Woke up not long ago feeling really sick then eventually threw up. DS was vomiting this exact time early hours on Friday so looks like I’ve caught that🙃 Why does this shit always happen at this time, just want to sleep😴 Hi to anyone awake!

I throw up a lot with my condition and I know that if the relief isn't there you aren't finished or it's a bug. Hope you feel better soon being sick is the worst.

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 16/09/2024 06:39

I’m at the stage where I have the horrible retching but nothing coming up☠️

@Coffeeandbiscuits9 hopefully you're turning a corner

I'm watching celebrity race across the world now

@Meadowfinch Thank You! I'm so excited to get started, I'm starting a bit late (I'm almost 25) but I've always wanted to go to uni and then things happened in my life. So I can't believe that I have actually got to this point

Congratulations! I hope your first day goes really well and you forget your tiredness in all the excitement! Do you mind if I ask what your subject is?
Oh, and commiserations to everyone on here who is suffering one way and another and congratulations to the mums who are up with new babies!

Trigger it to come up, horrible but effective. Make sure you are having fluids (stupid I know). Full fqt coke helps me with energy like this too

Have my first day at uni today and anytime I have to wake up early I always have a disturbed night. Woke at 2:45 and was trying to get back to sleep until 4.50 when I gave up as alarm is set for 6.
I'm going to be dead later 😭

Good luck

I went back to uni in my 40's and I loved it

It was full of people all ages especially for my course because it wasn't a Russell group uni

I got on with all ages so it was fine

You just sit with random people you've met or seen on your course at first and take it from there

Stirmish · 16/09/2024 08:54

Well there is an upside to being an insomniac because one of my neighbours earlier added something she wanted to give away earlier on our street WhatsApp group and for once I was around and on time to collect something

I usually miss out on random decent items

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 16/09/2024 04:26

@HowDidThisHappenDinesh Oh no😫 it’s horrible isn’t it. I hate being sick. How long has it lasted for you so far? I think even if I could sleep I’d have trouble considering how loud my stomach is gurgling😒

It seems to have been just a one night thing, I got the relief after the fourth or so time 😣 managed to sleep a bit with an icepack for my head. Can you throw up from a headache ? It was really pounding.
I plan to curl up on the sofa all day and rest up, hope you can too!

You can if it’s a migraine! My pounding migraine headaches cause me to vomit continuously for up to 12 hours … awful.

Drawahardline · 16/09/2024 11:04

Hope everyone is doing ok. Watched back to back movies until now, DW has gone to work so I’ve got to look after both Dd’s and myself.

They are really feeling shitty, it’s unlike them. I will probably go see if I can get some vitals done as being a control freak doctor I have all the machines at home Blush.

I feel ok, just keep vomiting and even vomit up water so I’m going to just try to make it through today and then DW is off tomorrow and I’ll make appointments for whoever needs them.

How are you guys?

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 16/09/2024 13:09

Spent most of the morning almost in tears because of how bad I felt. Stomach cramps, back ache, lightheadedness, just generally horrible. Then my mum came round with one of those orange push up ice lollies (calippo I think) and omg best thing I had ever tasted at that moment. Managed to have a couple of hours sleep. I still feel a bit groggy but I feel like the worst of it’s over (really hope I haven’t jinxed myself)

OP posts:
UnRavellingFast · 16/09/2024 13:20

Glad the calippo worked. They’re so refreshing! We have slept a bit since coming back from our seven hour A&E delight. The woman who came round with tea at 3am felt like a superhero to me

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 16/09/2024 13:24

@UnRavellingFast glad you’ve managed some sleep!

Just a question, is it normal to get body aches with a bug? I’ve never heard it be a symptom before. The back of my legs and hips are so painful! Might have a bath while DC are at school and nursery see if it helps.

OP posts:
HelloDaisy · 16/09/2024 14:57

My body aches a bit but only my back was really painful although think there may just be from lying in bed for so long!
I now just feel a bit jittery and dizzy.

Hope the bath helps 😀

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 16/09/2024 15:02

@HelloDaisy I feel a bit like I’ve been run over but I can deal with that🤣 I’m just glad the vomiting, nausea and stomach cramps have gone away🙏🏼

Now to see if DH or DS1 catches it🙄

I don’t know how normal it is but I had nasty body aches when I had covid.

@PlummyPears I’ve never had a migraine before but I was sensitive to light last night as well so maybe it was that. I hope not.
Been sleeping all day so I’ll probably be up all night again now.

Well I am up again.its not unusual as I have 2 children wuth complex needs. One needs a lot of night care so I am often up pottering. I did go to bed shattered at 11 and slept til 4 so a decent night tbh. My day has now begun as no chance of anymore sleep. .How about you? Hope you have had a good night and it was good if you to check.in ( though I guess you were mostly doing so for those with horrible sickness bugs. Radio.silence from all of them so hopefully everyone else having a great night's sleep and recovering well )

Tradio · 17/09/2024 05:30

😂 yes radio silence hopefully is good news for them, I didn’t think through posting that!

You sound like you are managing a lot under challenging circumstances.

I don’t have any experience of caring for complex needs children but I imagine it leaves little to no openings for a rest later in the day.

I have a thing this afternoon which I’ll find exhausting, tempered by knowing I can shut the world out for a bit afterwards though so not dreading it as much as I would if I was working.

Hope everyone has a better day whatever time it starts (or ends) for them.

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 17/09/2024 06:53

@Tradio Hi, pretty much back to normal today! Thank you for asking😊

@flapjackfairy That sounds tough. Up to do the school run which I normally hate but after how I felt yesterday it’ll be nice to actually get dressed and get some fresh air!

And hope this afternoon goes well. x @Coffeeandbiscuits9
Glad you are feeling on the mend . X

Tradio · 17/09/2024 08:32

Glad you are over the worst Coffee and hope the school run perks you up even further.

Thanks Flapjack may our days go well and our nights hold no terrors (or at always have t’internet for MNing incase they do!)

Coffeeandbiscuits9 · 17/09/2024 08:41

Oh god I don’t know if anybody will know but I’ve just dropped DS off at school and apparently there’s a bug going around his class😣 question is, if DS catches the bug from his class, could he then bring it home and infect us again? I think I read there’s different strains so that’s why I’m wondering
