Sickening behaviour. Surely tasering the man is enough.
He is on the floor tasered so you give him some kickings to the head?

Hope this is properly investigated.
Greater Manchester Police have an awful reputation.

He wasn’t cuffed!

Oh right, then yeah I would have definitely kicked him in the head. Police officer probably didn’t know if he was going to get another punch to the head or if the guy was going to get back up off floor and charge at one of them.

Those guys went batshit and had already thrown a lot of punches. More I think about it more I hope the police officer is cleared and I’m not a fan of police brutality, it doesn’t make me happy. That was utter fucking chaos.

@AllThePotatoesAreSinging projecting what?

What you think people would or should feel feel in a similar situation. You don’t know that he lost his temper but you’ve made the assumption he did. He might have, he might have thought the guy was going to get back up, for all he knows there’s another punch coming. I’ve been in a situation with that level of chaos, without the training the police have, and it’s very disorienting.
That level of violence was unhinged.

So what? The police's standards are supposed to be way above those of the people they are arresting.

Mean while on the real world after you have been attacked by a violent horrible piece of shit.

which community are you referring to?
asians?
Muslims?
people from the north?

rosiers · 27/07/2024 22:52

@Tattletwat "Whilst I agree on that point the community these men are from are guilty of exactly the same."

What community are you referring to?

FairisleFairy · 27/07/2024 22:52

And those two had the extraordinary audacity to sit there with their best tabloid sad faces with their Tik Tok lawyer! I wonder if they’d told him the full story.
What does their “community” think about them now I wonder. Do they still think it’s worth demonstrating on their behalf having seen more of the footage?
No wonder their brother (apparently in the force) doesn’t want to do go to work….it’s not because he’s scared as was claimed!

FineFettler · 27/07/2024 22:46

Their standards are higher. That's why they're doing everything they can to stop this from escalating into an altercation where firearms are used (by anyone).

It's a miracle no one was more seriously injured.

Northernnature · 27/07/2024 22:56

I am not a big fan of the police but have sympathy with them. Apparently this footage was leaked by a whistle blower not presented by the authorities. And why do they always throw their officers under the bus? I would love the police to go on strike and let the mps who grandstand all the time deal with these scumbags.

@Tattletwat "Whilst I agree on that point the community these men are from are guilty of exactly the same."

The community protesting outside Rochdale police station perhaps?

FairisleFairy · 27/07/2024 22:58

People are still repeating this falsehood that the officer stamped on his head. From the footage, it looks much more like he stamped the floor next to his head.
I don’t know why the stamping keeps being referred to as though it’s an indisputable fact.

The kick in the head was clear - the stamping is not.

Ilovetowander · 27/07/2024 23:00

The most recent video certainly explains why the police officer was so enraged. This incident was not caused or due to race it started due to thuggery and aggression.

Reinstate the officer immeidately, please.

Reinstate the officer immeidately, please.

I completely agree.

Could you imagine having to face this level of violence in your employment? How traumatic for the officers involved.

FairisleFairy · 27/07/2024 23:04

MeouwCat · 27/07/2024 22:59

Yes this is what the last couple of pages of comments are in relation to

TheThingIsYeah · 27/07/2024 23:04

@cakeorwine

I don't understand why the police approached the suspects the way they did - and why did it get to a headlock so quickly.

That's a fair point.

We've all been become privy to extended CCTV footage but we've not seen the full interaction. There's clearly something serious that has occured immediately prior to this that's surely a further nail in the coffin to the "feds was being racist innit" claim.

rosiers · 27/07/2024 23:07

@GabriellaMontez you think that the "community" of people protesting outside Rochdale police station are "full of ill disciplined thugs as evidenced by repeated cases of disgusting misogyny, racism, homophobia and criminal violence"? What would lead you to that conclusion?

JacquesHarlow · 27/07/2024 23:09

Ilovetowander · 27/07/2024 23:00

I have said this since page 1 of this thread, I don’t believe the office is enraged. This is attribution.

all of you stating he is out of control are missing the point. I don’t believe he is out of control or enraged.

The suspect is looking to get back up, immediately prior to this, he and his accomplices have been beating the police officers, breaking a female officer’s nose proper to the Tasering. The officers are outnumbered.

Have you ever had to subdue someone without a gun? The Taser does not magically send them to sleep in a second.

Part of subduing a suspect is making sure they don’t get up and grab your gun, or break another officer’s nose, or use their numerical advantage to outnumber you and stamp on you and kill you

All you armchair officers are terrifying, I am glad none of you are responsible for our safety in the UK.

Tattletwat · 27/07/2024 23:12

GabriellaMontez · 27/07/2024 22:57

The community protesting outside Rochdale police station perhaps?

Exactly, yes thugs and scum who operate in Rochdale who thinks they are above the law, that sort of community.

MeouwCat · 27/07/2024 23:15

53 percent of Mumsneters, time to hang your heads in shame.

rosiers · 27/07/2024 23:16

There's a lot to disagree on, but perhaps we could all agree on the suggestion that this could have been handled better? Three armed officers should be able to arrest two violent perpetrators without it escalating to these extremes.

Ilovetowander · 27/07/2024 23:18

@JacquesHarlow
Fair point if the suspects were attempting to continue violence and their aggression then yes the officer would attempt to stop them

Who are you saying escalated it?

The violent men punching repeatedly in the video?

Can you imagine being faced with that? I find it shocking and lucky that police turn up and get that in response just for doing a job
