To not want to go to the airport 3 hours before?

Since we started dating he has always been strict about time keeping. Was always very early to our dates and he's on the spectrum.

We are going for a long weekend next week, the flight is 2 hours. He says he wants to go 3 hours before the flight.

I don't want to do this. I haven't come from a family that spent 3 hours in the airport and I never go earlier than 2. I see it as a waste of time.

But it seems ridiculous not to go together. On the other hand, why should I agree to go at his time?

I'm here very early and before him. His first bus was cancelled!

In reality I'm just hanging about waiting 45 mins for baggage to open now. Yes I'm here on time but will I come this early again? Maybe maybe not!

So he's probably having outright hysterics on the bus about being terribly late?

I guess this is exactly why he plans to get there so early - had he arranged the later bus and that was cancelled/delayed I guess he could have missed the flight.

Poor guy is probably spiralling right now though, I know I would be (also ND). I hope his next bus gets him there in plenty of time.

I actually stopped going away with a friend of mine because she was like this. Wanted to get to the airport with the minimum amount of time. Then when we got there when it was literally about to board, she absolutely NEEDED a drink and by the time we got to the gate we were always the last people on the plane. Made me so anxious.
