Transphobia on here is off the charts. Mocking genital reconstruction surgery on a male penis and referring to "moobs" rather than breasts. It's going too far.

Chill out Diane! Moobs just means man boobs. Even the Telegraph uses it

Am I the only one that noticed the photo of Dr Dame Katy Denise posted by @tralalaala?!!!!!!

I think their posts may be a bit tongue in cheek!

IAmAWarriorPrincessHonestGuv · 09/07/2024 19:58

Being a woman means being dealt an absolute shit hand of cards. If anyone wants to join the ranks voluntarily - frankly, I think that's nuts, but I salute the bravery.

The flaw with this reasoning is that they are not actually treated like women. The people around these individuals are almost always fully aware that they are ‘special’ and treat them with kid gloves.

They get powerful representation at high levels of government and have global organisations keen to hang off their every word. If they really were treated like women they’d be ignored and pushed to the back of the line.

Who's been mocking genital mutilation surgery?

I noticed too because it's the Jack Duckworth lookalike!
It's that post that made me go 🤔about tralalaala

Edited to add: well, that and the ham hock

Moobs i know it means man boobs, but were talking about a woman who has grown breasts via hormone therapy. It's disrespectful to belittle her body.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2024 19:59

We're not talking about a woman though.

Where was the mocking of male genital surgery? Pointing out that a male who has their penis inverted to create an artificial cavity in their body has had their penis inverted to create an artificial cavity in their body is not mocking or transphobic.

Using blunt but accurate language may be uncomfortable for you to read, but it is not transphobic.

It is not right to mock it, but the realities of a festering open wound that is trying to heal itself should be laid bare.

Personally this is why I have huge issues with saying that to be 'accepted' one has to have genitial surgery. It absolutely should not be encouraged and only happen after a lot of discussion.

It is only your personal belief that a male person can become a woman. No one has to comply with your wish that people affirm your personal belief.

They are not breasts like a woman has though. The medical word is

Gynecomastia (guy-nuh-koh-MAS-tee-uh) is an increase in the amount of breast gland tissue in boys or men. An imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone causes it. Gynecomastia can affect one or both breasts, sometimes unevenly. Pseudogynecomastia is an increase in fat but not gland tissue in male breasts.

No it's not. It's a man with mounds that he's sprouted due to hormone drugs. Nothing to do with being a woman. It's a man.

"Being trans" is a mental health issue - something to try and resolve/move on from etc not to be encouraged/endorsed.

No one would encourage another to continue being anorexic or more bulimic etc.

For me being encouraging of someone pretending to be what they clearly arent and can never truly be is just as an appalling act as encouraging someone with a bmi of 15 to reduce it further.

I know that opinion will enrage some but..... knowing how much this cult destroys so many teens, adults, splits families apart enrages me. Seeing photos of young women who've had their boobs chopped off is heartbreaking, their voices ruined forever by just three months of being on Testosterone etc. Utterly irreversible. So many other heartbreaking examples.
What I am "pro" is encouraging and supporting people to be happy and joyful as they are.

Exactly.
Surely, any encouragement of transitioning is effectively affirming that these people are indeed 'flawed' and should take steps to change? Rather than encouraging them to love the skin they're in?
They need emotional/mental health support - not a boob job!

Is this the woman with the feminine lady ham hock? Or the moobs? Or the porn star? I'm getting a bit confused, tbh.

DianeAbbotsJamjars · 09/07/2024 20:04

Very derisory tones. You know how you feel towards this community.

Citrusandginger · 09/07/2024 20:04

To me, trans is a further extension of homosexuality

I disagree and I think this is fundamentally important. Homosexuality is about who you desire to have sex with, but the trans movement can be surprisingly homophobic.

Trans is complex. Every person is of course an individual, but there groups within the trans umbrella with different needs and desires. Young girls with rapid onset gender dysphoria are often lesbians struggling with their sexuality, some homosexual males take on an exaggerated drag type role, though this can be an extreme reaction to previously experienced homophobia. Then there are the often older males, who derive sexual satisfaction through performing womanhood, but are usually heterosexual.

It's important to understand these distinctions and know there isn't a common sexuality. And anyone proclaiming to be a trans ally really needs to understand the basics.

I wouldn't mock it. It's an utter tragedy that anyone buys into the need for this extreme surgery, with lifelong medical implications and frequently, devastating consequences.

No wonder 80 to 90% of men who say they are women retain their penises.

If there’s one thing that TRA’s can’t handle its accurate language.

'Bottom surgery' sounds a lot fluffier than 'a flayed and inverted penis'.

murasaki · 09/07/2024 20:10

Women are mocked all the time. It's either OK or it isn't. Given it seems to be fair game for women, if trans women want to be us so much they'd better get used to it.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 09/07/2024 20:06

No. They cannot. Blunt but accurate language forces the belief to be clearly seen and therefore not obscured any more.

There is a huge fucking difference between:

"a woman who has grown breasts via hormone therapy"

And the truth:

A male person who has chosen to take the wrong hormones for their sexed body to make elective modifications to their male body.
