To wonder why I haven't powdered my lady parts before!!

Today I got some powder for my lady parts and it has transformed how I feel.... I actually can't believe it! I have been suffering a sweaty, chaffing, post-baby, peri-menopausal, swollen mess of a down below, and wow... It has just transformed how I feel! Anyone else??!! Why isn't this talked about!!!

OP posts:

Is that still true! Surely they've swapped ingredients since the 90s!

But I still doubt it's a good idea to dust it down there (thinking of thrush) Grin

So recently listened to a podcast on this. The issue with talc is that it is found near to where asbestos is found, which is why talc can be contaminated by asbestos.

LunaNorth · 12/10/2024 22:50

I can’t help but imagine the cornflour combining with the natural dampness to form a sort of crust.

A fanny piñata, if you will.

Who has a post baby and peri piece of kit all at the same time.

I’m not there yet and I’m not a doctor but I imagine if you’re an older mother (I’ve know a few people that have a had a child 40- early 40s) it’s not out of the realm of possibility to be perimenopausal not terribly long after having had a child

Skirtandshirt · 12/10/2024 22:29

Yeah I don’t often hear genuine ladies using the phrase “lady parts”.

Sorry but I am definitely female and say “ lady parts” sometimes! I don’t always find it appropriate to use the correct biological terminology particularly if making a lighthearted comment. It could be an age thing!

Femfresh

That just says it all.

It's suggesting your body smells and needs to smell 'feminine'.

Just shower twice a day .

How does powder make you feel more comfortable?

How do you feel without it?

Just asking.

Edited

Since having a baby I have itchy chafing stretch marks just above my pubic area. "Talc" (baby powder) there after a shower makes my day bearable. Some on my inner thighs is nice too.

There are so many nasty sneering posts on this thread from people with little imagination.

I don't wear makeup (a lot of which contains real talc), but I can stretch my imagination to understand how it makes people feel more comfortable to wear it, and consider how they feel when they're not wearing it. It's not at all for me, but the majority of women are happy putting endless chemicals onto their face every day in the name of feeling more comfortable in their own skin.

And yet poster after poster on this thread: "talc?!?!?! Wtf!!! Why ever would you dooooo that? What is it even for?!?"

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/10/2024 22:47

Why are you so offended by someone describing a menopausal problem in detail?

It happens. Like shitting in childbirth, sweaty feet, and colds making your lose snot by the pint out of your nose. Life is not sanitised.

I didn't say I was offended. You made that bit up.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 12/10/2024 22:55

I've not read four pages but talc didn't contain asbestos!! Talcs make up chemical structure was similar in shape to asbestos so the spikes on the compound attached on to the tissue and didn't let go..a bit like barbed wire.

I think it’s more that people are finding the tone of the post suspect, rather than actually passing judgement on the practice of powdering

I can’t decide if this is the least subtle guerrilla ad ever, or a perv post.

This. ^

StarSlinger · 12/10/2024 22:56

Can't you just use a bit of self raising?

I didnt make it up at all, I inferred it from your comment asking why the OP needed to describe it in detail. If it doesnt bother you, why ask?

Skirtandshirt · 12/10/2024 22:29

Yeah I don’t often hear genuine ladies using the phrase “lady parts”.

Yep. Not one single woman I know calls their vulva their 'lady parts.' 🙄

Can't believe some women are coming onto this thread and sharing claggy fanny tales. I'm out.

PyongyangKipperbang · 12/10/2024 22:58

Skirtandshirt · 12/10/2024 22:50

Guess we must know different kinds of ladies.

To me it’s very “Hey ladies, first-time poster here with a raunchy question just between us girls ;)”

Then report. As you are no doubt aware, troll hunting is against the rules.

It's none of your business why I asked ...

Why do people feel the need to share this with millions 😂

Because this is a forum for WOMEN, and others share the most extraordinarily detailed things...... Also it's bloody anonymous so what's the problem, fgs

Mamabearsmile · 12/10/2024 23:01

The planet!?! Shower twice a day? Shock horror, more dampness...ugh! No fragrance in corn talc. Great on the feet. So much nylon n polyester in underwear and socks, hotter than the sun, not good for comfort or fertility.

Are you going to run to Miss?

TomatoSandwiches · 12/10/2024 23:02

widelegenes · 12/10/2024 22:40

Surely putting powder on your vulva just makes it ermmm claggy?
If you're already sweating and chaffing wouldn't it be better to have a good wash, dry and put on fresh underwear (or none if you're at home and can go commando).

If it smells bad after a wash then I think a problem than FemFresh can't solve alone.

Claggy vag 😂

Please take care given “talc” causes cancer!

I was going to say this too. Really, don’t use it.

Could you find the source for whatever is wrong instead?

I was picturing it more as a roux for a béchamel sauce.

Newsenmum · 12/10/2024 23:06

CableCar · 12/10/2024 21:28

But the talc is what is carcinogenic... Not the corn starch that modern powders are made from?

Wait what powder is this? Femfresh are known for creating stuff that just cause more issues, generally.

If it wasn’t anonymous, they wouldn’t be sharing this, a made up post🙄
