Just curious...if anyone isn't watching England play on Sunday are you planning to do something else instead?

I couldn't give a flying flipadoodle about it so thinking film and a take away. DH will be out at the pub watching it so have the remote and Deliveroo app to myself.

I'm aware that there's a big match.
Don't know what time.
My policy of not watching has served England well so far so do I attempt to witness history, watch it and jinx it, or quietly ignore to improve their odds Grin

I have a history of triggering devestating penalty shootouts when I show too much interest.

On Wednesday I went for a run. It was lovely and peaceful out. Not sure about tomorrow. I might dip in and out, especially if the kids stay up.

FunIsland · 13/07/2024 08:03

I usually go to the cinema but maybe it won’t be open. If it’s not I’ll go for a long walk or run. Or have a long bath. Or watch paint dry 😉

whathasitgottodowiththepriceofoliveoil · 13/07/2024 08:03

Deliveroo is going to be slammed.

Sprogonthetyne · 13/07/2024 08:04

I will be 'enjoying' a child's music performance (5-8yo's on violins & cellos, so probably more painful then football), then taking DS to a birthday party. Both organised long before the England match was a liklihood.

At 8pm?

I'm sure plenty of people will be not watching the game.

Whywomendontreport · 13/07/2024 08:08

At 8pm I'm sure plenty of parents will be embroiled in children's bedtimes.

Long bath may feature in my plans too.
Not sure if the cinema will be showing films at that time- our nearest cinema is showing the match on the big screen 🤯

We will be watching House of the Dragon and be in bed by 9 😀

Yea was going to say this.

Coconutter24 · 13/07/2024 08:16

I’ll probably do whatever I usually end up doing on a Sunday night

I'll probably do the same OP.

Although my local carvery doesn't have TV so will be empty.

I don't care about football but this is england so I'll watch it...

Why? I don't understand.

MinnieMountain · 13/07/2024 08:18

I’ll be watching The Great in another room.

NextFriYAY · 13/07/2024 08:18

Gardening and pottering around listening to the radio before bed at 10 as up at 5am Monday for the gym before work. Normal day. Couldn’t give a fig about the footie.

Jifmicroliquid · 13/07/2024 08:19

I’ll be in bed watching something else.

Same. Why would you waste a couple of hours watching something you don't enjoy?

NashvilleQueen · 13/07/2024 08:20

Football is rarely on at 8pm on a Sunday night so just do whatever you'd ordinarily do. I hear there's streaming platforms available these days and everything.

FuzzyStripes · 13/07/2024 08:21

Of course YABU as surely we can all spend the evening making a choice whether we watch football or not (assuming no other commitments).

I’m not a football fan, but I will be watching and cheering England on. Each to their own.

Ineedaholidayagain · 13/07/2024 08:21

I'm halfway through a good book so will be curled up in bed reading, DH and DS will be watching in the lounge so I'll use the general sound level to guess how it's going.

Bobbotgegrinch · 13/07/2024 08:21

I'll be in the car driving back from a holiday. Hopefully it means the roads will be quiet!

Rafting2022 · 13/07/2024 08:22

Going out with my hiking club as usual. Will probably get home around 9pm.

RedVanYellowVan · 13/07/2024 08:24

This is weird. It's a football match, nothing more, nothing less.

Surely you either watch it if you are interested or carry on as normal if you're not? There almost seems to be a sense of having to arrange something alternative on purpose going on here.

FWIW, we are meeting friends to do something outdoors and potentially very messy for most of the day. The evening will be cleaning ourselves, cleaning kit and eating. I'm not interested in football but might think to look at my phone at some point.
