Has anyone signed up for the Coldplay presale? This is for the dates that they are playing next year in Wembley and Hull. I think that we are supposed to get an email about it tomorrow

No you didn't.

When I went to the Coldplay website earlier this week,

their homescreen said "if you want to enter the presale, enter your email address here to sign up for it".

That's all I did. I didn't buy an album and I wasn't asked to buy one anywhere.

Then they sent me an email with the presale code Later in the week.

When I went to the Coldplay website it said

"If you want to enter the pre-sale , fill in this form with your email address. "

And that was it. I was in the presale

@MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet I worked out today that you needed to be under 30000 when first getting into the queue to stand any chance of getting a ticket - I started off this morning at over 102,000 for Aug 30, then around 90,000 for the early Sept shows, then around 80,000 for the later Sept shows. Completely pointless to stay in the queue but I found I weirdly could not leave. Am thinking I will apply some logic tomorrow and if over 50 or 60,000 in the queue just bin it - life's too short, and I could watch it on TV as a last resort! ... Good luck!! 😀

I think there is something in this… I was around 30,000 in the queue this morning and felt like I got some of the very last tickets for my date…

Apparently they're not legally allowed to do this, so people could get a code without purchase and that's how so many bots got into the system today. There was a form that you had to fill in to register on the website.

I'm a bit cross about it tbh because I don't even own a CD player but bought one anyway..... it was very clever marketing.

They all do it, but the small print will tell you that no purchase is necessary.

If I wanted to go, I'd be buying a resale from Twickets, saves all the hassle.

Coldplay paint themselves as so much more ethical, I call bullshit

Is anyone thinking of trying again tomorrow? I'm really in two minds - I've been massively distracted today with the added dates throughout the day! Does Coldplay not realise that we are all working alongside trying to get tickets for their flippin shows!!!

No they don't. They leave it all to the paymasters Ticketmaster who are happy to be Dr. Evil. The company know exactly how to get money out of us. They want you in the queue anticipating getting tickets and when you get through you HAVE DONE IT!! And you will buy them almost at any price. Acts don't care about you and me. It's bums on seats at the highest price we will pay.

I wonder why they are releasing new dates every couple of hours today.

They are leading you in. 50k queuing but look a new date, I'll get on that one, rinse and repeat. How we all keep falling for it I can't understand but people do.

But now they make serious money. If they got £1 off every record sale they wouldn't be as rich as they are now. Live shows especially at the top end are generating £100s of millions

Yes I did that too (pre ordered a CD) but then in the FAQ section there was a a "np purchase necessary" link where you could fill in a form to get a code! My friend found it after I'd ordered the CD - I don't even have a CD player!

The message I got said that you could pre-order the album and get a code but when it got to the order bit it said at the top that no purchase was necessary. I pre-ordered it anyway and ended up getting two codes but didn't get any tickets in the end.🙄

Yeah I had the Moon Music release email and an offer that you'd get a presale code if you bought one. It was def in the small print that no purchase was necessary.
