Right, well, first off, I love it here. i especially love it because there are plenty of intelligent, witty posters.
However, I am frequently surprised at threads relating to pornography, exchanging sex for "gifts" and fanjo shaving, etc. Now, I know we've all got different ideas about what is acceptable, but sometimes it's like feminism never happened.

lol@pointy

It's getting a bit late for all this talk now, isn't it? I guess most of you are tidying up your fanjos one last time for the day ...?

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 22:30

Yet another round of applause for madamez.

This thread has been quite interesting.

Expat says: " I do not owe you or anyone else any complex justification of my opinion, particularly when you start putting words into my mouth."

No problem, Expat!

Though might I suggest that, next time, before you make critiques like "I find her intellectual subtance a rip-off of others and that's why I find her weak there, too", you think ahead to the point where someone says 'Oh really, which others?' and actually plan for the question, and deal with it?

Otherwise you are playing intellectual hide-and-seek. Which is strange, in a grown woman.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 22:57

you also find fanjo shaving strange, onebat.

i don't.

onebatmother · 25/04/2008 22:58

Sorry, car-crash watchers, that was a comment about expat's frenzied assessment of the Beauty Myth.

onebatmother · 25/04/2008 22:59

Madamez, in the spirit of debate, please learn paragraphs.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 22:59

with frenzied being her own description.

as you were, folks.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 23:00

KM, do you want some of this falafel we had for tea?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/04/2008 23:00
pointydog · 25/04/2008 23:01

I've read Misconceptions.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 23:02

i'd give you my copy, VVV, but i sold it back to the bookshop to fund a trip to the salon for a wax .

DKMA · 25/04/2008 23:06

In an attempt to lighten the tone a bit ............ I am now wondering if I had most of my pubic hair permanantly removed by lazer treatment because it gave me horrible chaffing everytime I rode my horse and was just very uncomfortable in general .............. or............ was it because I have been influenced by porn or men wanting me to be a certain way?

Hmmmmmmmmmm

'In my own longtime happy little bubble of porn, swingers, fetishists and so on, I have been a bit protected from the horrible reality I see on MN: of men who belittle their wives for not doing housework properly,"

Madamez you are creating a false dichotomy.

You pretend (as 21st century misogyny always does) that the choice is between Performative Sex (which includes prostitution, but also any woman acting as they think society expects an aroused woman to act) and No Sex.

But most of us feminists have sexy relationships (with recently lots of sex) that don't involve porn or performative sex.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/04/2008 23:13

Fuck aye DKMA - you must've had one hell of a bush

DKMA · 25/04/2008 23:13

PMSL
Not anymore!

onebatmother · 25/04/2008 23:15

I believe, DKMA, that actual chafing - particularly chafing related to equine pursuits - allows you to remove yourself from the debate.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2008 23:16

they can do IPL on your fanny?

i did not know that.

DKMA · 25/04/2008 23:17
VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/04/2008 23:18

is that the UK fanny, or the US fanny expat?
