To think in ten years all these huge veneers and huge lips will be seriously dated?

Eek, watching tv these days it's a sea of huge symmetrical bright white veneers.
So many of them look like they have got a teeth guard in when they are sucking on them.
Most of them just look really terrible and I dread to think what their long term teeth issues will be.
Add in the huge lips and filler faces and really it's a bit black mirror with all these faces looking the same. I know the lip filler can be dissolved but is that the same for all over the face? Will people be able to go back to how they were before once the filler blindness passes?
I've been watching old movies and the difference with natural teeth is quite something, it changes the natural shape of your face and everyone looks more individual .
Aibu or will it all look so dated in ten years and all these huge horsey veneers go out of fashion?
Or am I just getting old Grin

The issue is that people are overdoing it and it looks really bad! Less is better always

So the whole thread pretty much agrees that people look better with their natural features and should stop messing with their appearance, but that doesn't apply if you have a naturally big nose? In that case, your natural features are ugly and you should have to pay to get it fixed? (Spoken as someone who did inherit their Dad's enormous hooter.)

Depends if you’re happy with your big nose!

Agree! I think some of the most beautiful people have a prominent nose and striking profile. It’s a cool look.

Edited

Agree, Princess Diana was an example of this, but if it’s bulbous it’s definitely not a good look!

If the owner of the big nose( bulbous or not) has no issue with it then two fingers to the person who has an issue with it.
Be proud of your face and don't change because others think it is 'not a good look.'
They can cast their gaze eyes elsewhere if it offends them.

As a mother of a now adult daughter, I can absolutely guarantee that as your daughter grows up she will be influenced in how she should look by people who have nothing to do with her. She will see popstars, models, celebrities, people in the street, all of whom she doesn't know, and will want to wear clothes like them or have a hairstyle like them. You're being naive if you think she won't.

Fortunately, you can't guarantee that because fortunately in the real world most girls and young women aren't obsessed with emulating 'slebs'.

FatFemale · 06/11/2024 23:23

Its the pillow face, shiney forehead, fake eyelashes, trout pout, massive eye brows, bright white fake teeth too big for the mouth most look like a horse. It looks laughable now. Its definitely something we will look back on and take the piss out of!

grow old gracefully. Be individual ✌️

I agree. DD is not interested in emulating anyone else. Also with her medical background she has no intention of doing so.

Features of your face will differ according to your heritage. Have you decided only people of certain race/ethnicity have the right looking nose?

It’s up to them- if they’re happy with their nose-fine! An ugly nose is an ugly nose, no matter what race or ethnicity, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say!

An ugly nose is an ugly nose, no matter what race or ethnicity,

So it's objective fact.

but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say!

Oh, wait. You are saying it's subjective?

A human organism is such a complicated thing, with so many physiological actions happening at micro level in every second for it to be living and healthy. All noses do the same job - unless unhealthy.
May be focusing on the miracle of that complexity next time and challenging ourselves to think that the bulbous ugly nose just is. Neither ugly nor beautiful. Most of beauty is just a social construct after all.

We live for such a short time. We don't want some of us to feel unhappy and judged all their lives because they have a perfectly good nose, that they did not pick, and which society has randomly labelled as ugly.
I do hope you are happy with the nose that your genes determined for you @Bignanna

Turn your gaze away from our big noses.

They are natural and beautiful to us.
Thank you

An ugly outlook is an ugly outlook – but can be changed!

How crass going on and on about other people’s ‘ugly noses’!

Pumpkincozynights · 10/11/2024 10:01

I agree that French and Italian women, and definitely men, are on the whole so much more stylish than British women. Far more natural hair colour, not all the fake bleached hair with black roots. Hardly anyone walking around in tracksuits/leggings supporting the caked on makeup and huge duck lips look.
The men wore shirts and shoes, not those revolting tracksuits and grubby trainers.

On holiday at the moment.
Got talking to a lovely young lady. Early 30's.

Fake hair, teeth,breasts and lips.
She was open about these things and said if there was anything to make her taller she would do it.

Yes she looks fantastic but I wonder what she will look like in a few years time.
