Tmi but left sanitary towel in bathroom

This morning I accidentally left a sanitary towel on the bathroom side. I did roll it up as usual but it must have come undone. This has never happened before and it was a genuine accident. I normally always put it in the bin straight away. Next thing I know DP comes storming in the room shouting “are you having a laugh you fucking scruffy cunt”

I get that nobody would want to see that but it was a genuine accident that has never happened before and I feel so ashamed and embarrassed. I wouldn’t have a problem at all if he’d have come in the room and reminded me not to leave it on the side but what he did actually scared me a bit

Sorry I know tmi

DH is a big baby about periods too, but there's no way in hell he would come in yelling and swearing about it.

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:06

Well we just had an argument🫣 He’s been in a mood all morning since, not speaking to me, taking his mood out on the kids so I kind of exploded. I told him how he made me feel and I said I find his hygiene disgusting too sometimes. Like when he wees all over the toilet seat and doesn’t wipe it, or when there’s skid marks in the toilet. I wouldn’t normally bring those things up as I wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings but if he thinks it’s ok to shame me then I’ll do the same. I’ve put up with his bad moods and snappy reactions for too long now to keep my mouth shut

He’s going out to football later and will be out for most of the day so at least he’ll be out of my way

You partner is a twat. Why would you want to live with someone who speaks to you like this?

I think its time for divorce/seperation

Waterboatlass · 12/10/2024 10:07

So he's not an embarrassed teenager (not that it would be acceptable language or tone anyway).

He's a grown man who has accompanied you through two conceptions, pregnancies and births and is behaving like this at an accidental sight of menstrual blood?

If it was all the time I could understand being annoyed. But a one off or occasional mishap doesn't merit this nasty response.

If his behaviour is getting shitty towards you and now this I would think about a move to your mum's and considering your next steps. do you want to live with someone who doesn't seem to respect you much?

Squeezetheday · 12/10/2024 10:07

If my partner called me a cunt he would be out of the house on his arse faster than he could say the word cunt - the end!

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:08

If we separated I would be ok financially for those asking

He sounds so immature. Most people wouldn’t dream of humiliating their partner like that. Not the kind of man I’d want to spend my life with, personally. And not the kind of influence I’d want on my children. A rolled-up pad is no biggie. Periods are normal. It’s an easy mistake to make.

Although this may seem like a fairly small incident, it’s a big red flag in terms of how he thinks and treats people. It would be enough for me to seriously consider getting out of there.

We have 2 boys.

The relationship isn’t great at the moment. Since have DS2 he has become incredibly selfish. Leaves everything to me, goes out whenever he wants. He definitely doesn’t care about me or my feelings but when I pull him up on these things he ends up switching the blame. That’s why I started the thread because I wondered if I was genuinely being unreasonable. He makes me doubt myself a lot.

Someone asked if I was able to move out, I’d be able to go to my mums

Then start making plans to do so

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

Now I’m feeling bad for what I said to him🫣

I'm sure your mum would be much nicer than this horrid excuse for a man. Tell him you're taking your scruffy cunt arse off to your mums so you and the kids don't have to put up with his nasty ways any more.

Cheesecakecookie · 12/10/2024 10:10

Then for goks sake drop him like a hot potato. He is vile.

So you want your children to grow up thinking this is an acceptable was to treat a partner ?

Don't be ridiculous

What kind of partner and parent is he?

Whose house is it?

Waterboatlass · 12/10/2024 10:10

Just seen update. What did he say to that? Nice that he is lax with leaving wee on the seat etc but on it like a hawk if you make a mistake. Plus being shitty with the kids. I'd want plans to change, of probably leave things here. He just doesn't sound a great partner or dad, or example to the boys.

TheGoddessFreyja · 12/10/2024 10:11

omg that's a massive overreaction!

Tadpolecat · 12/10/2024 10:11

I wouldn't be having that. If he doesn't apologise, i'd be out personally.

Don't feel bad what you said to him! He should be the one feeling bad!

LetsSeeHowFarWeveCome · 12/10/2024 10:11

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

Now I’m feeling bad for what I said to him🫣

Genuinely, WHY?

He's okay with leaving you his pee and shit to clean up. Literally.

And YOU feel bad???

He's really done a number on you.

Do you want your boys to be just like him? Be honest.

ahemfem · 12/10/2024 10:11

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

You're giving as good as you get but yeah this isn't great for the kids

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

Now I’m feeling bad for what I said to him🫣

Has he said he's feeling bad and apologised?

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

Now I’m feeling bad for what I said to him🫣

Is he feeling bad for what he said to you? No. So why would you feel bad for standing up for yourself? It sounds like he's caused major self esteem issues for you.

Dery · 12/10/2024 10:12

He sounds horrible, OP. It’s difficult with shared DCs but it sounds like you and the DCs would be better off if you and this man split up.

Mookytoo · 12/10/2024 10:12

I’d say it’s on par with leaving poopy toilet tissue on side. Some people ok with it … others visceral reaction.
I’m sure you will get payback at some point when he doesn’t flush or leaves skids.

Barryplopper · 12/10/2024 10:12

Wow he's an arsehole, I've done this a few times and my oh just puts it into the bin for me

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 12/10/2024 10:13

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:09

Now I’m feeling bad for what I said to him🫣

Don't feel bad. You left an essential product on the side clearly by accident and he calls you that, but he leaves the loo regularly in disgusting state?

It's him love, not you.

Embarrassed3 · 12/10/2024 10:14

I’d be horrified if my sons ever treated somebody like this when they’re older. Thank fully they didn’t hear any of this exchange. DS1 recently learnt about periods at school and never once said anything negative about it. Way more mature than his dad already

When DP was growing up, his dad wasn’t involved so he lived with his mum and sister so you’d think he’d be more mature about periods
