Aibu to have not left DC in private schools. I aibu to have moved them back to state when I caught wind of the VAT to have been added on.

Aibu to now not be funding the additional needed state school teachers?

Yawn! Yet another repetitive thread!
As long as you don’t home school (because judging by your post you’re illiterate and frankly, ignorant) I don’t think anyone cares what you choose to do. 🤔🤷‍♀️

State school is actually proving better.

For the mere days they’ve been in the state school system?

gamerchick · 01/08/2024 20:09

Nobody cares OP. I think the tantrums are hilarious.

I think she means she moved them last year, when it was clear what way the wind was blowing. She's braver than me! I'm glad it's worked out for her.

I know! It's so endlessly amusing. I get what the class war guys were on about now. The entertainment is top notch. Every day they come on with their titchy tiny violins being sad that their kids might have to mix with the 90%.

Odearr · 01/08/2024 20:13

You're obviously not that concerned for state schools if you're sending your dc to one.

Nobody else aside from you and presumably their father cares where your children go to school .

I'm a single parent.

Strange to care so much about your children’s education that the only answer is to pay for private education and then to roll the dice and remove them before even an election result let alone policy confirmation.

Cherrysoup · 01/08/2024 20:39

Mate, that’s not how state school salaries work.

Ok, you got me, it wasn't the main reason they were moved. Just an added bonus.

Paying more doesn't always ensure better.

You can give a donation I’m sure, if you so wish, to the school not the teachers. If that’s what you were talking about, it was difficult to understand what you meant. You can’t pay a state school teacher’s wages no, they’re paid by the state.

I thought labour were quoting in the news how many additional state school teachers the private school vat will fund?

So if that part isn’t true what’s the point in your thread considering the VAT criticism dominates your OP?

They’re paid from the pot, not directly. The government were talking about there being more money in the pot to pay teachers.

I still don’t get your point. They estimate that’s how much money they’ll get and estimate how many teachers that amount of money would pay. You know these teachers need to be trained, employed and so on, it’s not a direct swap ffs.

Oh...I thought they meant it would happen? 🤔

Miyagi99 · 01/08/2024 20:54

@123HappyMee Hopefully it will but it won’t be instantaneous! That’s not how government funding works.

123HappyMee · 01/08/2024 20:55

Oh, so the money could go elsewhere?

OP posts:
Everysand · 01/08/2024 20:56

I thought it worked out about half a teacher per school, t will take a lot more than just that to improve our local school

ThinWomansBrain · 01/08/2024 20:57

Your children may end up being able to write a coherent sentence; EVEN if they go to state school.

LostittoBostik · 01/08/2024 20:59

Can follow this but if you're saying did you do the right thing to move them out of private... I've no idea, I don't know your children, your financial circs, how they were doing in school etc.

But state school is fine and they will do well if they focus.
