Aibu to have not left DC in private schools. I aibu to have moved them back to state when I caught wind of the VAT to have been added on.

Aibu to now not be funding the additional needed state school teachers?

Have you had a few drinks in the sun?! Can’t make head nor tail of this sorry op.

Izzymoon · 01/08/2024 18:14

Yawn.

AGodawfulsmallaffair · 01/08/2024 18:15

Give the school a nice big donation then.

Laserwho · 01/08/2024 18:15

Can you say that again in English please?

SonicTheHodgeheg · 01/08/2024 18:15

You can change your child’s school for whatever reasons you want. You can send your kids to a state school even if you can afford private.

Yabu for yet another thread on this

Hoppinggreen · 01/08/2024 18:16

you what now?
If you are babbling about VAT on Private school fees I would rather not pay it but given that I have no choice if I want my child to stay at his school then I really hope the money raised goes directly to help better resource State schools.

Topseyt123 · 01/08/2024 18:16

You don't make much sense.

User79853257976 · 01/08/2024 18:16

Sign yourself up for private school - can’t understand what you’ve written!

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 01/08/2024 18:17

Your post is incoherent but if you're asking whether you are unreasonable to move your children to a state school, of course you aren't. Assuming that you're resident in this country, they are entitled to a place and I'm sure that they will settle in to their new school very soon.

summerdazey · 01/08/2024 18:17

It's your money. Your kids. Just do what you want

Sneezein3 · 01/08/2024 18:17

I think your DD will be fine as long as you don’t decide to Home School - you OP makes no sense.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 01/08/2024 18:19

Hmm Nobody cares which school you send your dc to. Don't worry though, you'll still be contributing to state schools through your usual taxes. If you're moving your dc out of some bizarre desire to deliberately spite state schools (which will be educating your children), then I'm afraid you've totally lost the plot.

Ponderingwindow · 01/08/2024 18:20

You should be prioritizing your child(ren)’s education. The best school for your child and your family is highly personal.

if you are sacrificing your child’s education or stability for ideology, then you are doing something wrong.

BreadInCaptivity · 01/08/2024 18:21

You are perfectly entitled to choose how your children are educated and a consideration of that being what you can afford.

Just like every other parent....

Making out you were doing some public service by choosing private education is silly assertion and one that, if you were honest with yourself was never a factor when you decided to pay for their education.

Honestly posts like yours do more damage to the argument against the VAT implementation than in supporting it.

Beth216 · 01/08/2024 18:31

Ah so you sent your kids to private school to save state schools. What a saint you are. Most people send their kids to private school because of all the advantages it buys them. You probably weren't even aware of that though.

I think it would be a real shame if you've taken your kids out of their school just to make some sort of point OP.

Stompythedinosaur · 01/08/2024 18:33

It doesn't effect anyone else.

It seems like you're saying that sending your dc private is some sort of altruistic act - it really isn't, and no one sees it that way.

x2boys · 01/08/2024 18:37

Nobody Cares🙄

iamtheblcksheep · 01/08/2024 18:38

AGodawfulsmallaffair · 01/08/2024 18:15

Give the school a nice big donation then.

Don’t do this. This government is a shit show on a one way ticket to hell. Let them reap what they sow. I would spend your time making sure your assets are well protected and not touchable by any upcoming capital gains and inheritance tax changes.

Couldyounot · 01/08/2024 18:39

Again with this, is it?

MyNameIsFine · 01/08/2024 18:41

I assume this is a response to the poster on another thread who was so shocked and outraged that someone changed their mind and chose state to avoid the tax even though they could afford it? No, of course YANBU. It's your money. You don't have to spend it on anything you don't want to.

fortheveryfirsttime · 01/08/2024 18:42

More absolutely pointless wanging on about fucking VAT. It's so boring.

Most of us have more urgent issues than fucking private schools.

Begsthequestion · 01/08/2024 18:45

I think you have main character syndrome, you might wanna get that checked out op.

We welcome you to the state school system. We have plenty of space and I’m sure you will enhance any state school you are involved with…
