This morning I was given 1/2 a bottle of Bollinger by a grateful client. Tonight I am home alone which is a very rare treat. I chilled it, poured myself a lovely glass and when I returned from a badly timed wee, I saw my cat - tongue right in there!

AIBU to pretend I did not see that she put the tongue she cleans her ass with in the Champagne?

YABU throw it away - there is a glass left to enjoy anyway you filthy animal
YANBU go on, drink it 😳drink both

nottaotter · 11/10/2024 21:18

Your cat so totally fine to drink, someone else's I prob wouldn't.....

Fullfatandfortyplus · 11/10/2024 21:19

My cat had a good slurp of my tea this morning but I drank it anyway

no, a full half bottle - 37.5cl :) delicious!

Oooh very nice. The bubbles will kill any cat nasties.

BOTTOMS UP

@Sayoonara as a child my entire family contracted hepatitis after being in contact with infected fox poo. It was horrendous, my DM was seriously seriously ill, as were 2 of my Dsis. The remainder of us were almost taken into care as DM was too ill to care for us - I was 12, my next Dsis was just 9, and the two of us did all the shopping, cooking, cleaning and caring for the family for months, including looking after a 5 yo sibling and 3 seriously ill family members.

Heavy cold or not, you were completely nuts! And I say that as someone who hates food waste.

Iamnotalemming · 11/10/2024 21:24

Photos please of the champagne drinking cat. Sounds like my kinda gal.

SoNiceToComeHomeTo · 11/10/2024 21:25

I'd drink it. Booze is sterilising, and anyway if you ever stroke your cat then touch your mouth without washing your hands, you have already ingested her germs. Enjoy!

I'd drink it, but my gauge for 'waste not want not' when it comes to bacteria is seriously skewed.

I dropped an expensive packet of blueberries face down in fox diarrhoea a few days ago. The packet had those little 'air holes' so the poo would have touched a couple of berries. Instead of being a normal person and chucking the whole lot, I decanted the berries into a sieve and poured boiling water over them, and then rinsed and soaked them.

I ate half and then got totally horrified at myself and chucked the rest.

Yuk!! What the hell lol

Twototwo15 · 11/10/2024 21:26

Oh yuck! I would throw the whole glass away. We all know where cats tongues have been.

Gross!

Just wash things. Blueberries fine after a wash, Tupperware fine after a wash. Champagne less easily washable but agree with others, fine to drink

pinkpjamas1 · 11/10/2024 21:33

How is this even a question?! Gerrit bloody supped.

mumda · 11/10/2024 21:33

I'd probably been sharing mugs of tea for years before I actually caught the cat drinking it.

Mirrrors · 11/10/2024 21:35

I found my cat whiskers deep in the mug of water I always leave on my bedside table the other night. I don’t know how long this has been going on for 😩 I’d drink the champagne but am flabbergasted over the fox berries!

CFbillsplitter · 11/10/2024 21:36

100% What cat?

Gettingbysomehow · 11/10/2024 21:36

Drink it you'll be fine. I once drank the whole glass of water next to my bed not realising at the time both cats drank out of it when I was at work. I'm still here.

Strictlymad · 11/10/2024 21:38

Twinklewonderkins · 11/10/2024 21:14

I’d drink the Cattopagne, but totally draw the line at Fox Pooberrries.

Brilliant 😂

user47 · 11/10/2024 21:38

It is drunk. I am on my second delicious and cat anus free glass 😂

I keep my bedside water in a bottle for this reason.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 11/10/2024 21:47

ahemfem · 11/10/2024 20:47

Do you mean half an already open bottle?

I take it she means a small bottle ( a half bottle) rather than a normal sized one, not that the grateful client said "Here you go, have the rest of this!" and handed over an open bottle.

Gia899 · 11/10/2024 21:54

I would have chucked it resentfully and I love Bollinger! I couldn't have savoured it thinking of my cat licking her arsehole. 😂 But I would have wished I hadn't seen the little fucker tbh!

I cannot believe this thread btw when there are so many threads about competitive cleanliness! 😂 Are you all usually competitive cleaners and germ-phobes but you've had a few too many on this Friday eve?

AdoraBell · 11/10/2024 21:56

Speaking as a dog owner 🤢 don’t drink the glass she started off. Hope you enjoy the rest of your Champagne and also hope the 🐱 doesn’t have a bad hangover.

Compash · 11/10/2024 21:59

I was ready to be outraged about the Champagne Thief... but then I saw it was a Cat. All things belong to Cats, and you should be grateful to be allowed to sip Cat's dregs...

Pipsquiggle · 11/10/2024 21:59

Well done OP. Definitely did the right thing by drinking all of it. Hope you have a lovely night x
