Just to get it out of the way - I am completely against Trump being elected President. I'm pretty excited to see Kamala being officially nominated, and looking forward to her fighting a strong campaign - albeit slightly nervously. Anyone else?

I'm fairly left-wing, but an institutionalist, and I believed during his first term that our institutions would hold strong - I certainly thought The Atlantic was being overly alarmist about the fake electors plan. I no longer have that confidence.

I think when a young woman has a relationship with a much much older rich and influential man it’s a reasonable assumption she’s using her sexual wiles to get something out of the situation.

She IS a diversity hire. Literally. Biden was quite open about having got her on board as his VP because she’s black/asian/female.

I think you focus a bit too much on their personal characteristics and who is the better/ nicer person. For voters, it is often just a case of whether they and their families felt better off (in terms of finances and safety) under the Trump administration or the Biden/Harris administration and for many people they felt better off under the Trump administration. They are not voting for who they want to go and have a beer with.

Come on. We all know why Biden selected Kamala, just as we all know why Kamala will almost certainly select a white male as her running mate. This is how it works.
