Reading it now its horrific. People saying we heard screams- and yet did nothing??? How does a person just think that no im not going to report this, most likely because they cant be bothered/ dont want to be involved. Scum of the earth the dad is. The stepmother ( and her sister!) going on and on about how they feel bad etc and dont do anything!

I suppose in his twisted mind , he was canny enough to feign shock.

I don't believe the siblings didn't know

BourbonsAreOverated · 07/11/2024 08:07

It starts young
snitches get stitches
dont be a tattletale

Then it moves up
being called busy bodies
interfering

I’ve seen the fall out when someone’s called social services within a family. It’s completely destroyed a wider family, despite it being the “right thing” to do

fedup33 · 07/11/2024 08:32

I couldn't give a what people call me.

I suppose we try to square up these tragedies with our own lived experiences, our own love for our children and our own morality.

But it's pointless. Didn't the Grandmother of Baby P start bleating or there is some Uncle or Step parent who gets thousands from the Mail. They make me sick.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 07/11/2024 08:38

I completely agree.

Those relatives - crawling out of the woodwork - deserve nothing but censure; and not selling their tale of woe in the Sunday Mail.

Where were they when the shit hit the fan and the kid was in dire straits??

BourbonsAreOverated · 07/11/2024 08:56

Please don’t miss understand my post as excusing those for not stepping up, it’s just how society always shoots the messenger

Chowtime · 07/11/2024 14:56

Well he's thrown the stepmother right under a bus. Have you seen todays news about his testifying?

Can't say I feel sorry for her though.

'Mr Sharif also told the court Ms Batool was a “psycho” and “evil”, and that he slapped Sara after Ms Batool told him Sara had injured some of the other children.
He went on to say that Ms Batool would blame Sara "for everything".
“That poor girl always been accused by that psycho sitting there, that psycho sitting there, she always accused my daughter," Mr Sharif said.
“Nothing happened when I was home, she always accused her of every single thing that happened.”
Jurors were told Mr Sharif's case was that Ms Batool was responsible for Sara's death, and he made a false confession in a phone call and also in a note to protect his wife.
'

I wonder what he said to get custody of the children from their mother? Might be useful to see if there are any common phrases.

mrshoho · 07/11/2024 17:04

Poor Sara, what a shower of despicable adults that she was entrusted to. Surely her siblings would have been interviewed and I hope treated sensitively. They will sadly hold the key to getting to the truth. Seeing those images of the family going through airport security only a day after Sara died is chilling. What utter monsters.

Yet he was happy to leave her with the psycho.

I’ve tried to catch this on the news but it seems over shadowed by trump news

Good point.

Awwww lovely how they're all turning on each other.

They will all go down together and I'm enjoying every second of it.

Hopefully. Even if one of them didn’t touch her they are all culpable

fedup33 · 07/11/2024 20:33

Back to the original point, how could anybody live next door to this and decide to keep quiet?

There's a lot of inhumanity in the world.

Well this is it. If you knew your spouse was horrifically abusing your child you wouldn’t leave them with them. And if you did you’re as much to blame as they are. (I don’t believe any of anything they’ve said for a second).

Look at the mothers eyes in the old mail article, you can see all the whites, it is not often you see that phenomenon. There is a female tick tock surgeon in Florida who does childhood trans-surgery who has eyes like that.

I hadn't realised this but that is what has bugged me about Lucy Letby's eyes from the first time I saw her photo. Couldn't put my finger on it, now I know. Shamima Begum as well.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 12/11/2024 07:26

Is this the new version of 'I knew he was guilty, his eyes were too close together'?

Seems like the father has form for domestic abuse and coercive control - how surprising.

Yanbu. These abusers and murderers need to be put away for life or preferably capital punishment.

If hanging is not acceptable, put them in the main wing of a prison and see how they feel to be persecuted and live in terror, just like poor Sara.

Social services get blamed for all sorts, breaking up families etc. But I wonder how many children are saved by their actions? Child abusers won't admit it, they'll always claim their child was unfairly taken away...

Social services never have the right of reply. They can never correct the story. They can never explain to protect the children - it’s right, but means there’s misinformation and one side out there.

How many times have we read on here courts disregarding abusive against mum in custody cases

fedup33 · 12/11/2024 09:58

So Olga leaves a young girl with a psychopath and doesn't think to ring the appropriate services? Rubbish. Plenty of people can translate Polish if necessary.

I doubt it was that straight forward.

Peonies007 · 12/11/2024 10:19

Her mum has learning difficulties.
Sara was on child protection since birth and then in foster care.
Her mum had custody to begin with. She would have been easily conned into signing something/ not realising what he is doing to get custody. He married her for visa too
