Family coming before child's first day at school

Just wondering if I'm being unreasonable or not?is this a thing?had some family members ask me what time they were to come at before child's first day at school for photos with them? I was flabbergasted and said I'd confirm because I was like eh??

My head tells me absolutely not, it's a special family moment not for others to come along too but not sure if I'm just being precious.

Just thought I'd put a wee update on here. I basically said no - keeping it low key, seen them on 17th August before school started on 20th August, not been in contact since to check how getting on, visited or anything, nearly 3 months. Think I made the right decision. A*sehole of a woman!!!

Glad you made the correct decision for your DD. Hope she is getting on well in school.

Typical . It’s all about the appearance for some people. I had a similar situation where DH thought is a good idea for GPs to be involved in the 1st school day. I gently explained we only get 1 first school day and they’ve had their bit already so all was good in the end.
