I have kids and live in a house in the burbs. Living alone with cats in a beautiful flat in a historic city is my actual dream. There isn’t a thing wrong with your life op (except maybe the odd questionable date 😅) xx

The thing is, children do live in flats, yes, but with adults. In fact children don't live anywhere by themselves, and are (or should be) always under the custody of a grown up living in their house. An adult lives in every house, and adults in cities live in flats. I'm an adult and live in a flat. My kids live with me but doesn't mean I don't live there.
