For smallpox and polio vaccines too? Because he’s anti them as well.

No you’re being deliberately ignorant and stupid.

Ive said very specifically that I’ve had all the rest of the legitimate vaccines.

You are the one who can’t separate in your head a legitimate vaccine from something rushed to the market in under 6 months. As I’ve said, you can’t get a dog food to market in that time.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I referred originally to Trump appointing an anti vaxer. I didn’t ask or comment about your own views.
Do you think it’s looking voter Americans to appoint an anti vaxer (a complete anti vaxer) to be in charge of health care?

The man concerned IS anti all vaccines ffs

Well he may have a point, and there’s no problem with questioning and reviewing them.

@ThatRareUmberJoker

"ThatRareUmberJoker
Doesn't Trump want to come out of NATO and if he does where does that leave the rest of us?"

Well other NATO countries will have to increase their spending as a percentage of GDP to make up the shortfall rather than relying on US taxpayers to do this.

Currently the US spends 3.5% of GDP on defence, the UK 2.3% and for example Spain at 1.3%.

Would you be willing to say spend more on defence than the say the NHS. If not then Putin can do whatever he wants to in Eastern Europe.

Putin is Trumps friend let's not forget that. The war in Ukraine will end now. Putin will be untouchable.

Oh ffs. You are contradicting yourself and showing total denial of fact. And that’s while I ignore all the shit you’ve posted about covid vaccines.
Anyone who thinks we need to question established vaccines has nothing intelligent to say. I’m out.

The Trump administration is about making Trump and cronies richer .. USA Inc .. where, as a citizen, your only value is how much you can contribute to the wealth of some already very rich people

Agree about the making himself and his cronies richer, @ExtraOnions - he's a politician after all - but not about the perceived value of US citizens.
I do live there for half my life, and while this is a popular trope among detractors you couldn't be more mistaken, as any time spent among ordinary communities will quickly show

Big pharma were giving away big incentives for each patient (Statins) were prescribed to a few years back

Yes they were, @Farting, and while it's now the NHS who incentivise prescribing them there are still questions around pharma's continued financial influence
Though retired now this was once my field, and there are good reasons why I'd never have worked for pharma themselves

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/11/2024 20:56

Farting ignored what I said and focused on covid vaccines. As did you*

Yes that's fair comment @cardibach, though the truth is that I no longer comment specifically about covid vaccines on MN
FWIW I've had them, though I wasn't especially happy about it, but the narrative on here where even the most moderate questions are shouted down and simple facts denied doesn't work for me on this subject

Can't say that I'm loving the Trump Win but I'm rather enjoying the angst and fugue with vetching in all it's internet forms. All i can observe is that the 'tradionally accepted' forms of achieving global peace/stability hasn't worked well so far.

Trump isn't as 'rogue' as so many make out - yes a man with many failed businesses behind him, landed high up due to Daddy's money and quite possibly nearly as corrupt as 'Byedon' Jr, but didn't actually destroy the world last time he was Mr President. And in a few years Melania's memoirs will be priceless (you go girl).

The vax situation is a red herring - my 90 year old neighbour who I picked up today over a mile from home puts some of her longetivity and strength down to never having vaccines. Rightly or wrongly but her physical fortitude is to be appreciated in all its forms.

TheHateIsNotGood · 17/11/2024 21:11

And the really great thing about being Mr President is that you can pardon yourelf from all legal wranglings.

The vaccine situation is not a red herring. It’s trump being wilfully neglectful of the country’s health. It’s bloody obvious that your neighbours health and strength are not as a result of never being vaccinated - in fact she’s very lucky not to have succumbed to anything nasty. Of course, she’s been somewhat protected by all the sensible people who did take them.

What clinical trial? what peer group reviews? and whose pay and influence were those in the peer group doing the reviewing under?

Reasonable questions, @Farting, especially the last

FWIW I'm not one of the anti-vaxers, but all the same you're right that people don't want them asked - which may be unfortunate given that the industry's history includes far too much corruption and far too many cover ups

The last question isn't legitimate to someone who knows how peer review process works. It is well known in academic circles that peer reviewing is a voluntary role. No money is exchanging hands and, in fact, peer review volunteers are very hard to come by for this exact reason. It's a complex and time-consuming process which people do out of passion for science and knowledge. It's not some get rich quick scheme.

TheHateIsNotGood · 17/11/2024 21:31

@cardibach I know, still doesn't stop me from finding humour in the situation. I've been vaxxed, ds has been a refuser, whatever chanks your chain. Nothing is certain when it comes to life and death and ability to function mentally and physically.

I can still climb high scaffolding at 62 and do the work needed whilst I'm up there and also pretty clued up in my brain. Vax or not I still marvel at my much older neighbour. And also see the decline in the physical and mental capabilities of many far younger than me.

It's all down to how it shakes out at a particular time and nothing more.
