Seen wonderful karma at work today

In London at the moment. Went to the Tower of London today, sat outside and as usual loads of pigeons.

2 lots of parents sat there laughing and filming their little darlings chase and kick out at the pigeons. One of the boys made contact with one. Just as I was about to open my month to have a go at the parents another pigeon flew over the dad’s head and did the most perfectly aimed shit that landed right on his bald head.

dad then stands up shouting dirty bastards and then realised quite a few people were laughing including myself and my lot. I was creased up. He and his family very quickly leave. The most funny thing was it was down to his own that the pigeons were flying all over in panic

Beautful Karma. Can anyone beat this with their own experience of Karma at work

My 2nd cousin was always very self absorbed and selfish. She had an affair with her boss and was defiant about it, bragged that she was so much better than his wife blah blah blah.

A year later he left his wife and married my cousin. She gave up work after they got married and he promptly started an affair with another woman at work. They are now divorced.

When a man marries mistress it just creates a vacancy.

@EvangelicalAboutButteredToast

Well do your kids behave like in the various examples here?
Which would be disgusting behaviour, in which case they are disgusting.

I don't think that's entirely fair: the kids themselves may not be actually disgusting, it's the behaviour that is disgusting. I know it's a quibble, but it seems to me important: when telling off my own children I tried to be careful to make it plain that it was not them I was angry with or disliked, it was how they had behaved. A bit like the woman who said to a daughter that she loved her, she just didn't like her very much at the moment. (I forget what the daughter had done: something nasty, like for instance trying to kick a pigeon.)

My worry is that I don't know whether for example Robert Thompson and Jon Venables started out tormenting birds unchecked, went on to tying tin cans to the tails of cats and never being told off for it, and ended up ... well, we know what they did before they were stopped.

Some people have children that will chase pigeons regardless of their instruction not to. Often those parents are thoroughly ground down by their own children’s poor behaviour and the absolute last thing they need is strangers shouting at them publicly.

The same parents are making decisions not to take their children places in the summer holidays as they can’t bare the judgement that comes from those random strangers.

Diddums, poor parents, let's have a whip round for them!

Maybe if they had made a better job when their sprogs were small they wouldn't now have parents who are 'ground down by their own children's poor behaviour'. If they are glad to sit back and let their sprogs misbehave then perhaps it needs random strangers to do their job for them though I would guarantee that they, the parents, wouldn't be happy.

"My little Maudie wouldn't do that!"

"Madam, I have the video."

Im waiting for my bingo sheet to be entirely full before I shout house. I think the only thing Im missing now is for myself or my kids to be called ‘disgusting’.

@EvangelicalAboutButteredToast
Your lack of self awareness is eye watering. Do yourself a favour, step away from the keyboard and for the sake of your children spend some time reflecting on how you are parenting rather than fighting an argument you must, at some level, realise you lost as soon you made your initial post.

HowIrresponsible · 25/07/2024 17:13

It isn't just children. My office is opposite a very famous landmark in London and I get to see adults tormenting pigeons all the time.

In once case a complete arsehole with a buggy ramming it at pigeons for no reason. I said to him leave them alone, they're not bothering you.

I say it to anyone who does it.

The shit is awesome 👌

I can't claim to be entirely altruistic. The university I work at has a bit of a seagull problem, to the extent that we've got signs up warning about them nicking food out of your hand. I thought having my own personal army of crows might act as a deterrent! Thus far it has not.

We did have a bit of a ropey moment a few weeks in where I gave them a salt and vinegar Disco. I think they thought I'd poisoned them, and they were very wary of me for the next week!

😁

I have a family of crows that I've befriended in work. Every lunch time they get one of my crisps (Not each, they get one between them and Boss Crow decides who owns it).

I've been wondering just how much they recognise me, or whether they're this friendly with everyone who sits near them with food.

Anyway, two days ago I'm sat on my usual bench eating my lunch. They've already had their daily crisp so they've dispersed a bit, when a family with a small child comes near, and the kid starts running towards the crows, roaring.

Next thing I know I've got 5 crows all huddled around my feet and under my bench. I was well chuffed to realise that they see me as one of their own.

Love this. The crow whisperer!

Bird egg hunting is, imho, slightly different to abusing animals and Tom renting them

egg hunting is done by bat shit crazed collectors who know a lot about birds, too much sometimes, and would never run around chasing them as they know it’ll give their game away. They are criminals. Impacting bird populations. But not in same kettle of fish that allow their kids to stress out birds by chasing them. They’re probably last ones to harm a live and hatched bird as that’s their future source of eggs.

closer to those care less parents are the many cases of gamekeepers who lay poison and traps to kill birds of prey. Criminals agian. But still happening in huge numbers. Their mindset is probably more like the parents who don’t give a shit for birds being stressed or harmed.

minor point,

If only. They take the entire clutch and are perfectly happy if there aren't any more eggs, because it's more important to them to have the last egg than it is for the species to survive.

HectorPlasm · 25/07/2024 17:42

The only karma I have seen was on the dual carriageway road into Peterborough. Some gimp in a soft top BMW very aggressively tailgated me all the way in. I pulled over to the left so he shot off, clipped a lorry and ended up upside down on the middle of the roundabout. I gave him a huge shit eating grin as he chambered out and I drove past.

So do we 🤷🏼‍♀️

some people carry a baggie of unsalted unshelled peanuts to pass out to lunchtime crow friends...we don't have crows in my area so I'm jealous of you enjoying workday lunches with them AND am so proud of you for being the human they ran to for protection!

Pretty sure this means you're a disney princess, here's your crown 👑 wear it with pride

CrapIngsoc · 25/07/2024 18:10

Well deserved 🤣

I had my kids out a few days ago at a local loch. There was loads of geese on the grass, gathered together. My kids were talking about them and showing loads of interest. My 5yo DS asks if he can chase them, I tell him no to just leave them alone etc. In comes 2 boys of around 10, who immediately start shouting and screaming while running straight into the group of geese, making them scatter and fly away. Their mums were standing talking and laughing at them doing it. Their faces could barely move and their lips stuck out inches from their faces.

My kids started asking why did those children do that, why were they not being nice to the birds etc. I told them (loudly enough for the mums to hear) that such behaviour is learned from their parents and some obviously don’t care to tell their children to be kind to animals.

I honestly hate when parents don’t teach their children to respect any animals.

Yeah. We saw one eat a squirrel once...

I was once in a hot tub with a bunch of people including the most insufferable obnoxious yank. We weren't supposed to have glass near the pool for obvious reasons but he had one and after wittering absolute gobshitery including his stupid opinion on women he got out knocked his glass over and promptly fell onto the shards. Never seen karma across so quickly or so satisfyingly.

😃

Yourdemonsyourproblem · 25/07/2024 18:14

Absolutely LOL
just because you believe an animal which has a right to be on earth is "vermin" doesn't mean your children or dog get to bully them.
I don't particularly like pigeons but scaring them for no reason is nasty

One of my aunts, a horrible nasty woman. She’s not much older than me and my siblings, she was visiting us for the summer holidays, it was back in the day when kids disappeared for the day and only came home in time for tea. We were cutting through a farmers field to head home when my aunt decided to torment some cows, even kicking them. She decided to try and climb on one that was sat down. The cow got up so fast and threw her off, she landed in a massive pile of cow shit 😂

lol 🤣

My friend is a warden at a local nature reserve and is on the verge of leaving due to the behaviour of the public. Bringing dogs on site and letting them run amok in areas with ground nesting birds, kids terrorising the wildlife and just general entitled and abusive twattery. I gave a bollocking to some kid at a national trust place the other day who was relentlessly chasing an absolutely terrified goose. Mum wasn't happy but tough shit!

Wtf is wrong with people?!

outdamnedspots · 25/07/2024 18:21

Crackwillow · 25/07/2024 12:42

Yuk, pigeons are vermin. They are not so scared of small children chasing them, they flap about a bit and then land in the exact spot. Their fouling is disgusting on buildings/rail stations—disease spreaders.

Doesn't mean you can abuse them.

StaunchMomma · 25/07/2024 18:23

Sometimes it's not even tiny kids. I saw an at least 8 year old running at some ducks and swinging his leg as hard as he could to try and kick one like a football.

Parents weren't watching but luckily heard me say 'If that little bastard kicks a duck!..' and ran to grab him.

Vile little shit.

Vermin is just a definition I believe that if you take a grey squirrel to a rescue centre for treatment they're not allowed to be released as they're not native.

I live on a cliff and there are cattle, sheep and ponies roaming freely.

When the ponies have foals, the idiot tourists try to pet them and have their photos taken with them which results in some ponies feeling scared and they will run over the cliff edge resulting in a horrible death.

Even with signs, people don't care.
