I dont care if theyre pals or not

I liked them in the 90s, they are just old millionaires now

Am sick of seeing them in the news

This is hardly headline news but apparently it is.

The fact they won’t be recording any new material <—- lazy bastards

Id be similarly excited by a reunion of the spice girls. Ie not much.

Re the spice girls, how many of them have continued to release albums that have sold well since the band split? How well did their tours do?

Compare and contrast with Oasis and how Liam and Noel have continued to sell albums and sell out tours. Liam was the Sunday night headline act for Reading this week which is known as having a younger fan base than many other festivals.

Willoo · 29/08/2024 06:44

Other people care. Are we only allowed to see news you want to see? This is a big deal wether you agree or not

RedToothBrush · 29/08/2024 08:12

Three more dates added already.

Due to unprecedented demand, three new UK dates will be added to Oasis Live ‘25 🔥
🎸Heaton Park - July 16th
🎸Wembley - July 30th
🎸Edinburgh - August 12th

RedToothBrush · 29/08/2024 08:14

That's Wednesday night for Heaton Park and Wembley and a Tuesday for Edinburgh.

They'll add extra dates for sure in addition to those

They haven't even gone on sale yet!

Pottedpalm · 29/08/2024 08:16

I object to the BBC giving them free advertising by announcing the ‘news’ and dates of their concerts.

Firdbeeder · 29/08/2024 08:44

Oasis spent their entire career slagging off everyone and everything yet look at these bores pulling the toxic positivity card for a lightweight thread about them. Consider it a return to the 90s when we were cynical about everything if criticising your cash in old millionaires makes you sad.

Yes! This is what I can't understand!

What do you gain for hating something other people like? Ok, you don’t like them - so? Don’t buy tickets to their gig then.

Yeh. It’s not compulsory. You won’t get into trouble. Lighten up ffs

CruCru · 29/08/2024 10:37

It’s a pity that Oasis are touring again because it makes things more difficult for newer bands. Oasis will get their pick of arenas and are already getting a lot of airtime. This will have a trickle down effect on other bands.

Newer bands are not going to be picking the same size venue ….they won’t have the fan base to fill stadiums

Any band that can contemplate filling an arena is not doing badly. Quite the opposite.

listsandbudgets · 29/08/2024 11:01

I do t much care partuuclary but I am pleased for their parents.

Imagine your children going through a very public rift and barely talking to each other for was it 7 years..If I was their mum I'd be so relieved

luckylavender · 29/08/2024 11:05

I'm quite excited. But I couldn't care less about lots of things, so I ignore them.

westisbest1982 · 29/08/2024 11:06

“Toxic positivity card” yes I love that term @Firdbeeder

They’re such bores. And insecure about themselves because they can’t accept that people have a different opinion to them.

No they won't. But the newer bands who might have played in a stadium will have to find other venues. They won't get their music played as much on the radio (and will be bumped off the number 1).

The next level of bands who would have played the other venues now won't. They definitely won't get their stuff played on the radio.

GogAndMagog · 29/08/2024 12:00

Liam punched Patsy Kensit so hard backstage she passed out.

That's the person he is.

TaylorBrown · 29/08/2024 12:03

They will sell a lot of tickets. I will also trying to be getting a ticket. I would pick them over ts any day.

zingally · 29/08/2024 12:13

Me neither. They weren't my thing in the 90s, and they're not now either. I've no interest in going.

I was similarly bemused by the Taylor Swift mania. So many acquaintances of mine went ga-ga over her shows, despite having LITERALLY never mentioned her before.

SandandSky · 29/08/2024 12:31

Well I am excited! We have got our fingers crossed that tickets won’t be too extortionate/we’ll actually be able to get some

RedToothBrush · 29/08/2024 12:42

The people who are buying oasis fall into two camps.

They are either going to be older and frankly not interested in new bands.

Or

Be really into music and see a pile of bands.

No one ever made this accusation in the past. Indeed bands like Oasis have always supported new talent and given them a big break to taking things to the next stage by giving support slots.

Do you think that Liam headlining Reading helped or hindered new bands? Liam being there was a big draw for the Festival and that meant lots of other new bands got a slot on the smaller stages and introduced to a new audience.

Saying that it's going to kill opportunities for new bands fundamentally fails to understand the industry.

Appalonia · 29/08/2024 15:59

This made me laugh

I dont feckin care about Oasis

Completely agree
at Kendal calling a few weeks ago I watched Noel and his band….then moved stages to watch some youngsters perform an ‘emerging talent’ set…..I attended the festival because I was attracted to the main acts ….wouldn’t have seen those young people otherwise …..and I will remember them if they make it big ….I remember seeing George Ezra when he was very young on the bbc introducing stage at Glastonbury and thinking that boy is good

RedToothBrush · 29/08/2024 19:33

£150 per ticket for Heaton Park.
Minimum.

Edinburgh and Cardiff have cheaper tickets in the seats but that's looking like the cheapest option for Heaton Park.

westisbest1982 · 29/08/2024 20:04

This is a good time to be an owner or shareholder in a hotel chain or rent out a room on Airbnb in Manchester. Hotel prices are crazy high for the nights Oasis are playing in the city. Had to chuckle just now when I saw that the rather scuzzy Britannia Hotel on Portland Street are asking £499 to stay there on July 16th in a double room with no window, yet one week before it costs £115.

I will be driving home IF I get Manchester tickets ….the prices went high when I went to see take that in June ….but not that mental!
