Yes because I think they're bogus charges. The democrats abused their power and weaponised the justice system against Trump. It backfired on them massively.

Exactly- everyone saw what was going on.

The MSM has lost its monopoly on the narrative and they were unable to deceive the people any longer.

Thats irrelevant to the US population. He’s looking out for them, not us.

And that ^^ by the way is the whole point of electing people to represent you. They’re supposed to represent you, not everyone else.

He’s not looking after them. He’s looking after him.
In what way is appointing an anti vaxer to be in charge of health looking after the population, for example?

he doesn’t need looking after. He’s got plenty of money. More than he could ever spend.

people who didn’t believe in the covid jabs aren’t anti vax. That’s a generalisation intended to badge anyone critical of the jab as anti vax and shit down debate.

im not anti vax, ive had all the legitimate vaccines, but I didn’t take the jab because the truth is you couldn’t get dog food to the market as fast as they rolled out that jab and I didn’t trust it.

i get it a lot of people have been totally suckered, probably you. But there are other opinions and points of view and you don’t have the monopoly on those, and you don’t get to impose those on me or anyone else capable of thinking for themselves.

So to cite your specific example, it could be, and is very likely to be that when the results of the large scale clinical trial for the jabs is analysed it was in fact in hindsight very very bad for a large proportion of the population, and in that event those people may need other treatment or care.

So it may well be, a very very good idea that someone critical and capable of individual thought is assigned to the role.

Well, no. They aren’tt bad. But it’s not just covid vaccinations in this case, is it. It’s all of them. And fluoride on the water. And a load of other stuff.
Also do you really believe rich people become unselfish because they have plenty of money?

Well perhaps, just perhaps the medical industry has got too big for its boots and is shipping us a load of stuff we don’t need and shouldn’t be taking.

The trouble you’ve got is you’ve swallowed everything you’ve been told all your life and it’s hurting your ego to think you’ve been had. And you probably have been had.

Others of us had our eyes open.

Trump has enough to do what he wants. I believe he loves America, which incidentally I think 75 odd million Americans think as well so you’re gonna have to suck it up. He’s in and he’s gonna do what he’s gonna do and no amount of bitching on mumsnet is going to change it.

OP posts:
cardibach · 17/11/2024 20:06

No, @Farting , I haven’t ’swallowed everything I’ve been told’, my ego isn’t hurt and I know I haven’t been had. Because all the research and, you know, actual facts, shows that vaccines are 8ncredibly effective and fluoride in the water is beneficial. Or are you suggesting all the scientists, for ever and everywhere, have lied?
Yes, Trump has what he wants. I think Americans who voted for him will regret it. And categorising people expressing concern for Americans (and Ukrainians, and the rest of Europe, and those in the Middle East) as ‘bitching’ reveals a lot about you (and taken in context with the rape apologist stance, more than I want to know)

what “actual facts”, delivered by whom? And with what agenda?

what clinical trial? what peer group reviews? and whose pay and influence were those in the peer group doing the reviewing under?

you really don’t want those questions asked do you?

you’re not alone

I suggest, that broadly, you have swallowed everything you’ve been fed.

Plus you seem to still be referring to covid vaccination (as the claim it’s not been properly trialled and reviewed, though false, seems to stick there). I’m talking about all the others too. And fluoridation. And whatever other nonsense the man believes. There’s plenty of evidence over decades for all of that. Why are you discounting it?

Doesn't Trump want to come out of NATO and if he does where does that leave the rest of us?

I doubt he'll care where it leaves the rest of us, ThatRareUmderJoker, and plenty will not care right alongside him

As I mentioned on another thread there are many Americans who get very, very tired of being expected to pay for everyone else's problems then getting snarled at for the privilege, and though hauling up the drawbridge is hardly ideal it would be popular with many

XChrome · 17/11/2024 20:22

RosaMoline · 17/11/2024 17:39

I just find it unbelievable that you don’t have a problem with his Gaetz nomination.

I don't. If they didn't like rapists they wouldn't like Trump. So it's very believable that they like Gaetz as well.
These are not rational people.

You’re getting yourself tied up.

You mentioned him appointing an “anti vaxxer” not me. I was responding to you.

The whole term “anti vaxxer” is a manipulation because it suggests the subject is anti ALL vaccinations and is therefore mad and irrational. This is nothing like the case. Everyone I knew who was against the jab had taken all the legitimate vaccines. The truth more correctly is that those throwing the insult are the brainwashed masses who’ve drunk the kool aid.

Reasonable questions, @Farting, especially the last

FWIW I'm not one of the anti-vaxers, but all the same you're right that people don't want them asked - which may be unfortunate given that the industry's history includes far too much corruption and far too many cover ups

@ThatRareUmberJoker

"ThatRareUmberJoker

Well other NATO countries will have to increase their spending as a percentage of GDP to make up the shortfall rather than relying on US taxpayers to do this.

Currently the US spends 3.5% of GDP on defence, the UK 2.3% and for example Spain at 1.3%.

Would you be willing to say spend more on defence than the say the NHS. If not then Putin can do whatever he wants to in Eastern Europe.

For smallpox and polio vaccines too? Because he’s anti them as well.

ExtraOnions · 17/11/2024 20:34

A few Measles epidemics, when people remember it’s a killer, and can also lead to lifelong disability, might help with the vaccine views.

The Trump administration is about making Trump and cronies richer .. USA Inc .. where, as a citizen, your only value is how much you can contribute to the wealth of some already very rich people.

The USA has always been fairly backward with how it treats the majority of its citizens, I guess they are just being more open with it now.

Never been more glad not to live there

I know, and profoundly disagree with him on that - and even if I didn't the concept of having yet another Kennedy anywhere near power strikes me as the act of a madman

Farting's point about financial impact and manipulation still holds good though, especially when as mentioned the industry has a less than stellar record in this area

The thing is I’m married to a GP who wouldn’t give statins to our dog. And big pharma were giving away big incentives for each patient those were prescribed to a few years back.

Similar with a guy at DS’s rugby club who is an anaesthetist. He won’t touch them either.

you just have to look at what happens to anyone who questions the narrative.

It doesn’t because @Farting ignored what I said and focussed on covid vaccines. As did you. That’s not what I was referring to, as I assumed he/she’d be a covid denier of some sort given his/her other views.
