To think in ten years all these huge veneers and huge lips will be seriously dated?

Eek, watching tv these days it's a sea of huge symmetrical bright white veneers.
So many of them look like they have got a teeth guard in when they are sucking on them.
Most of them just look really terrible and I dread to think what their long term teeth issues will be.
Add in the huge lips and filler faces and really it's a bit black mirror with all these faces looking the same. I know the lip filler can be dissolved but is that the same for all over the face? Will people be able to go back to how they were before once the filler blindness passes?
I've been watching old movies and the difference with natural teeth is quite something, it changes the natural shape of your face and everyone looks more individual .
Aibu or will it all look so dated in ten years and all these huge horsey veneers go out of fashion?
Or am I just getting old

Gives the air of Confidence.

Baboon lip and arse.

My eyebrows are awful due to overplucking/ waxing for years! Also had a huge spiral perm in the 80s a la Jenny Powell! My daughter thankfully prefers a more subtle natural look than what has been fashionable in recent years.

I think when the CQC (hopefully) start regulating it - it will get better. So many cheap work being offered by young women on social media who have done a day course in it

I think the fashion for turkey teeth is worrying. They have been left with stumps & will have to keep having veneers & then eventually dentures. My grandparents had those back in the 70s.

I also find old episodes of TOTP interesting as girls were wearing cargo pants, polo necks, shirts etc & had some make up but not loads. Think Natalie Imbruglia in Torn or the All Saints in Never Ever. They all looked amazing but really natural.

I don't know what the people having fake teeth & lip fillers will look like in their 50s & 60s.

They'll all be left with saggy lips, pitted, uneven cheeks , slug tattooed eyebrows, grotty, wonky, stained veneers , wrinkly tattoos all over them and inflated boobs and bums. I hope whatever is left of the NHS tells them all to fuck off.

Filler gradually leaves the body so no problem there but veneers don't last long and wreck your natural teeth so there will soon be a generation of youngish people with teeth like Shane McGowan.

Some people want to look fake or Barbiefied. I am no stranger to a cosmetic intervention. The clinic I go to has several doctors. I see one who specialises in giving a natural look., but there are other doctors there who people see if they want to look 'done'.

When I was young only sailors or builders had tattoos. Now they are ubiquitous. I think in a few years time younger people will eschew them on the basis that they look old fashioned.

things don’t exist in a vacuum though. I have dc and worry about the world they are in.

The filler in lips usually just looks horrendous unless it’s done very subtly. They always look sore and tight.

The veneers come with significant risk especially if they’re done on the cheap, they look terrible and the damage to natural teeth is permanent.

We are pointing out that they look fake cheap and insecure.
Whereas Wrinkles are a life lived.
A life of being true to yourself and confident to live your life in the way you want.
Not worried about what others think and definitely not injected their faces with foreign material they could lead to serious side effects

I caught the end of Big Brother the other night and some of the housemates actually had teeth so white, they looked 'blue' 😳

With the veneers do they have to have them re-capped or covered?

So, if they don’t, the veneer wears out and they’re left with shaved down spikes?

I saw a young woman today with those thick, black painted on eyebrows and I thought I haven’t noticed anyone with those for some time. Not so long ago they were all the rage.
Think fake lips will definitely go out of fashion so too will the Russian lashes. I think they are already starting to date badly.
The thing with the Turkey teeth is that it affects your speech too. I’ve come across people with them and they whistle when they speak. Dolly Parton now whistles as she had her teeth done. It’s why Freddy Mercury refused to have his teeth done. He said it would adversely affect his voice.
As for the fat comments, there are plenty of overweight people having these procedures done.

Yes, the impact on speech is definitely an issue with some of these teeth. Overloaded mouths. Why don't they size match them better or is it the requested look?

Here’s one answer to your question. I got lip filler to help myself in my recovery from bulimia, as i knew I couldn’t be sick while my lips were sore and healing. It worked, it looked good and no, you couldn’t tell :) Must say, the nastiness on this thread is a much worse look than any lip filler I’ve seen!
