Glad to see justice finally. These crimes go back to 2003-2008. But what protections are in place now to prevent the same abuse? The victims here were in the care system and so badly let down. Where were the adults who were responsible for these children some as young as 11?

There was a victim statement read out in court which was heartbreaking, I really hope these women can get a modicum of solace from the sentencing of these cretins.

What the then-11 year old victim said was so shocking and upsetting. She had her whole life stolen from her. Can't believe it's taken so long to get justice. And this is still happening in places. Crazy!

Yes, this is what I keep thinking. We're not talking about the 70's or 80's. This happened under the noses of social workers, foster parents etc trained in child Safeguarding.

I read Maggie Oliver Oliver's book "Survivors" recently. It was very eye opening. I also watched her on , and she mentions how the police didn't record the statistics about who was raping the girls, because they didn't want them to be recorded.

It's a disgusting mess.

I live in the area, it still is going on, there Is a number of areas in Rotherham that police don't bother policing.

Teachers observing young girls being picked up outside school gates, police ignoring reports of abuse saying it's a lifestyle choice. Members of the community covering up for a load of paedophiles and predators.

The Council and various departments dismissing repeated reports and letting this continue unabated for years.

6 years for one, 15 years for another etc for ruining that many children’s lives doesn’t sound like justice is served to me.
