Lucy Letby’s scribbled notes

1000 replies

Figmentofmyimagination · 03/09/2024 22:16

At times when I’m feeling acutely distressed, it’s not at all unusual for me to scribble all sorts of dreadful thoughts down on paper eg die die die, hate hate hate, I hate you, I hate you, what’s the point of you, my fault, stupid me, etc etc etc, usually scribbling them all out so nobody can see what I’ve written. I’m pretty sure this is quite a common response to acute mental distress. I agree with this article that it feels very surprising that Letby’s scribblings were used as evidence of a ‘confession’.

Still births is a different department though. I can't see that has any bearing one way or another.

I’d actually say a poorly run maternity unit (and im not saying this one was) will have a massive impact on the number of deaths in the hospitals neonatal unit. If a maternity unit is having issues not only will you have a higher number of stillbirths you’d also have a higher number of premature babies needing nicu care, a higher number of poorly babies needing nicu care. A proportion of these might be too ill to make it, causing an increase in deaths on the neonatal unit.

I’m not saying that’s what happened here. I’ve no idea. But just that one can very much have a bearing on the other.

wtf? What exactly is it about her mugshot which makes her look like a monster?

You can see the stark difference in her demeanour, the darkness of her eyes, the thuggish and defiant stare. Compare the mugshot pic to the ones of her smiling holding the baby or her nights out. The monster comes from within - from the evil inside her that led her to murder those babies. It is an individual perception not an objective fact and you 'get it' or you don't.

But none of the babies LL killed had this virus.

If they had it, it would been found in their autopsies.

Only if they were tested for it. Were they?

The problem with this is I and a highly experienced nurse have stood at a bedside of a patient whose the ventilator randomly stopped working and therefore the patient was desaturating. We were completely still for approximatley a minimum of 8 secs of to to observe the patient, check with ourselves, check with each other, confirm that what was happening was happening then formulate a plan and take action.

This comment from the judge demonstrates to me a strong misunderstanding of the day-to-day grind of working in health care.

Edited

A ventilator randomly not working anymore is very different to a baby that has been intubated and suddenly not intubated for the brief time that Letby was with him alone. She stood by and watched and did nothing to reintubate him as he was desaturating, when she knew he was intubated by the baby’s designated nurse who briefly left the room.

Surely the poster who claims the babies had this should answer this?

Are you serious?! That reads like something from the 19th century.
Of course there’s a difference in demeanour between the ward photo and her mugshot!

BeyondSmoake · 04/09/2024 09:41

My passport photo looks like that, pretty sure it doesn't prove I'm a murderer.

I’m sorry but this is crackers. She probably hasn’t slept for ages hence looking pale and bags under her eyes. I wouldn’t be smiling if have mugshot taken. If she was smiling people like you would be screaming that was evidence of her being a psychopath. I see no thuggish defiant stare, just someone who looks a bit scared which is understandable.

I didn't say it was proof of anything did I? I said it was my perception and not an objective fact. The mugshot did not form part of the evidence presented to the jury, rest assured.

Deranged, OK. Did you read the Judge's sentencing remarks to her? He basically said the same. This woman is an evil creep. Sorry you cant see that, maybe get some help to improve your perception and depth of understanding.

Again its perception. She was just booked in, in her Lee Cooper tracksuit after she had been arrested.

She looks different in the mugshot because of the charges against her. Pretty sure your eyes would look a bit dark too if you had been arrested on suspicion of murder 🙄

Marinade · 04/09/2024 09:51

All the people defending her read the judge's sentencing remarks below- the judge who heard every single piece of evidence: She tried to murder a baby who was thankfully saved and then interfered with her breathing tube again - demonstrating a relentless campaign of murder against these babies. She creeped and stalked the parents on facebook at pertinent times. No remorse shown by her, she gave evidence and was not believed by the jury.

He came to check on Baby K and saw you standing by her incubator doing nothing as she continued to desaturate. He ventilated Baby K through a small mask and she picked up extremely quickly. She was re-intubated and stabilised. You maintained your interest in Baby K and interfered with her breathing again at least once more just before your night shift ended.

You would often conduct searches on Facebook for parents of babies you had murdered or attempted to murder. I repeat what I have said before, only you know the reason or reasons for your murderous campaign

You have no remorse. There are no mitigating factors. In their totality, the offences of murder and attempted murder were of exceptionally high seriousness and just punishment, according to law, requires a whole life order.

It’s a bacteria.

It can cause sepsis.

Every baby who died was being treated for suspected sepsis.

Yes she knew the game was up and her killing would be exposed - an awareness of your own guilt and a realisation that your murderous campaign will be exposed will tend to remove the veneer you present to the world.

BeyondSmoake · 04/09/2024 09:54

Pseudomonas aeruginosa - from the sewage that was leaking into the ward

HelloMiss · 03/09/2024 22:25

If she didn't kill those babies then who did??

Funny how it's all stopped..

How would we know how many emergencies or deaths have occurred since she stopped working there, have they published their figures.

Yes the veneer is gone and the mask of sweetness and respectability is gone when the police arrest you at 6am for multiple murders of neonates.

Why are some people so obsessed with Letby being innocent? 🙄

Babies who were doing well suddenly became ill, always when she was on shift, and then died.
And since she’s been arrested it’s stopped.

This doesn’t scream cover up to me.

Oh well if she was wearing a Lee Cooper tracksuit nuff said. Guilty on all counts.
