To feel like this about the fucking weather?

I feel like we’ve had about six days of sun since last October. I am so fucking fed up of it. The nights are already drawing in again!! No money to go abroad so that’s out of the question. I just want to have the doors open, flip flops on, to dry clothes outdoors. I honestly feel it’s making me depressed with constant grey skies.

Not round here it isn't.
It was supposed to be improving from this weekend but our forecast now says rain for at least the next 10 days but a bit warmer so that means it's just going to be damp and muggy😖😖🥴

That's a shame - but it still might change?

It's supposed to be 25 and sunny here - WOOOOO!! (That also might change)

Tagyoureit · 10/07/2024 21:31

I went on the school run yesterday dressed liked a bloody Eskimo!

I want to speak to the manager!! 🤣🤣

Scorpionghost · 10/07/2024 21:28

Tbh I’d rather this than the 40 degree heat we had 2 years ago.

And me

Justwingingit2005 · 10/07/2024 21:32

A friend of mine is in Hungary. Its 37 there.....I don't want that just a day with no rain would be nice

Rainbowsponge · 10/07/2024 21:32

LaurieFairyCake · 10/07/2024 21:29

Yeah, it suits me

It's so beautifully green out there still, usually it's all brown and plants die by now

It's so lush out there

Yeah, it’s also contributing to the major mould issues in housing, vitamin D deficiency in the population, energy usage as we can’t dry our washing outside and have to use tumble dryers, the wildfire spread of respiratory illnesses which are now year round because it’s always damp and mild, animals in the field going lame, our food production under threat, and flooding.

But as long as we can cast our eyes over a strong crop of weeds and overgrown grass, we’re happy

ghostyslovesheets · 10/07/2024 21:33

I agree - it's been shite - I also just want to dry my bloody washing outside!

I am off on holiday next week (sorry - but it IS to Tenerife - MN hates Tenerife) but I just need some heat!

Blackcats7 · 10/07/2024 21:34

I like it because I hate the heat. Up to 20 degrees is ok but anything over that is too much for me.

Scorpionghost · 10/07/2024 21:35

Abracadabra12345 · 10/07/2024 21:31

And me

I went to Tesco to get a COLD water and all their freezers and fridges had broken down because of the heat 😂

My friend is dual nationality and in Cypruss recently and couldn't wait to escape the heat and come back to the cool rain of England!

It's been sunny here today and 23 degrees and sunny tomorrow- so much depends on where you live

@Rainbowsponge 😂😂 thank you for making me laugh

My garden looks like a swamp and I'm sick of carrying an umbrella
The cat keeps looking out the window and then at me like I can control it Confused
Contemplating the duvet back on the bed

Abracadabra12345 · 10/07/2024 21:43

We need a really nice, long, hot spell all the way from the beginning of the school summer holidays, (24-29 degrees C!) right through to the end of September. An eight to nine week chunk of long hot summer!

Bloody hell, no thanks! See - we're all different

BogusHocusPocus · 10/07/2024 21:44

I can't bear it either.... to such an extent that I'm considering a move abroad for a year.

White cloud
Temps in the middle teens.
Constant threat of rain

No warmth, and definitely no heat. Never a blue sky, I live for the summer and it's the second year we haven't had one.

Extremely disappointing and depressing. The wind was too cold and strong to sit outside today.

Bloom15 · 10/07/2024 21:47

I hate it - it's wet and grey constantly.

My asthma has never been worse either. And my hair has never been more frizzy!

motherofbantams · 10/07/2024 21:48

My 10 month old. 13 degrees and raining - in JULY!!!!! Think she wants back in my tummy! She does feel the cold being a little dot too. So yes we are also fed up! Had aircon put in last year and have only used the heat function 🤣🤣

To feel like this about the fucking weather?

we are moving our big bed around this weekend, to an inside wall, as when the wind and rain hits the house I feel cold, convinced the outside wall is soaking up the rain.
Im seriously considering putting the electric blanket back on the bed and reinstating the 13.5 duvet we put away for the ‘summer’
The bedroom temp monitor says 21.5 degrees although Im not warm at all, in fact
my feet and knees are v cold and Ive found warmer socks.
Im taking D.3 every week day bit it isnt as good as feeling warm sun on my face.

I leave my electric under blanket on our bed all year round but don't usually use it in the summer. Had to switch it on the other night though as I was too cold to get to sleep!

DelilahBucket · 10/07/2024 21:53

Yep absolutely sick of it. I think us "oop north" seem to bear the brunt of the worst of it. I visited London for the day the weekend before last. At home it rained, ALL day. We got to London and it was glorious sunshine and scorching hot. The forecast every day for the next week is rain. I don't even want it to be hot, just dry!

So you don't want nice warm weather in July and August and September (MID SUMMER and very early Autumn,) nice and dry and clement, where people can get out, go for long walks, go to the beach, sit outside, play outdoor games and sports, have their kids play out, dry the washing outside, sunbathe, and have their mood lifted and feel better and happier?

Wow. Just Wow. Confused Imagine going through life with an attitude like this.

Curlewwoohoo · 10/07/2024 22:04

We're in a "la Nina" pattern I think, so cold over the Pacific and equator and the air currents have done an about turn, I'm a bit hazy on the details these days, been a while since A levels! But it effects the jet stream. And might mean more big hurricanes in the Americas. Unfortunately el nino / la Nina patterns last 3-7yrs... Not to say we won't get 'weather' changes mixed in to the general bigger picture. Or that there's not the background of climate change with rising temperatures.

pictoosh · 10/07/2024 22:04

Also feeling really sad and cheated out of summer by this weather.
The forecast is so disappointing.
It is so dark outside during the day.
Where is the light?

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 10/07/2024 21:01

Agree. I wish there was someone we could complain to. I find this weather unacceptable.

Surely the government should step in at this point.

PrincessMee · 10/07/2024 22:06

It's been shit! I've been lucky as was away for 3 weeks in May. There's been no summer. It feels like October tonight and I'm in the SE.

Me too! I prefer to be cold than hot. We're going to Greece in a couple of weeks and it could be too hot, then I'll be missing the cool rain! Also I'm glad not to have yo be constantly hosing the garden like we did a couple of years ago.

MustBeGinOclock · 10/07/2024 22:08

Agree. I can't remember it being so miserable a summer. It really is quite depressing 😕

Echobelly · 10/07/2024 22:08

I'm not sure why everyone is acting like this is so unprecedented... my FB memories lately are full of years when I was turning on the heating in June and there hadn't been a single day over 20C since 'summer' started and so on. This is Britain and it's what our summers are like and no, global warming doesn't guarantee hotter or drier summers.
