Got sent worrying WhatsApp message

I don’t know why I feel weirded out, but today I got a message on WhatsApp from an ex colleague, the message was a 2 minute long blank video where there was just a bunch of noise. Followed by a message that just said “p#*”

I haven’t had a message from this person in nearly 2 years, what should I make of this?

Am I overthinking?

Yes

Not on WhatsApp but tiktok. I send PM's to people somehow. Sometimes saved videos pictures screenshots or gibberish. I've definitely not intended to send them. I don't use the PM. So I don't know if it's been sent unless they PM me back asking WTF is that.😂😂😂

Either pocket dialed or it's been in possession of a young child.

They've possibly been hacked/spammed. I'd delete it incase it contains a virus.

If it contains a virus, it's now infecting OP's phone because she's watched the video.

A video containing a virus that you only get if you watch it? Don’t think that’s how it works.

I left my phone in bed rolled on it and send Facebook live a video of me where all u hear is my awful
Grunting snoring . Coulda been worse 😜

JollyHelper · 29/07/2024 09:35

I don't see what's worrying about it?

It's obviously a mistake or a possible spamming/hacking situation.

No BT that you get if you open the message.

There's plenty of advice not to open suspect attachments or click on dodgy links!
