to grasp that. People are tired of gender mania, immigration, abortion and everything else that comes from the left.

Yes there are milllions that are liberals but obviously there are millions more that aren’t.

Society is like a rubber band. You can keep stretching it by trying to get nonsense normalised. But eventually people will get sick of it and the band will snap back to general sense of normalcy.

Trump being elected is proof of society wanting to get back to a place of relative “normalcy”

Excellent post, Dollychopsporkchops
For myself I wouldn't say I'm pleased a man like Trump's been elected - more relieved that Kamala and some of her fellow travellers haven't

As a PP said on the now-full thread "It's a pity Kamala Harris didn't have the grace to come out and speak to her thousands of supporters waiting for her at Howard University. Content of her character right there"

I couldn't have put it better myself ...

Anyone taking any bets on how long he will last before they finally acknowledge his dementia? He'll only be there as long as Vance finds it convenient.

Sorry, but this is an ignorant statement. Are you an expert on aging diseases? First, Vance hasn't the power to do what you infer. Period.

Second, DJT does not have dementia. I am a specialist (Master's degree level) in Geriatrics (Aging). DJT's ability to walk would change with any dementia. He walks and talks just as he ALWAYS has: boring, sing-song slow, repetitive style of talking. He is and always will be a poor speaker in public. He does not speak this way in private situations, trust me - have studied his speech style; in smaller private groups he is MUCH more animated and interesting to listen to. I have been watching the man since the 80s in both public and private situations. On the other hand I had Biden pegged for Parkinson's dementia several years ago and the man likely also, sadly, has Alzheimer's dementia. I would not with the combination of those two dementia states on anyone. Poor Jill Biden/family.

Sorry are there, in fact, any positive threads on MN about this? All I've seen is how the world is going to end, all women are going to die, and we should never set foot in DisneyWorld ever again in case we get gotten by hat-wearing MAGAs. 😱

I don't care either way about Donald Trump, but I don't blame OP for starting a thread with a different take on it all.

She's pulling your leg her name after all is fart. It was a light hearted joke that you are taking very serious because you like Trump.

Sandygoldenbeaches · 06/11/2024 14:38

I see no trump supporters on here - have yet commented on trump being found liable for sexual abuse by a court, amd being made to pay five million in damages to the woman.

What are your thoughts on it?

frostywhite · 06/11/2024 14:38

Since when did abortion "come from the left?" WTF is this nonsense!

Personally I’m quite happy. It will be interesting to see how it plays out with the Middle East, Russia-Ukraine etc. plus the usual domestic policies he is handing to billionaires. Should be a fun ride.

Trump has been found guilty of sexual abuse by a court.

What's your thoughts on that?

In 2014, Harris spoke out against a federal judge in Orange County who ruled that the death penalty was unconstitutional. The ACLU and several Public Defender's in California condemned Harris for this and future actions of hers.
In 2010 Harris was accused of withholding information from a courtroom, violating the defendant's constitutional rights.

She laughed at the idea of legalizing Marijuana despite admitting to previously using it herself, and opposed legislation that would require state wide body cam wearing by officers.

She has a history of wrongful conviction cases during her time as an (awful) prosecutor.
She has often dismissed cases regarding complaints against an officer, withheld evidence from a man on death row, and has continued to keep wrongfully convicted felons in jail.

Harris has also an incredibly high incarceration rate of African American males for crimes such as smoking Marijuana.

What are your thoughts on that?

As a British citizen it's none of my business how the election went.

I do, however, wish the American people a rewarding four years for putting your faith in the republican government. I sincerely hope all goes well for you.

Thank you for being civil, it is appreciated because with China set to try to take over the Pacific and any other food source in the world, America needs to focus. Bless you all.

ItIsBeginingToLookLike · 06/11/2024 14:41

White women have replaced white men as the scapegoat for the left. They will be spitting "white woman" now, whatever you voted.

What's your thoughts on that?

He was found guilty of battery in a civil court, which requires nowhere near the standard of evidence that a criminal court does, and is therefore meaningless.

For those of us who paid attention to the case throughout, the entire thing was obviously a grift for cash and headlines.

WestwardHo1 · 06/11/2024 14:41

Brilliant news. The world's biggest polluter is going to be given free rein to continue doing it.

And Elon Musk is one step closer to government.

No I didn't support Biden or Harris. The whole country is fucking sick and rotten. If only they didn't affect the rest of us so much.

This is the issue. They really didn’t. Most people just headline grab and believe everything the BBC tells them.

A) you can live in a state that suits your world view.
B) you can live a sexless life, if you want to guarantee no pregnancy, if you refuse/can't move to an abortion state.
C) rape is less likely now single sex spaces are restored and those with without visas/criminal record checks will be investigated.
D) I understand that many Christians have pregnancy centres full of baby related items, they gift those in need.
