My dad is a 60 something year old who still runs ultras. He will fly across the globe to run one, book his time off work, and won't tell a soul other than his nearest and dearest. He does it for himself. Saves for it, trains for it, quietly and humbly.

I’ve never watched MIC, But I know Spencer more from his relationship with Vogue (she’s been well-known in Ireland for a long time). I think she’s been good for him. I like her!

I was an avid made in Chelsea viewer back in the day and it was complete nonsense. Basically just like the barbie melodramas I used to play.

The producers did pick some great characters. And as they have grown up in the media they seem to be complete human beings. Who knew posh people had feelings and sadness in their lives. (I'm very fond of Jamie Laing, he's a sweet chap)

Spencer's marriage with Vogue seems genuine and he was green-flag obsessed with her when he did celebrity manhunt. I think he's has picked someone quite different to his social circle which is fascinating and hints at a decent character underneath. I also think it's quite interesting how his education/privilege has played a part in driving the marathon ambitions.

I mean yes the money raised for charity is great but ultimately this is a very privileged rich man who has done something very dangerous, taking him away from his very young family. If Joe Bloggs was doing eg cave diving for charity spending months training and leaving his wife and kids at home he’d be ripped to shreds on Mumsnet….

I ‘met’ him once when I was working at an airport in Spain. He had an economy ticket but didn’t want to queue, tried a slimy charm offensive that made me cringe. Obviously, I was polite but rules were rules. a few minutes later he can over again to smarmily thank me for my help having hoodwinked someone, who recognised him, towards the front of queue into letting him go first. 🤮
