Why didn’t SS investigate after the teacher reports 🤯

Jukeboxjive · 15/10/2024 17:50

@Allofthelightsss not necessarily, I know recently a child seen at one hospital on holiday for something serious had to wait for for postal notes back home to doctor.

It should all be moot anyway, a child repeatedly covered n in bruises shouldn't have to endure this slow, wait have a chat, discuss... Yes... Let's call ss. And it beggars belief a teacher took it upon themselves to interview this murderer??

What remit? What powers?

Immediately call the police and let them investigate. I can't imagine living next to the this and hearing endless repeated screams

Marcipex · 15/10/2024 17:55

@greenday16B ignorance yourself, it was used to hide the bruises.

Vergus · 15/10/2024 17:57

This case and that of poor Arthur Labinjo Hughes who was recorded crying and saying no-one loved him in an emancipated state are two of the most harrowing accounts of child abuse and murder I have ever read. I just don’t understand how people could even get to a place where they could bring themselves to act in these ways, like savage animals.

How can these people ever be redeemed having committed such evils?

AgainandagainandagainSS · 15/10/2024 17:59

Sweet, beautiful girl. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

As for those who did this to her - I won't mention what I'd like to happen to them...

Just watching the news, the (so called father), says he " legally" punished her, wtaf!!!.
Heartbreaking

Will he claim 'his culture' says he can legally punish? Although this is never punishment, its abuse. I notice he ran off, with the rest of the family to another country, do he knew it was at least illegal. What a vile man.

Poor, child, having the misfortune to be born into that family.

This has me in tears, I'd do anything to hug that poor boy and tell him he is loved. It breaks my heart that there are countless children every day enduring abuse that believe that no one cares about them. I'm not in any way religious but things like this make me wish there is a hell so that child abusers and murderers can end up there

She was withdrawn from school on 17 April 2023 and homeschooled after teachers reported seeing her with bruises on three occasions. On 10 March 2023, the second incident, Sara’s teacher, Helen Simmons, asked the schoolgirl about the two distinct bruises on her chin and right eye.
Emlyn Jones said: “Sara acted coy and tried to hide them. Miss Simmons observed that Sara would often pull her hijab to hide her face if she did not want to speak or was being told off. Sara gave multiple conflicting stories as to how she got the bruises.”
The teacher sought advice and it was agreed that a referral to social services was needed, the prosecutor added. The teacher noticed another bruise on 28 March and questioned Batool, who claimed it had been caused by a pen. Sara was withdrawn from school less than three weeks later.

From the Guardian

The more I read, the more I believe it was a major failure of social services.

I'm surprised by this because people have been put on child protection plans for less.

Agree. The thing is, we were notified to SS numerous times for random stuff by SEN team of the same council. Totally pointless reasons like.. dad is working shifts and younger brother didn't settle at nursery.
They have to investigate even the very far fetched ones, so the time spent on high risk cases will be minimal.
When HE we also got referred several times as a matter of course, so unless she didn't see any doctor at all, there would normally be a notification.
Surrey SS I found fair. they did ask questions, checked medical records each time etc. I don't mind personally as nothing to hide, but there should maybe be some sifting of referrals.

Chowtime · 15/10/2024 15:09

The thing is, in this instance, I don't for one second she was taken out of school to be home schooled. I believe she was taken out of school for the abuse to be hidden from the authorities and to be the house slave. Why is everyone saying she was home-schooled?

I agree with this.

Peonies007 · 15/10/2024 18:13

QuickMember · 15/10/2024 18:11

I agree with this.

Indeed. Normally 2 teams at Surrey request a visit at home following deregistering too.
So either the process wasn't followed or they came to visit them and everything was 'fine'

I cried for days about that. Its so devastating to think of a child who has nowhere to turn, no one to receive love, comfort, affection and reassurance from - ever. I can't bear the thought of it.
Arthur was another one where people witnessed the abuse and didn't report. That hairdressing pair should have been prosecuted.

Just read today’s headlines had to stop it was too much.

Gummybear23 · 15/10/2024 18:17

The mother wanted a maid.
I expect her biological.children were not abused.
Wicked bitch.
And bastard father and uncle.
Let them rot.

hattie43 · 15/10/2024 18:26

I'm shocked at reports about the neighbours who heard regular screaming but did nothing , apparently he even apologised to them for the noise .
This poor child has been failed at every level

Any form of screaming and distress would warrant a 999 call.

I also don't think the other children were abused. Sara was the family scapegoat, abused by her deranged relatives. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't partly racially motivated. Sara has a white Eastern European mother and, as we know from Rotherham, white girls and women are worthless to some of these communities. The three of them may well have felt entitled to abuse and "punish" this girl. Their culture may have presented a protective layer around these evil people.

The other children were very young. 4yo and under. I think they had 3 or 4 of them. Also Sara's older (by same mum as her) brother. I wonder if he was abused / talked about stuff at school. Not much mentioned about him.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 15/10/2024 18:54

What I don't get, is if they don't want children and they obviously don't if they're prepared to beat the shit out of them and torture them why do they have them?! Why not put them into care where hopefully they can be adopted by someone who would give them the love they deserve.

There are people out there who would give anything to be a parent yet we have monsters like this who have them.

SeniorMamma · 15/10/2024 18:55

Having read the latest on this, it's unspeakable. They didn't "just" abuse her

They tortured her.

And the court drawing of the evil trio, the accused look as if butter wouldn't melt, they probably see themselves as the real victims "she made us do it, she needed to be punished, we are good people". The step mother bought dozens of parcel tape to construct plastic hoods to place over Sara's head while the abuse presumably took place. Looks completely premeditated.

Wellingtonspie · 15/10/2024 19:05

With school and girls suddenly going missing. I know a secondary teacher who every summer holidays a girl or two just won’t return often leaving a couple of weeks early too. The other students inform her that said missing student got married and is often now “babbed up”.

The friends of such girl talking about it As if it’s totally normal not a care in the world school girls being married off during the holidays to much older men and getting pregnant asap.

So unfortunately Im not surprised that nothing came of the sudden homeschooling.

Arthur’s grandmother reported the suspected abuse more than once. Hughes’ own brother reported the abuse and went to the house but was told to leave by the police.

Arthur’s case distressed me so much I couldn’t listen to the recordings of him crying and limping trying to make a bed on the floor where he had to sleep. He was only 6!

i shall say again that reporting doesn’t necessarily achieve anything although everyone absolutely must report any suspected abuse.

In little Arthur’s case it was blamed on lockdown. Little Star’s case was because of fears of bias due to a traveller being the abuser. I think behind this is fear of racism, Islamophobia. These people know what to say what victimhood to claim. It makes me sick.

I disagree it was racially motivated.

This was a distinct case of child abuse by a step parent, father and uncle.

Even if the child had been the same heritage the step mother would have abused her all the same.

I don't agree the culture was protecting them.
They were not in a cultural diverse area.

Yet the school.and neighbours didn't report it.

It was not racial nor cultural. Please don't try to derail it.
It was Horrific child abuse.

Jukeboxjive · 15/10/2024 19:27

I'm not sure either about racially motivated acts but I guess that will come out if there was an element of it... However I don't think you need to live in a racially diverse area to be protected by the culture.
Some cultures do have a strong patriarchy and women can be viewed as lesser and have a less power etc.
