What are you making for dinner?

Slightly boring post

We’re all inside today, Dd not that well, fancy making something nice for dinner, not roast yet, did lasagna and Spag bol last week. Did want to start using my slow cooker, but too late now to make for dinner (have to get ingredients etc)
Any ideas for a nice dinner on Sunday, maybe something autumnal maybe?

Chicken burgers with salad and cheese in the middle, new potatoes with herbs and coleslaw. Washed down with cold diet coke 😋

@Snackpocket Do you have a link at all please? This sounds a nice take on chicken pie

I’m making coconut miso salmon curry with spinach and mangetout- not really Sunday comfort food but the 3 year old likes it!

Ooh, do you have a recipe?

was going to do minestrone but like the sound of this

Notimeforaname · 06/10/2024 12:57

Carrot and coconut soup, soda bread.

worriedgal · 06/10/2024 13:02

Hunter's chicken, sweet potato and potato wedges ,broccoli and peas.

(Chicken breast wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce and cheese

BrimfulofSasha · 06/10/2024 13:05

Sausage and butter bean cassoulet. With spinach and mushrooms. Healthy but comforting. Also packs well for work lunches.

whatsinmypockets · 06/10/2024 13:13

Beef stew in the slow cooker for us today, with a root veg mash and green beans.

Was on the verge of butter chicken curry, but the beef was on sale this morning so I nabbed it...

Gosh this thread is making me hungry!

StonwEd · 06/10/2024 13:20

Wings, ribs, wedges and slaw. Masses of Cherry Pepsi Max

Definitelynotem · 06/10/2024 13:21

Cottage pie with asparagus and extra gravy, then probably apple and cinnamon crumble for dessert. Feeling very autumnal!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 06/10/2024 13:27

We are having chicken, bacon and leek pie (topped with potato rather than pastry). Will serve with carrots and broccoli. It feels suitably autumnal.

PurBal · 06/10/2024 13:27

Lentil Dahl would be a good choice if you want to use the slow cooker.

We're having chicken stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon for dinner.

BobbyBiscuits · 06/10/2024 13:28

I'm not cooking today.
Going to eat what I made yesterday which was new potatoes, mixed bean and pepper salad, and have with tinned tuna, lettuce and cucumber.
Lazy AF. Lol

Just do a nice traybake, chicken, potatoes, onions, courgettes, cherry toms?
And buy some nice pudding like a roulade cake or cheesecake! 😁

gingercat02 · 06/10/2024 13:28

DS is going out, so DH and I are having pasta carbonara. It's our favourite, and DS hates it.

RotiCanai · 06/10/2024 13:39

Cheese ham and spinach baked pancake stack… yesterday was Parmesan chicken with cheesy scalloped potatoes and putting a sausage and butter bean casserole on the rota for this week as well which I highly recommend from the hairy bikers- definitely comfort food time of year!

Cheesy pancake stack | Jamie Oliver recipes

Taking inspiration from an iconic Provençal bake, this speedier version is sure to go down a treat.

Chilli con carne and garlic bread. Although the weather is so nice we could have had a last minute bbq.

AutumnGarland · 06/10/2024 13:44

We’re having roasted red pepper Mac and cheese.

Spottymushroom · 06/10/2024 13:45

Shepherds pie with a leek and kale mash. The children (all adults) have asked for yorkshires to go with it 🙄.
Apple crumble and custard for dessert.

rosydreams · 06/10/2024 13:48

if i was you i would make something fresh with lots of veg its a good break from the stodgy

But for my family tonight its my first weekend off in over a month so keeping it simple yet interesting carbonara

brbg2g · 06/10/2024 13:49

Similar to a PP we are having sausage mash onion gravy and veg. It's cold and rainy here so wanting something warm and delicious.

LoveSeptember · 06/10/2024 13:53

We are trying out a slow cooker campfire stew recipe with jacket potatoes (gammon, beans, baked beans, peppers, tinned tomatoes and bbq seasoning in the slows cooker untill gammon tears apart) hopefully will hit the spot for autumn comfort food.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 06/10/2024 13:57

Roast chicken, haven't had a roast for about a year but the kids asked for it.

Dr13Hadley · 06/10/2024 13:58

Just soup tonight. Had a pretty heavy weekend for food as early birthday celebrations for DCs with long distance grandparents coming to stay so had lunch buffet, Chinese takeaway dinner and cake yesterday then full English this morning.
Nice comforting soup tonight and a long soak in a bath before back to work tomorrow!

Scutterbug · 06/10/2024 14:03

Leftover chilli! Just me at dinner time as DH is out.
