I don't dismiss the idea of agents provocateurs, but if there are some they are not on the frontline of the riots or in government offices. They are in a room somewhere in another country, tapping out hate on a keyboard.

I'm so upset and angry about it that I want to do something, like the counter protesters in Liverpool. Form a protective ring around a mosque or something. I want to counteract the evil.
It's visibly male violence. It would be nice if women could unite and rise up against it. Sadly from what I've seen on social media there are plenty of women who agree with them wholeheartedly.

There seems to be some female counter protestors in Liverpool. I'd think more women are in sympathy with Pat than otherwise.

Yes the copycat thing is a problem. There was a point during the 2011 riots where it became clear to me that the news had suddenly stopped. It was around 10/11 pm and I was getting reports from colleagues all over London whose high roads were being smashed up - but the reporting suddenly stopped. They fixed on Clapham and stayed there after it calmed.

Even LBC, which was predominantly a London station at that time, was no longer taking calls from people who could tell you where to avoid going. I then realised that this was a policy in order to stop copycat rioting.

Obviously now social media is more in use, the copycats have greater access to information about where to go next. and they will use media where the messages disappear immediately in order to lead the group onto the next specific locality.

I nearly posted on a different thread about this, yours in fact @MistressoftheDarkSide - to say the level of orchestration here is extremely high. The organisers have been waiting to unleash this for some time. And much as the London riots were terrifying, this looks worse.

Twitter is riddled with people with pics and blue ticks encouraging it. Not people we know. People whose accounts have been up a few months. Likely not even real people. All posting in sympathy for the thugs.

Agreed. We do have homegrown useful idiots for any agencies that think destabilisation on a mass scale could be helpful to any number of agendas. It just takes the right catalyst and voila.... The potential scale of this over the weekend is what's giving me hinky vibes.

Outbreaks like this have happened before, yes, but usually it's confined to a few localised areas and dies down pretty quickly. The toxic ingredients of this looked at as a whole are so volatile. It's almost as though we have had fascist sleeper cells just biding their time. It is so beyond the comprehension of most people that a tragedy so horrendous and so personal could be used in this way, it's sickening.

But while there are a good proportion of knuckledraggers on the ground, it's dangerous to assume a complete lack of intelligence in the background. Most psychopaths are dangerously intelligent after all.

they don't actually know, they know that they hate "forrin" people and "mooslims" and they love getting pissed up, snorting coke and fighting. Seen a couple of them interviewed and they made the average chimp sound like an orator

Reminds me of the "protests" when the Iraq war started, protestors in my town chanted "stop the war, kill the Iraqis"
