on holiday at the mo and I cant even count the number of times I have seen topless women sunbathing at the beach… next to kids!…on non-nudist beach!

I really don’t want to see titties out in the middle of the day

on top of that I don’t fancy my teenage boys or even my DH having a look at them either

its obvious they’re coming from certain European countries ! Do they have no sense of what’s right or wrong ?

Having been on a beach (in Europe obvs) recently with 3 kids, we had to stop the 7 year old from gawping in amazement at the woman with her boobs out. Not because her tits were out, I don’t think he even noticed, but because of her (incredible!) marvel superhero tattoos. Thankfully she found it hilarious 😬

If the 5 year old noticed, she didn’t even bat an eyelid. Because they’re just boobs. No big deal. She didn’t give a shit about the nude mans arse either.

They just have a different sense of ‘right and wrong’ to you. British cultural norms aren’t universal.

People from other countries may object to you uncovering your hair, nevermind appearing in a swimsuit in public.

If it makes you feel any better, working and living in Germany, I saw many people from school and work fully naked in contexts like beach or sauna. I chose to live there, I didn’t force my rules upon them.

Are you familiar with the concept of non-sexual nudity? Tits are such a big deal in Britain precisely because people are so uptight about nudity. 50% of people have them, they don’t need to be sexualised every day of our lives.

I remember going to Spain with my parents in 1980 and it was common to see people topless on the beach then. Have you been living under a rock?

It's not something I would do as I'm quite conservative and body-shy personally, but I couldn't give a fuck what other people do.I'm there to enjoy a day at the beach,not police other women's outfits.

I live in a very hot country where this is quite common depending on the beach, my two sons do giggle a bit which I am trying to stamp out as I don't want to hurt or embarrass anyone having a nice relaxing day.

Wouldn't want to see a hairy ballsack though,so praps you could say that's double standards..

What the hell are you on about OP? It is completely normal to sunbath topless on loads of beaches. We used to go to France when I was a teen (1980s) and the only time me and my mum put a top on was when we left the beach.
I think sunbathing topless is seen less on beaches now but I put that down to increased awareness about skin cancer.

I've been topless or naked on beaches all over the world. Not anymore though as my children would die of shame now 😂

Topless women are an equivalent of topless men. Many men are not shy of having their moobs on display the minute the sun peeks out from behind a cloud, and what's more walk around in the street like that. These women are lying down on a beach.

The sight of a few breasts isn't going to traumatise your children, OP. You can relax.

I wouldn't host a play date topless, or wearing a bikini or swimsuit, or turn up at work bare foot, or wear shorts to church... but it's a beach and all of those options are fine for a beach!

Maybe best to stick to Great Yarmouth for your next holiday
