Did you see the story in the news that a man in Australia has said that he is Prince Charles 's and Camilla's lovechild. Apparently security are watching him as he said that he is going to try to go and see them

This is lighthearted, so don't come at me. It's just in the news today, and was wondering what are your thoughts?

Evidence?

Well what's the right word? I can't think of a word.

I could never see what charles saw in camilla.

But if they knew each other as teenagers, I suppose they had just built a long deep bond that couldn't be broken

He was adopted by a couple.

Their grandparents worked for the royal family.

Apparently his grandmother told him on her death bed that he was charles and camillas child.

That's all the evidence really.

Not completely convinced the RF would hand over a child to a couple who were working at the palace (to hand over to their grandchild). That doesn’t seem feasible to me.

ABirdsEyeView · 18/10/2024 22:47

I wonder what would happen if there was a child born to C&C - would they be legitimised by the fact that their parents are now married and would they have a claim to the throne?
It's interesting. Personally, I think a DNA test would stop this story from popping up, but I guess loads of mentally unwell people could claim to be their child and they can't do tests all the time.

Branster · 18/10/2024 22:48

But what use would a DNA test be?
How would he get DNA information from Charles's or Camilla's bloodlines to compare? Is not like their DNA information is accessible to anyone.

I don’t believe they would ever submit DNA whether it was true or not. The never explain motto would come into effect. They ignore all of this kind of stuff (understandably) as it would never end.

HollyKnight · 18/10/2024 22:50

I'm sure someone in Camilla's family somewhere has done 23andMe.

OctaveoOctober · 18/10/2024 22:53

I sis see a resemblance to Tom Parker bowls. Poor man, it's sad they can't do a dna test.

Imagine if it were true and he's the rightful heir??

newnamethanks · 18/10/2024 22:53

Don't start DNAing the royals. Massive potential for disaster all round.

BirthdayRainbow · 18/10/2024 22:54

Light hearted? How?

Whether he's a chancer or unwell I don't see the humorous part.

ABirdsEyeView · 18/10/2024 22:55

With family tracing sites, it's impossible to hide anything forever. In the past, people could reasonably assume that a closed adoption would be a secret forever - but the cat's out of the bag with DNA testing being accessible to everyone. No one could have seen that coming. And since Camilla's family are not all royal, I'd imagine her DNA info will be 'out there', even if Charles' is not!

Lighthearted doesn’t necessarily mean comical, it just means no need to go dark and intense.

CatchOnToYersel · 18/10/2024 22:56

I am sensing that this may just be a thread made up to slip in nasty comments about the King and Queen.

You may not see what he saw in Camilla. She clearly was attractive to him and that is all that matters. And frankly it is nothing to do with any of us who others choose to be attracted to or love in this world.

If you would care to post an image of yourself we could critique you too. We could say that we cannot see what people see in you. But that would be cruel and nasty and unfair and unwarranted. Don't you think?

If true he would have been conceived out of wedlock, I don’t know how that stands as being rightful or not.

Smartiesoncake553 · 18/10/2024 22:59

Don’t know anything about this alleged case with Charles but interestingly enough, something very similar has happened within the Belgian royal family.

The previous king who has abdicated now in favour of his son, had a love child with his mistress, and he denied the child’s existence for years. And it was the child herself, once an adult, who forced the ex king through the courts to take a DNA test and it turned out that she was indeed his child!

Since then she has appeared in photos with the royal family and won the right to be treated the same as the other royal children and called Princess. Quite right too!

If your parents marry after you’re born you have to be re-registered as you are then legitimised after the fact.

That's interesting. So the courts did make that king take a dna test.

Well to be fair you’re not at the top aristocratic levels where what is deemed attractive can be very different to the rest of us. He loved her earthy sense of humour and they would have had a lot of common ground mixing with the aristo types of people that we would have very little in common with or be to our taste (I’m assuming you’re not an aristo lol).

Yeah I've read it before. It's just In the news again now because C and C are visiting Australia, and he has said that he's going to see them

I think that’s a little over the top. This thread presumably exists because there has been a story about this man in the press today, in response to KC’s visit to Oz, there doesn’t have to be an ulterior motive for it!

I’ve just googled him. There are similarities and as a youngster he does kind of look a bit Camillarish and not completely unlike Tom Parker Bowles. I haven’t read the background story so can’t comment on the likelihood but just going by looks it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.

Even if it was true he’d never be made heir. I’ve just read a bit more and it seems he’s only going by his grandmother’s death bed ‘confession’. Although why she would know (if he’s been adopted so his gm is not blood related) I’m not sure.

Edited

Allegedly it was a private adoption and his GM worked on the royal estate at the time.
