The paraplegic patients who are now able to operate a computer using just their mind. Two have now been fitted with Neurolink devises and they're hoping to fit at least 8 more this year. Neuralink has implanted second trial patient with brain chip, Elon Musk says | Elon Musk | The Guardian
He funded Starlink in Ukraine for many months (and no, he didn't turn it off when they wanted to attack Russia; it was never turned on in that area and he said he wouldn't turn it on without an order from the government as he didn't feel he should be responsible for authorising military attacks.) He's also provided Starlink to Brazil after floods, and recently to a hospital in Gaza. Other places too which I can't remember offhand. Aside from emergency assistance, Starlink is being used all over the world to improve lives such as in remote schools or hospitals - plenty of stories to keep you busy here: Starlink Stories | Starlink
SpaceX has completely revolutionised space travel. Before he came along, the idea of a reusable rocket had been relegated to the furthest reaches of fantasy. He has managed to drastically reduce the price of rocket launches and they're now going up several times a month. Lowering the cost so much has brought satellite technology and space travel in reach of many companies and potential companies who couldn't have considered it before; this will open the door to asteroid mining, more competition in the satellite market and even possibly space solar arrays. The first would provide us with the rare materials necessary for batteries, phones etc that are currently being mined on earth at huge environmental, geopolitical and human cost. The second would mean lower prices and better service from providers of sat navs, weather reports, tv stations, communications etc. And internet - see Starlink, above. The third would potentially provide unlimited energy.
Tesla single-handedly created the electric car market. We need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels because both mining them and using them causes extreme environmental damage, plus they will run out at some point so it's vital we have already moved to plan b when that happens. And they too obviously cause significant geopolitical tension. Once the automation really works flawlessly, that will make roads far safer, and allow people independence who would otherwise be unable to get about much. They are also working on robots which will help with household chores and in caring or medical settings, which is very much needed as we obviously have something of a care crisis which is only expected to increase.
So quite a lot of lives really, with very many more to come... If you want to judge him by his actions rather than his words you'd be worshipping the ground he walked on!
