Husband thinks boob job using inheritance is dumb

I received a small inheritance from my grandmother. Dh and I have agreed a couple things it will go on ( mutually beneficial). With the remainder I said I will look into getting a breast lift. Dh has stated how much a waste he thinks this is but equally said it’s your money.

For context, I like my boobs but ONLY when they are in a bra (so that’s why dh considers it a waste). I’m 130 pounds but wear a 32 e. I just hate the way they hang. But it is easily solved by wearing bras. So I do kind of see the point. With the size of my boobs it’s not like I could wear a tight top and go braless. That’s not the goal.

I’m 31 and just want to love my entire body I guess. DH suggested I go to Turkey but I would rather stick to a UK surgeon.

We are not in debt and own our house. Of course there are loads of things that the money could go on.

Is it silly? I guess I am concerned my judgement is clouded and I am being controlled to a certain extent by an insecurity.

I'm 30 and have GG cups, if I come in to money I will be having a reduction and lift. They are the BAIN of my life.

Any nice top I wear is ruined by them, in the summer I am so uncomfortable. I'd love to wear a non wired bra but they just do not hold them up.

So get them done if you want them too! But make sure you do them in this country.

to everyone saying wait till you older, they already look pretty saggy. Genuinely similar to what I have indicated in image attached. And they’ve pretty much looked like this since early 20s

Edited

That's just larger breasts. That's how they are. They have more weight so hang lower.

I’ve heard they’ll secretly remove a kidney while carrying out boob jobs in Turkey. Be very careful.

Not all places but it does happen.

An E cup is pretty big. It would cause neck and back pain. I would go for the surgery but not in Turkey. Be aware it will take years for your scars to lighten and until tgrn you will look like a patchwork quilt.

A 32 E isn't particularly big. Unlikely to cause pain unless wearing wrong bra or have a very weak back.

PermanentlyFullLaundryBasket · 19/07/2024 14:54

Your body, your choice. That said, I agree with your H. I am not a fan of cosmetic surgery - what if you are not satisfied with the results for any reason? Wouldn't the money be better spent on therapy to get over your insecurities about your body? It is boobs now, but maybe after surgery, it would then be bum, or hips etc. Learning to love your body as it is would be far more powerful.

Said as a120lb 30E in my 50s, after 2 kids, who always wear bras but I spend more on them so that they are properly fitted and comfortable.

I’m also a GG cup. I completely relate.

Greenlittecat · 19/07/2024 14:55

If it makes you happy then go for it!

My boobs look like the picture if I'm not wearing a supportive bra but I don't really care 😅

Tillievanilly · 19/07/2024 14:56

It’s your money. Your boobs are obviously quite big and if they’re that bad I’d consider it. I would pay for Invisalign and laser hair removal so I don’t see it’s that different. I am anti operations unless necessary after a bad experience but it’s completely up to you.

How exactly are they secretly removing a kidney while doing a boob job? That is one of THE most bat shit things I have read on here in nearly 20 years of reading bat shit on MN!

I do think I have weak core muscles. I go to the gym regularly but have only ever really cared about cardio. My recent-ish attempts at planks, squats and similar exercises have shown I really need to build strength.

If you are standing up you don't have weak core muscles.

Ir doesn't matter about the size of your breasts I'm a 34k and have never had back issues. I do however have a good bra and will see the physio when I get back pain (usually from exercise). Maybe see the physio

Get to the gym and work on your back strength. Or you can self refer to physio if you are actually in pain and they can teach you how to strengthen the specific muscles you're struggling with. Uplifted breasts won't change that anyway they'll still weigh the same.

Your boobs being a E size a breast lift will be ok for a period of time, then as you get old and the weight of the boobs ,the skin will loose elasticity and drop again, if you want long term, have a reduction and lift

LlynTegid · 19/07/2024 15:08

I knew someone who went to another country for a boob job and it went badly. If you do have one, I think in this country.

TargetPractice11 · 19/07/2024 15:10

Ah do it. It will make you feel better.

Don't like the suggestion to travel for it though, that's not nearly as safe.

Definitely get a reduction as well as a lift, so they'll suit you long term.

LondonFox · 19/07/2024 15:18

Do boobs in UK.
If you want cheaper option I would suggest Croatia. Good choice of surgeons, great level of English, EU country any you can bulk it up with holiday.

And 100% do boobs if you wish so.

Uhjo · 19/07/2024 12:35

Even when I’m schlobbing around the house 9/10 I will put on a bra as I feel uncomfortable in my body.

I was like this. I had a boob job in January and it was honestly the best thing I've ever done. For the first time in forever, I'm comfortable in my own body, and don't need to wear a bra at home anymore. I think, if it's for the right reasons and not just due to vanity, it's not a waste of money as the impact it can have on your overall wellbeing can be huge. It's very much a personal thing.

Lilacapples · 19/07/2024 15:35

JanefromLondon1 · 19/07/2024 14:07

I had a lift and implants out and so you don't need implants if you had a lift. Cost about £7k and is fab to be able to wear strappy tops or nice bikinis and go braless.

You can have a reduction and lift, you'll have a scar around nipple, down front then under crease. You might not need a reduction, depending on volume of breasts. It might just be skin they take away.

If it'll make you happy do it x

Where did you have that done? I had implants 18 years ago. I’d like them out now but worried about the stretched skin so thought about a lift because at my age I don’t want more implants. I had 500cc so not small.

NotSoHotMess24 · 19/07/2024 15:38

Don't get all the negativity on here! It's not like you have children who are going without. If I had the money, there's a load of stuff I'd change - boobs, wrinkles, jowls, laser eye surgery, highlights, physio....

I think it's a bit hypocritical when people are so against cosmetic surgery, but happy to get their teeth bleached / spend loads on a haircut / wear high heels which damage your feet and back / fill their bodies with a load of toxic sweetners to lose weight. Don't see how it's different, it's just that surgery is more effective. Unless someone really doesn't do anything for their appearance, knows they have physical flaws, and genuinely doesn't care... even then, that'd be their choice and not something they should expect of others.

If you've got the money, and want to do something to improve your life, you should do it. You don't have to justify it to your husband or anyone else. And definitely don't go somewhere dodgy or inconvenient, just because it's cheap x

In the most extreme cases a number of women who have been treated in the UK after procedures in Turkey have had kidneys removed without their knowledge or consent”

Quote from an article from the Isle of Man, specifically from the Interim Director of Public Health, Dr Hugo Van Woerden.

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 19/07/2024 15:43

OP, I would do it in a heart beat. I'm a bit confused about all the terminology here. I had a reduction 20 years ago and that automatically meant they were lifted. Since then, they have got bigger, not least because I am a lot bigger, but they are still remarkably perky. Not as perky as I'd like but certainly not hugely saggy and I suspect if I could just lose the excess 2 stone, it would make a huge difference.

I think a 32 E is probably pretty big, and with the saggyness, totally reasonable to be unhappy (also, I'd put money on you actually being a bigger cup size.) I have a friend who is quite a lot smaller than that - something like a 30 D - but she has the sort of saggy breasts in your original picture and I know how it can look.

Do it locally.

Justsewsew · 19/07/2024 15:45

I'm 57 with a gg cup and would seriously think about having mine done if I came into some money. I think about when I am elderly and not wanting to wear a bra and how sore you can get under your breasts. I say go for it

You're making a lot of assumptions here that people do those other things. Although those other things don't risk life.
I think telling the op to consider other options before taking this risk is smart advice.
Do we not want to consider why women hate their normal bodies so much they are willing to harm them and risk their lives.
