Seen wonderful karma at work today

In London at the moment. Went to the Tower of London today, sat outside and as usual loads of pigeons.

2 lots of parents sat there laughing and filming their little darlings chase and kick out at the pigeons. One of the boys made contact with one. Just as I was about to open my month to have a go at the parents another pigeon flew over the dad’s head and did the most perfectly aimed shit that landed right on his bald head.

dad then stands up shouting dirty bastards and then realised quite a few people were laughing including myself and my lot. I was creased up. He and his family very quickly leave. The most funny thing was it was down to his own that the pigeons were flying all over in panic

Beautful Karma. Can anyone beat this with their own experience of Karma at work

Well done Karma, I absolutely hate when kids try to kick pigeons and can't understand why parents find that funny.

Not karma, but the other day I was in the park, walking my small dog on the lead, and there was a bunch of boys, aged something like 11-13 (let's say old enough to be in the park without their parents) who stood in the middle of the path.

One of them decided to scare and to bark at my dog, who naturally barked back and growled (not the bare teeth kind of growl, just the low growl of a scared dog), I pretended to unleash my dog and asked the boy if he wanted to have a word with him.

The boy ran away like I was suddenly walking a grizzly bear. His mates laughed at him and I asked them to never do that again, that it was very dangerous to deliberately scare a dog, even a small one can hurt them. I was livid but somehow managed to stay relatively calm.

After that I felt I definitely entered middle-age territory (I had never never told off kids before)

I went on a country walk with the in laws. My MIL is very critical of me and is not afriaid tell me my faults, but always out of earshot of my husband.

She was telling me my footwear (trainers) was no good and I should purchase an expensive pair of walking shoes like the rest of the family. About 2 minutes her trusty shoes failed her as she slipped over and slid about 10 metres down a hill. Covered in mud. I had a chuckle. My trainers didn’t let me down

I remember that thread! Did the OP ever start another thread with the outcome?

lovenotwar149 · 25/07/2024 18:33

Karma at work for sure!! Nice story!

echidna1 · 25/07/2024 18:36

I was going to a training day at a hotel, was about to pull into a narrow entrance leading to the hotel carpark but overshot so needed to reverse back a bit.

White van man was speeding and was right up my rear, beeping his horn.

As I got out of my car (I wanted to ask him if he would please reverse back a little so I could pull in) a small lorry pulled up behind him then joy oh joy a police car pulled up behind the lorry - which he couldn't see.

He wound his window down and was shouting all sorts of obscenities, & his passenger mate joined in - just as the police approached. When he drew breath, I said in a loud voice 'I was only going to ask if you would reverse back a bit so I can pull into the car park. You are both very rude!'

The police were then either side of their windows and said, 'We suggest you do as the lady has asked, then we will be having a word with you both.......'

Karma!!

Since becoming mum to chickens I appreciate birds..thank you...the pigeons knew...I hope they telling this tale to their friends and family

greengreyblue · 25/07/2024 18:42

Still see parents feeding ducks with white sliced bread.🤦🏼‍♀️

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 25/07/2024 18:47

It’s so often cars….I used to drive the same route on a very narrow country lane every day. When I came to the corner, I slowed right down, but the car behind who had been glued to my bumper for ten minutes availed himself of the extra space to shoot past while giving me the finger.

I don’t know how long it took them to get his car out of the hay bales which he had knocked off the lorry… the lorry which always came out of the side road around that time in the morning during harvest.

Wait ... there are pelicans in St James's Park?? Well, I'm going to have to go and visit them now, I love this!

Just to bring this full circle, I have seen one of those pelicans swallow a pigeon....I was a bit gobsmacked, as was the pigeon.

Zanatdy · 25/07/2024 19:27

Haha serves them right. I told off 2 teen girls last week in St James Park who were chasing a goose whilst mum filmed. I was getting annoyed them one threw her jumped at the goose so I shouted leave that goose alone. And they did. Mum didn’t say a word. My teen DD was a mix of proud and mortified (she’s so shy!)

LaughingElderberry · 25/07/2024 19:35

A few weeks back, driving to see a friend on a Sunday morning, lovely weather, roads were quiet and it's a nice countryside route. NSL road with a Honda in front pootling along at 40, an Audi behind them and then me. On the straight sections with good overtaking visibility, there was traffic coming the other way.

Audi was tailgating and going batshit when they couldn't overtake. We come to a village where the limit dropped to 40, but there was a straight stretch of road with no traffic coming the other way. The Audi goes roaring off at high speed straight past a mobile camera van which he hadn't seen.

I don't think that is exactly deliberate cruelty. Not quite the same as purposely kicking them.

Nichebitch · 25/07/2024 19:40

I don’t condone treating animals badly, but I’m shocked to see how many posters think is acceptable to talk to other people’s children. If you have an issue, talk to the parent!!

Ewock · 25/07/2024 19:42

I'm still trying to work out the link of karma against hurting animals, and everthing you've been spouting.
You're making out you're the victim, when you tried to defend kids hurting animals. Very strange.

wizzywig · 25/07/2024 19:46

The pigeons in my garden just keep on having sex .

Yousaidwhatagain · 25/07/2024 19:48

Saw a big oafy child in the playground acting feral, pushing over little ones, running the wrong way up the slide and making the toddlers scared, etc.
Far too old to be there and someone told him off but he came back. Threw sand in the kids face too. Then climbed up the slide again and fell and bust his lip, ran away crying finally.

@Nichebitch

Some of us aren't British, and there are different cultural mores re this around Europe/ the rest of the world.

Years ago I worked with someone who had a hobby that was something to do with releasing grouse (maybe?) for the shoot in Northumberland where I worked. I'm vegetarian, which said person thought was "stupid" and I'm not a fan of anyone who enjoys shooting animals for fun. One weekend he was on the shoot, another shooter shot a pheasant and it fell out of the sky smack bang into colleagues face and broke his nose. Even he could see the irony and told me as he "thought I'd enjoy the story" - I did enjoy it very much, karma!

What a good sport for telling you. That made me laugh.

Well, I'm British and I'd have no issue telling off kids who're acting like brats, @Nichebitch
If the parents want to get in first, they can be my guest. What's so shocking?

The OP was about to talk to the parents.
But in some other cases, the parent wasn't nearby. Surely you wouldn't leave an animal or bird being hurt while you found them? What about if the kid is hurting another child?

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 25/07/2024 13:00

Again slow hand clap to you getting it right whereas other scumbags like myself just fuck it up right, left and centre.

I can see where you're coming from but I would gently ask, do you at least intervene if/when your child does things like this?

I have an ND child and she can be a bit rough with our cat so I'm constantly supervising, intervening, redirecting and modelling to her how we actually treat our pets.

These things take time for some children and I agree, some people can be quite judgy, but I've found people tend to not be so hostile if they can see we are at least doing something about it.

Ugh please ask her to stop!

I have tried but she is determined. I wish she would feed them contraceptives and reduce the numbers

The only karma I have seen was on the dual carriageway road into Peterborough. Some gimp in a soft top BMW very aggressively tailgated me all the way in. I pulled over to the left so he shot off, clipped a lorry and ended up upside down on the middle of the roundabout. I gave him a huge shit eating grin as he chambered out and I drove past.

Clambered! Bloody keyboard!

I've currently got that in my garden. They've been at it most days now. They do lots of kissing and nibbling first though.😄
