Bought this for my niece's birthday because she loves animals but now am having second thoughts. She's quite a trendy girl, into goth clothes/makeup etc. Would she be seen dead carrying this? It's weekend bag-sized.

I'm with you OP, they look like the sort of images you see advertised as a set of souvenir decorative plates in the back of old lady magazines! 😂

Having thought about it some more I would probably go with cash rather than a voucher. A lot of the goth/emo/rocker/alternative girls I know love getting a one off from a vintage shop or something from Etsy or Vinted or boutique type little shops (as did I at that age!). It tends to be more about being different or original rather than branded or very obviously 'goth'

I would have suggested Banned Apparel but Nemesis Now aren't £80 for a bag that a teen might not use and have more messenger style bags fitting with what OP had already bought.

Haha… not as extreme as any of those! But the first one looks like me in secondary school.

I think it was described as "oilloth". It feels kind of like plastic on the outside and the inside is fabric-lined.

Mostly black but with something quirky on top.
